passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 25, 2007 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry. Bruce Colwell dearly beloved husband of Eleanor Colwell (nee Pickard) of Williams Point. Loving father of Mike and his wife Tammy Colwell and Marcia and her husband Ed Worona all of Bowmanville. Dear Papa of Sarah and Shaelyn Colwell and Sam and Jack Worona. Bruce will be sadly missed by his sister Linda Houston and his many nieces and nephews. A Lions Club service and a Memorial service to celebrate the life of Bruce Colwell was held at the Blackstock United Church 3483 Church St., Blackstock on Sunday May 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. with a time of visiting from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the church on Sunday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the ALS Society of Ontario would be appreciated. Memorial donations are to be made by cheque only.

Peacefully in Uxbridge on Monday, April 23, 2007 in her 95th year. Betty was predeceased by her sister Grace, Loving husband of 51 years, Fred, Her special daughter Sharon, eldest son Fred Jr., and caring daughter-in-law Donna. Devoted mother of Jack (Ellen), Bill, Ted (Carol), Maryanne and daughter-in-law Marion. Proud grandmother of Kim, Freddie III (Trish), Susan (Larry), Lisa (Chris), Jill (Tyler), Kelly, Katy (Doug), Amy, Crystal, Brad (Brett), Jason (Ashley) and great grandmother to Melanie, Shayne, Jade, Madison and Kyrah. “The Uxbridge Legion dance floor will never be the same.” Family received visitors on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge. Peacefully and courageously entered into rest on Monday, April 9, 2007 at Southlake Regional Health Center, Newmarket at age 84. Loving mother of Diane (Mike) Lynch, Helen (George) Misseri, Ronny (Irene) Daviau, Margaret Daviau, Raymond (Marg) Daviau. Sadly missed by her brother Leo (Joy) Daviau. Loved by her nieces and nephews. Loving Grandmother of 24 and caring Great-Grandmother of 27. She will be remembered for her many years of volunteer work at Chances Are. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Thanks to the sisters and brothers of Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall.

It is with great sadness that the loving family of Walter Grushecki announces his passing in his 97th year on Sunday, April 8, 2007. He leaves daughter Denise, son-in-law Dave Ferns, grandson Larry Lamanna, granddaughter Lucille and her husband Mike Ste. Marie, great-grandchildren Carter and Maya Ste. Marie. Has gone to heaven to care and nurture spring gardens April 23, 2004. He was 57. Ken will be remembered for his devotion to family, his wit, his inventiveness and his passion for orchids. Left to celebrate his caring and inspiring life are his loving wife of thirty years, Judy, cherished son, Darcy (Boston), adored daughter, Yvette Simpson and her husband Erik (Houston, TX) and treasured grandson, Gavin. Ken will be fondly remembered by sister, Lynda Mackay (Reay), Toronto and brother, Russell (Deb), California. Ken is the beloved nephew of Catharine Ridley, London, ON., and son-in-law of Lauretta Johnston, Woodstock. This past year he has been sustained and comforted by faith. He is blessed with special relatives throughout Canada and the U.S. Ken and his family are thankful for the unconditional care and support of Doctor John Simpson, Uxbridge, and Reverend Elaine Lush. Proud Poppi of Francis, Jacob, Brendan, Shawn, Brodie, Jenna, Marissa, Spencer, Ethan, Abi, Rebecca, Hannah, Nathaniel, Zachary, Eli & great Poppi to Lincoln. Frank was an avid fisherman, and volunteered countless hours to local Nursing Homes providing entertainment with his piano playing.
