Frances Mary (nee Murless) Bloye
BLOYE, Frances Mary (nee Murless) - What a woman, what a life . . . Fran lived her life full of adventure, tenacity and determination. There was never any challenge too great that did not warrant her remarkable ability “to get the job done”. She was CEO of her domain and a true matriarch of her family. Fran will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Max. He was her devoted partner in a world filled with family, travel and great adventures. As a wonderful mother and role model, she will also be missed by her daughters Cheryl Campbell, and her husband Bill, and Susan Brister, and her late husband Gordon and partner Craig Hunter, and by Kimberly (deceased). Her boundless love will always be kept in our hearts. Fran took great joy in her grandchildren Megan, Darcy, Laurel (deceased), Erin, Beth and Lindsay, who affectionately called her “Frama“. It was Frama who taught them how to swim, bake brownies and expertly dust a living room. Frama was also able to meet and spend time with her three great grandchildren Riley, Ava and Amelia. She was fortunate to have engaged four generations with her boundless love and energy. Fran was born in 1925 and raised by adventurous parents who criss-crossed the ocean and Canada in search of a new life in a new country. It was while on a stay with family in Wales that Fran decided to enlist in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the young age of 17. While serving in medical service in London, England, she met and married Max. They stayed in the Air Force and moved to many new and different locations. At each new posting, Fran put her talents to good use by organizing and volunteering with various groups. Her favourite group was the Girl Guides, where she mentored young girls and taught new recruits many skills, values and the joy of Guiding. To the very end she was a member of the Trefoil Guild with Max by her side supporting her endeavours. Fran's passions were numerous from smocking, gardening, stained glass, to writing beautiful poetry and stories. But, her real joy was the time spent with her grandchildren. Surrounded in a loving circle of family and friends, Fran (Frama) passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on June 20, 2009. The family would like to thank everyone at Parkwood, especially those on 5 B South, for the affection they showed and the selfless and compassionate care they gave to Fran. We invite all those whose lives where touched by Frances Mary Bloye to attend a celebration of her life at Parkwood Hospital, London, Ontario at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2009. Expressions of sympathy and donations to Parkwood Veteran's Care or the Alzheimer's Society.
