passed away peacefully at the Tendercare Nursing Home on Monday, April 24, 2006 at the age of 84. Born August 30, 1921 in North Bay, Ontario and longtime resident (1953) of Sault Ste Marie. Cherished wife of the late Ettridge "Bus" Wall. Loving mother of Terry Wall (Wendy), Gary Wall (Dianne), Debbie Wall-Armstrong (Tom), and Sandie Weeks (Marvin). Proud grandmother of Don Wall (Yolanda), Marci Wall (Jimmy), Terri-Lee Weeks (Matt), Corey Wall, Kathryn Armstrong (Steve), Leslie Weeks (Jimmy), Jackie Armstrong and Will Armstrong. Great grandmother of Allison Wall, Sasha and Megan Morrison. Survived by sister-in-law Claire Graham and brother-in-law Bernie Merriman. Predeceased by sisters Iva Heifner (Carl), Leah (Bud) Welsh (Tom), brother Emery Bebee (Dixie), sisters-in-law Ila Hawkins (Joe), Norma Mitchell, Aldean Merriman, Mildred Oliver and brothers-in-law Bill Graham and Allan Mitchell. Good friend of Inez Lehto. Aunt Mickey will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, April 27, 2006 from 6-9 pm. Funeral service on Friday, April 28, 2006 from Willowgrove United Church at 11 am. Rev. Bruce McLiesh officiating. Internment Greenwood Cemetery. Mickey was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple Lodge, Branch 155 for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 25 for many years. Memorial donations to the Elks' Oncology Van, Willowgrove United Church, New SAH Fund or to the Canadian Hearing Society would be appreciated by the family. Members of the Order of the Royal Purple Lodge are requested to assemble at the Arthur Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm for a service for the late Mickey Wall. His sister Margaret Ann Saarela (Holt) wishes to announce her brother's peaceful passing at the Plummer Memorial Hospital Oncology/Palliative Care Unit on Saturday April 22nd, 2006. A special thanks to the caring nurses there. John was brother-in-law to Gunther Saarela (Margaret) and uncle to Greg Saarela. He will be missed by close friends of his throughout the Sault and residents of the home where he held bingo's and entertained with piano and organ recitals. Born in Lanark County outside of Ottawa, where he will be remembered by his cousins of the Ferguson family and also in England by the Holt family. John will be cremated and interred at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a memorial service from his close friend Major Darrell Collar of the Salvation Army (date and time to be announced). His musical talents will be laid to rest at the age of 68 years. Donations on John's behalf can be made to the Sault Ste. Marie Salvation Army. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dwight William Benjamin McFarlane, age 61, on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Sault Area Hospital, Plummer Oncology Site. Dwight’s last hours, after a valiant battle with cancer, were spent in the company of his family and closest friends. He took his last breath cradled in the arms of his beloved wife, Carol (nee Lazarovitch), best friend and soul mate for 38 years. Dearest son of Rodney and Margaret McFarlane (nee Yantha) of Pembroke, Ontario. Beloved son-in-law of Jeanette Lazarovitch (nee Ksionzek) and the late Stanley. Dearest brother of David (Audrey) of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Michael (Brenda) and Colleen Reynolds (Darrell) of Pembroke, Ontario and the late Roy of Montreal. Dearest brother-in-law of Ken Lazarovitch (Anona) of Burlington, Ontario. Beloved uncle of Kelly Ann McFarlane of Montreal, Shawn McFarlane (Chantal) of Douglas, Ontario, Paul McFarlane (Traci), Adam McFarlane and Elissa McFarlane all of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Michael Lazarovitch of Toronto and Thomas Lazarovitch of Burlington. Great uncle of Isabella McFarlane of Montreal and Harley McFarlane of Port Coquitlam. Sadly missed by his aunts and cousins, his close friends, golf buddies, curling and slowpitch teammates. Dwight will be fondly remembered by the many students, parents and colleagues whose lives he touched in his 33 years of teaching. Dwight was a wonderful role model to all. His love of life, compassion, integrity, wit, loyalty, cheerful optimism, courage and determination to succeed at everything he put his mind to are qualities we all cherished in him. He brought out the very best in all of us and our lives are richer for having known him. God has taken home one of His best.
