Margaret L. Allen
Peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford on Tuesday, April 17, 2001. Margaret L. Allen formerly of the Rotary Apts., St. Marys and Southampton, age 89 years. Beloved wife of Victor C. Allen. Loving mother of Rev. Douglas Allen and wife Kathryn of Wellesley. Loving grandmother of Meredith Pinkerton and husband Paul of Princeton, Craig Allen of Kitchener and great-grandmother of Lauren and Charis. Loving Aunt Marnie of Kay Reeves of Windsor and her family. The late Margaret Allen will rest at Spruce Lodge Chapel, 643 West Gore Street, Stratford on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Glenda Meakin officiating. Interment will be in Saugeen Shores cemetery (Southampton). In her memory donations to the Spruce Lodge Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated and may be made by calling the L.A. Ball Funeral Chapel in St. Marys at 284-1480. L.A. Lucille Nickol
Mrs. Lucille Winnifred Nickol, 83, of RR 2 St. Pauls passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Monday, June 25, 2001. Beloved wife of the late William C. Nickol (1983). Dear mother of Karl and his wife Judy of RR 1 Fullarton, Max of Smiths Falls, Robert and his wife Donna of Whitby, Brant and his wife Norma of Tillsonburg and Clark and his wife Kathy of Oro Station; loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; dear sister of Jean Ardrey of Halifax, N.S. and Don Fleming of Simcoe. Predeceased by her parents Chester and Martha (Baldwin) Fleming and a daughter-in-law Patricia Nickol (2001). Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal Street, Mitchell on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Villeneuve officiating. Campbell Connor
Campbell Newell Connor passed away the morning of April 17, 2001 at People Care Nursing Home in Stratford. He was in his 90th year. He was the son of the late Reverend James G. Connor and Elizabeth Connor (nee McNulty). Beloved husband of Frances Irene Connor (nee Moulton) and dear father of Sandra Ann (Mrs. Richard Rompf) of Goderich and Gregory James Connor of Stratford. Grandfather of Michael Rompf of Goderich and Meredith (Mrs. Darryn McAsh) of Clinton. Cam served overseas in World War II in the Armoured Corps Division of the 8th Reconnaissance Unit as a wireless operator in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was employed at Standard Products, Stratford until his retirement. He is survived by his sisters Miriam Schneider of Wenatchee, Washington and Betty (Mrs. Douglas Thompson) of Stratford. He was predeceased by brothers Franklin, Murray and James; and by sisters Irma, Regina and Lois. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, April 19 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. Rev. Tim Connor will officiate. Tillie Riehl
Ottillia (Tillie) Riehl of People Care, 198 Mornington Street, Stratford and formerly of Ellice Township, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, April 15, 2001 in her 92nd year. Born in Ellice Township she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ottillia Nowack. She was predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence John Riehl in 1979. Beloved mother of Mona and husband Donald Doerner, Carlton Riehl and wife Pam, Brenda and husband Barry Eckstein, Susan and husband Bill Sanderson, Linda and husband David Murray, Judy and husband Gary Schellenberger, Joanne and husband Barry Ballantyne and daughter-in-law Florence Riehl. Loving grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. One brother Clayton Nowack and wife Esther, Stratford, sister-in-law Adela Riehl, Stratford and Shirley Nowack, Rostock. She was predeceased by one son Laurie Arthur Riehl (1986) one grandson Michael Ankenmann (2000), one brother Richard Nowack and four sisters Dorothea Quipp, Hada Schineman, Mabel Schragner, Martha Rohfreitsch, one sister-in-law Pearl Smith and one brother-in-law Milton Riehl. Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, April 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2nd St. John s Lutheran Church, Wartburg on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. William Kramer will officiate. Interment in the church cemetery. George Kollman
Mr. George Frederick Kollman, age 91, of Greenwood Court, Stratford passes away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, December 25, 2001. He was born in North Easthope Township, son of the late Henry Kollman and the former Lydia Ann Cook. George had farmed all of his life in North Easthope until his retirement in 1987 and was a lifelong member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church, Gads Hill. He had been involved in Municipal life for many years having served as Reeve of North Easthope in the early seventies and was active with the Grand River and Upper Thames Conservation Authorities. George operated an apple orchard on the farm for many years and always enjoyed his time at the Stratford Farmers Market. He is the loving brother of Mabel and husband Grant Siegner, RR1 Milverton, Harold Kollman and wife Mary, Greenwood Court, Stratford. Loving uncle of Gerth Daub, Emily Swanson, Ruth Ross, Ronald Daub, Jane Klein, Diane Low, Lyle Kollman, Robert Kollman, Walter Kollman, Marjorie Angel, Beth Kollman, Nancy Kollman, Cathy Hazen, Joyce Gallant, William Siegner, Joan Scheerer, Alex Siegner and numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters Florence Daub (Andrew), and Ida Kollman and by brothers Harry Kollman (Martha) and Wilfred Kollman (Catherine). Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, December 27th from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter s Lutheran Church, Gads Hill on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. At the Stratford General Hospital on Monday, July 29, 2002. Beloved son of Terry and Melissa Eveleigh and loving brother of Brittany and Caelen. Murray D. Douglas
Mr. Murray Drummond Douglas, age 69, of 260 Douglas St., Stratford passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday, October 6, 2000. Born in Stratford, he was the son of the late John Douglas and the former Evelyn Drummond. He farmed inNorth Easthope Township for a number of years and was employed at the TSC Store and was a salesman for C.I.P., Toronto. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #8, Stratford, where he was an avid cribbage player and he loved growing roses. He was the beloved husband of Connie (Johnson) Douglas whom he married in 1977. Loving father of Rick Johnson and his wife Janine, Stratford and Dan Johnson and his wife Lynette, Gadshill. Dear grandfather of three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother John Douglas and his wife Joan, Stratford, sisters-in-law Doreen Douglas, Toronto and Lillian Jones, Stratford and several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother David Douglas. At Murray s request, his remains have been donated to the University of Western Ontario, School of Anatomy. A memorial service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 2 p.m. Rev. Karen Timbers will officiate. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford. W.G.
