GLEW, Peter
Monday, February 14, 2005
(1939-2005) – February 13, 2005, surrounded by loving family, Peter left his earthly home to be in a place where only goodness and kindness will follow. Peter was born in England and came to Canada in 1953. He was noted for his gentle, giving nature, contributing throughout life to support those around him. Peter's keen sense of humour, devotion to family & friends, active participation in council 932 and as a dedicated volunteer for Wednesday night Knights of Columbus Bingo, are all beautifully etched memories which have left a mark upon those who crossed his path. Peter treasured his accomplishment of being a Fourth Degree Knight, relished his years with the Water Tower Old Timers' Hockey and looked forward each year to sharing Brimley days at our camp. Peter is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Bernice, his two cherished children Michael (Sault Ste. Marie) and Michelle (Ottawa). Peter is son of Molly and the late George Glew, predeceased by brother Kenneth (wife Beverley) and survived by sister Maureen Jackson (wife of the late Bernard Jackson). He is loved and fondly remembered by mother- in- law Irene Pigeon (Timmins) and brother- in- law Brian Pigeon (Timmins). He is warmly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at St. Veronica's Church on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 7-9:30 pm to call back memories of a kind and gentle man. Peter's life will be celebrated at a 10:30 am mass at St. Veronica's Church on Thursday, February 17, 2005 with Father Veselko Kvesic presiding. Special thanks to Leo Kane, friend and brother Knight for all his support, as well as Father Veselko Kvesic, Father Paul Conway and all the friends and colleagues who supported him throughout the challenging days. The wonderful care and kindness of the team of workers on the fourth floor of the Plummer Memorial Hospital was truly appreciated. You were our ministering angels in time of need. Special thanks to Dr. Spadafora, Dr. Walde and Drs. Mario and Susan Febbraro for attending so caringly to Peter throughout his illness. Indeed this quiet, warm hearted man will be missed.
