LEMAY, Shirley -
At her home on Tuesday, November 18, 2003, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Beloved mother of Lori and Eddy McQuillen, Sandy and Wayne Fowler, and Shawn Lemay. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Justin, Aaron, Amanda, and Jacob. Dear daughter of Ida and the late Joseph Reeves. Sister of Joan and Wayne Bishop, Marilyn and the late Yvon Seguin. Sister-in-law of Margaret and Don Brunet. Will be lovingly remembered by her husband Georges, her nieces and nephews, and many dear family and friends. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church (SE corner of Harwood Ave. and Bayly St., Ajax) on Friday, November 21, 2003 at 11 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

VAN DEN BROEK, Nick -
Peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday November 18, 2003 in his 75th year. Predeceased by his wife Odilia (2001). Loving father of Mary Lou Vandenbroek and Tim Vandenbroek and his wife Debbie. Beloved step father of Tanya Vandenbroek and her friend Wayne Proctor, Rick Vanderwouden, Mike Vanderwouden and his wife Ann. Opa will be greatly missed by Kristin and Taylor Vandenbroek and Eric and Jessica Vanderwouden. Dear brother of Anna Laarakkers and brother in law of Martin Vanlanen. Nick will be missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends including those at McDonalds and the bridge club. Family and friends received at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel on Thursday November 20 from 7 ot 9 pm and Friday November 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of the Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church 903 Giffard Street, Whitby on Saturday November 22 at 10am. Cremation will follow. In memorian donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

BENTEAU, Ursula Mary -
Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Corporation Bowmanville on November 17, 2003. Ursula Benteau at the age of 68. Daughter of the late Lucy and Reginald Benteau of Point May, Newfoundland. Beloved sister of Gerry, Lillian Morris, Leona Daley, Marcella Scop, Stella Strycker, Bernice Lindemann and Helen Mentzer. Predeceased by sister Sheila and brothers Austin and Michael. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Ruth, Diane, Denise, Donna, Annette, Carolyn, Christine, Howard, Brian, Rick, John, Michael and Derek. Ursula will be sadly missed by all, but especially by Jake and Kaitlyn. Resting at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice L1E 2R7 (905-432-8484) with Memorial Service in the Chapel on Wednesday November 19, 2003 at 4 PM. The family of Ursula will receive friends on Wednesday November 19, 2003 from 2–4 PM. Private family Interment at Holy Cross cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

GRANIK, Alma Evelyn -
passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2003 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Albert (Bert) Granik. Loved and cherished by her daughter Donna Granik of Burlington, her grandson Brock James and his wife Jeanne Ng of Toronto and her late son David Granik. Dear sister of Anna Larmer of Barrie and the late Elsie McKay, Vera Thompson, Marian McKay, Nelson McKay, Gordon McKay and Laura McKay. She will be fondly remembered by many other family and friends. We invite family and friends to a celebration of Evelyns' life at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. East, Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Saturday, November 22, 2003 from 12 to 4 p.m. This includes visitation and reception with refreshments. A private family service will be held at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Habitat for Humanity.

JEFFREY, John Campbell -
Peacefully on Monday November 17, 2003 at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa at the age of 75. Loved father of Gary, Bruce, Brien and Darlene. Loved grandfather of nine grandchildren. A fnneral service will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905 433-4711). Cremation. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

PIERCE, Effie Emma -
Died peacefully in Bowmanville on Monday November 17th, 2003, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Art Pierce. Predeceased by her brothers Ernest and Norman Lyon. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Resting at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday November 19th, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. Interment Union cemetery , Oshawa. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.

Peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital, Whitby on November 16, 2003 in his 85th year. Beloved father of son Edward and wife Patti, daughter Margaret and husband Ken Pierson, son Ted and wife Heather, daughter Janet and husband Dave Bennett. He will be lovingly remembered by his dear companion Theresa Kucharuk. The loving grandfather of Rachel, Sarah and Emily Babut, Brittney and Brooke Pierson, Hollie and Courtney Babut, Tyler and Julia Bennett. Remembered at this time by former wife Wladyslawa "Gladys" Babut. At Walter's request he has generously bequeathed his body to the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church in Oshawa, Ontario on Friday November 28, 2003 at 10:00

Loving father of Wayne and his wife Patti of Font Hill, Terry and his wife Judy of Bowmanville, Larry and his wife Susan of Elmira. Loved grandfather of Melissa, Michael, Greg and his wife Sandra, Shelley and her husband Jon, Kyle and his wife Jennifer, Rebecca, Matthew and great-grandfather of Liam, Maggie and Grace. Dear brother of Helen Devitt of Bowmanville. Loved brother-in-law of Patricia Dixon of Summerland, B.C. At the Richmond Terrace Nursing Home, Amherstburg Ontario in her 85th year. Born Dorothy Noreen Pierson, June 25, 1919, Viscount Saskatchewan. married to Norman Duncan McIntosh 1941, who passed away November 23, 1971. Beloved mother to John Frederick (Jack) McIntosh who passed away July 15, 2002. Dear sister of Elizabeth Roberta Roberts (1998) and husband Mel Roberts (1988), Mr John Grant (1995). Dear Friend and beloved aunt of Dorothy Ann and her husband Gerry Bergeron of LaSalle, Ontario, George and Linda Roberts of McGregor, Ontario and David Roberts of Windsor Ontario. Dorothy is also survived by several great nieces and nephews from the Windsor area. Dorothy was the past President of the Royal Canadian Legion 112, Whitby, where everyone knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday. A Service in the Chapel on Wednesday 11 am. with interment GROVESIDE cemetery. In memoriam donations may be made to Legion Branch 112 Poppy Fund.

Suddenly, while playing hockey in Uxbridge, on Sunday, November 16, 2003, at the age of 61. Will Peddie, best friend and husband of Marion. Loving father of Jim, Chris and her husband Kevin Beckett, and predeceased by Scott. Grandpa of Katie and James. Brother of Fred and brother-in-law of Ann. Special Uncle of Melissa, Mark and Margery. He will be fondly remembered by his many family and friends. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Service at Claremont United Church (5052 Brock Road, Claremont), on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis Society would be greatly appreciated.

Released into God's Hands our infant son Kevin Matthew Sapiano on Sunday, November 16th, 2003, at 9 months. Dearly loved son of Marko and Heidi Sapiano. Cherished grandson of Sandra and Hendrik Zwaan and Pirjo and Charlie Sapiano. Fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Friends will be received at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN LTD., 79 Baldwin Street, Brooklin Village from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Then to Ajax Alliance Church, 115 Ritchie Street, Ajax for funeral service Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at GROVESIDE cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, donations requested to Hospital for Sick Children Foundation or Grandview Children's Centre.
