HAMMOND, Lorne David – An Angel earned his wings on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Lorne Hammond formerly of Bell Island, Nfld., leaves behind is loving wife of 49 years, Aina (nee Aparins), proud daughters Annette (Albert), Sherry (Randy), Suzanne (Mauro). Lorne will be forever cherished by his grandchildren Alyssa, Travis, Jessica, Jamie and Hailie. Dear brother of Doreen (Fred) and Judy (Wayne). Lorne is predeceased by his parents Victor and Marie, and by his brother The Reverend John and sisters Marge and Marion. Special thanks to all those who gave Lorne such wonderful care, especially to his great friend John Passerino for always being by his side. On Friday April 3, 2015 , in his 78th year at his home with his loving wife by his side, Jim passed away. Beloved husband of Barb Sunnucks, predeceased by his first wife Jane (Henderson) 2001.
Loving Dad of Len and Sherry, Shirley and Cal Wilson, Bob and Marg, Steve and Leigh and Laurie and Ray Ritchie.
Proud Poppa of Phillip, Kristopher, Jeremy, Jamie, Ashley, Megan, Caitlin, Victoria, Adam, Luke and Jacob. Great Poppa to Joshua, Caleb, Brodie and Kristopher Jr. Also survived by his step children, Larry, Alan, Laurie, Cathy, Craig and their families.
Dear brother of Jack (Anne) Sunnucks, Marilyn (Wes) McLellan and sister in law Willa Sunnucks. Predeceased by brother Bill Sunnucks and best friend Barry Alderton. Also fondly remembered by his many sisters and brother inlaw, nieces and nephews and special friends.
Jim loved his family dearly. He Enjoyed travelling, joking and teasing everyone, dancing and having a great time.
