passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2004 peacefully after a short valiant battle with cancer at the Blind River District Health Centre at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Catherine and the late Christine (deceased 1984). Will be greatly missed by his children: Michael (Lise), Katherine Tayler (Richard), Kimberly (Dieter Friske), Bruce (Barbara), Shannon (Brian Aikenhead), Cassandra Thompson (Mike), Andrea Rainville (Gerard), Tom Ciotka, Mac Ciotka (Fleurette) and Mary Jo Roy (J.P.). Remembered always by his grandchildren: Philippe, Stephanie and Mathieu, Christopher, Jennifer and Brandon, Tyler, Brock, Brent and Cindy, Ryan and Christine, Katelyn and Kyle, Chris (Melanie), Greg (Amie) and Mike (April), Tabatha (Andre) and Ryan (Caitlin), Samantha (Gerry), Katryna and Alysha, Carla (Albert) and Corrie (Jason) and Roberta and Michaela. Cherished by his great grandchildren: Madison and Paige, Alexandre, Mikayla and Maddison and Andrew. Proudly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Jack (Eva), Robert (Bernice), Sheila Malone and the late Bert. Retired from Ontario Hydro, Bill spent his time gardening, golfing, playing darts at the Legion, hunting and vacationing in Florida. Family time was his greatest joy in life. Visitations to be held Sunday August 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Menard Funeral Home, Blind River. Mass service will be held Monday, August 16, at 10 a.m. from St. James the Greater with Father Jim Ketzler officiating. Many thanks to all the doctors and nursing staff from Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, and Blind River who were involved in his care. Donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke or the charity of your choice.

February 11, 1925 – August 16, 2004 on Monday, August 16, 2004, Mrs. Lody Kuziw of Edmonton, AB, formerly of Wawa, ON, passed away at Capital Care Dickinsfield at the age of 79 years with her daughter, Lesley by her side. Lody will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Lesley (Ken) Kachmar, Joan (Brad) Chaulk, Jane (Steven) Crossthwaite; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Sean) Hinch, Kenneth (Janet) Kachamr, Ben and Charlotte Chaulk, Brock and Col Crossthwaite; her great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Emily Hinch, Matthew and Christopher Kachmar; one brother, Emile (Stella) Obuchowski; relatives in Ukraine and her many friends. Lody was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1996; her parents, Tom and Anna Obuchowski and her sister, Olga. Marie where he was teacher and principal at Sault Technical and Commercial High School for 35 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor (Elliott) Shearer.
