Celia Hartwick
Mrs. Celia Iona Kay Hartwick, age 67, of 26 Patricia Road, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, July 1, 2003. Born in Tuckersmith Township, Huron County she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (MacPherson) Norris and had lived most of her life in the Stratford area. She was employed at Dura Automotive for 32 years. Beloved wife of Boyd Hartwick whom she married in Staffa on February 27, 1971. Loving mother of Doug Hartwick and friend Murphy, Toronto, Dave Hartwick and wife Mary and Dennis Hartwick and wife Karen, all of Kitchener. Dear grandmother of Brianna and Katy, Calvin and Travis. Daughter-in-law of Jack Hartwick, Kincardine. Sister of Lila Storey and husband Orville, Seaforth, Dorothy Davis, Thamesford and Donna Flynn, Londesborough. Also survived by sisters-in-law Annie Norris, Dorothy Squires and brothers-in- law Don McLeod and Dale Hartwick and wife Gale and her beloved pet Wally . Besides her parents she was predeceased by her mother-in-law Effie Hartwick, four sisters and six brothers, five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, July 4, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Mr. David Williams will officiate. Interment will be in Kincardine cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation through the funeral home. W.G. Irene Edith Holden
Mrs. Irene Edith Holden, age 74, of 56 Maple Avenue, Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on July 30, 2003. Born in Melville, Saskatchewan, a daughter of the late John and Julia Decker and step-daughter of the late James Vickers. Beloved mother of Brian Holden, Brenda Holden and friend Wally Holst, Barry Holden, Blaine and Penney Holden, Blair and Meghan Holden and Brent Holden. Cherished grand- mother of Melissa, Kenny, Richard, Christine, Sophie and Zachary. Dear sister of Rudy Decker and Caroline Worth. Predeceased by a sister Loraine Graham. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, August 1, 2003 from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Rev. Matilda Erb
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at her residence Greenwood Court, Stratford. She was born in Wellesley Township 90 years ago and was the daughter of the late Noah and Veronica (Roth) Wagler. Matilda was a member of Riverdale Mennonite Church, Millbank. Beloved wife of the late Ezra Erb who predeceased her January 14, 1985. Loving mother of Lillian Kuepfer of Newton, May and Jake Roes of Wellesley, Ella Mae and Delton Leis of Verner, Eldon and Mary of Southampton, Betty Lou and Kenneth Dechert of RR 3 Stratford, Marion and Harold Hergott of RR 3 Walkerton, Ervin, N. Wayne and Reina, all of Kitchener, Eva and John Derrough of RR 5 St. Thomas, Paul and Eileen of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Vernon and Marilyn of Shakespeare, Barbara Ann and Joseph Bage of St. Marys, Ivan and Catherine of Woodstock. Sadly missed by 32 grandchildren, 42 great- grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also missed by her sister Lydia Zehr of RR 1 Millbank and sister-in-law Emma Wagler of Millbank. Matilda was predeceased by three children David, Martha and Daniel in infancy, son-in-law Ray Kuepfer, two grandchildren in infancy, sister Clara Wagler, brothers Samuel and Leah Wagler, Chris and Katie Wagler, Allen Wagler, sister-in-law Fannie and Ezra B. Jantzi and brothers-in-law Lloyd Zehr, Mike and Mary Erb, Aaron and Rosella Erb, Eli and Vera Erb and Samuel Erb in infancy. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton tonight from 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Riverdale Mennonite Church, Millbank. Pastor Clive Ollies to officiate. Interment in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society or Greenwood Court. Earl R. Binkle
Earl Rae Binkle, 77, of RR 1 Gadshill passed away in the People Care Health Care Centre, Stratford on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. He was born in North Easthope Township on May 14, 1926, a son of the late Aaron Binkle and the former Elizabeth Patterson. Earl was a member of Knox North Easthope Presbyterian Church. He is the beloved husband of Grace Katharine (Forrest) Binkle whom he married at Knox Church on October 5, 1957; the dear father of Brenda and husband Tom Kydd of Thornhill, Susan and husband Eric Beard of Waterloo; the dearly loved grandfather of Elisabeth, Aaron and Cameron Beard; brother of Isabel Bushfield and Olive McDermid, both of Stratford, Glenn and wife Shirley Binkle of RR 1 Stratford; brother-in-law of Margaret Binkle of RR 1 Stratford, George and Isabel Diehl of Stratford. Predeceased by brother Earnie Chick Binkle; sisters Reta Pletsch and her husband Laverne and Shirley Petznick; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law William Bushfield, Duncan McDermid, Wilfred and Jean Player. There will be no funeral home visitation. A private family funeral service will be held in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday, December 12, 2003. The Rev. Andrew Fullerton will officiate. Interment in Hampstead cemetery , North Easthope. Marie Day (McGregor) of People Care, Stratford and formerly of Buckingham Drive, passed away peacefully at her residence in her 66th year. Predeceased by her parents John and Lorraine (Lalonde) McGregor and by her brother-in-law Jacques Boulais. Loving mother and grandmother of Kim Ballantyne and her children Bradley and Kassidy, Michelle Boudreau and her children Tyler and Andrew; Paul Ballantyne and his children Lindsay and Jordy, all of Stratford, Lisa and her husband Ryan Tanner and their children Devon and Logan, Armstrong, B.C. Dear sister of Catherine and husband Mel Brenneman, Wiarton and Jacqueline Boulais, Stratford. Also survived by a niece Linda Brine and a nephew Steve Brine. She had been employed with K-Mart for many years and was also a bookkeeper until her retirement. Family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, February 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Frederick Jarrett
Frederick Brooklyn Jarrett, of 143 Britannia Street, Stratford, passed away at the Stratford General Hospital on Wednesday, January 17, 2001, in his 70th year. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was the son of the late Harry Jarrett and the former Marjorie Church. He had been employed at F.A.G. Bearings for over 30 years. Surviving are his wife the former Ethel Montgomery; a son Larry Jarrett and his wife Millie, of Calgary, Alberta; a daughter Jacqueline Waechter and her husband Stephan, of Landenburg, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren Kristen Jarrett of Stratford and her friend Marc Clements, of Waterloo, Kelly Lennon and her husband Rob, of Stratford, Hannah and Kai Waechter, of Landenburg, Pennsylvania and Nevin and Haley Jarrett, of Calgary, Alberta; two great-grandchildren Kimberlin Clarance and Dakota Lennon; a brother Robert Jarrett, of Windsor; a daughter-inlaw Shirley Aver and her husband Peter, of Stratford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At the request of the family, there will be no funeral home visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in God s Holy Acre at St. James Anglican Church, Stratford at a later date. Mrs. Velma Irene Burchill, 96, a resident of the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2001. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church Mitchell and a charter member of the Ephriam Scott Society of the church. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Burchill. Dear sisterin-law of Edna Burchill of RR 2, Dublin; dear aunt of Joan Hull of London, Diane Walker of Mississauga, Donna Willows of Carlingford, David Hatfield of Toronto, Jean Stobbart of Peterborough, Shirley Pittner of Fort Erie, Ken Burchill of Sarnia, Bob Burchill of RR 2, Dublin, Patricia Clark of Alma and Jim Burchill of Dublin. Predeceased by her parents William and Martha (Reaney) Borth, sisters Olive McKenzie, Muriel Hatfield, Margaret Young, brothers Jack and Bill Borth and nephew Jerry Borth.
