It is with great sadness that we announce her passing on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the F.J. Davey Home at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Fred. Loving mother of Rosmarie and cherished grandmother of Jim. A private family service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. A heartfelt thank-you to Audrey Whitmore, Dr. Ianni and all the staff who took such wonderful care of our loved one during her stay with you. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or to the SAH Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.

On December 29, 2007, Charles Egglesfield in his 78th year , passed peacefully from the Sault Area Hospital into God’s loving care. Beloved husband of Bentley Marie (Penhorwood) of over 51 years. Dear father of Doreen St. John and Brian Egglesfield (Debbie). G-Pa to Christopher (Amanda), Kevan and Kent St. John. Son of the late Clyde Alexander and Evelyn Opal Egglesfield . Predeceased by his sister, Helen Stratichuk , he is survived by his sister Marilyn Patterson (George). Brother in law to Edith Callahan (Don), Bert Penhorwood (Anne) and Wendy Gray. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to his niece ,Susan and his guardian angel , Maureen and all the caring staff at the ICU of Sault Area Hospital. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate the life of Charles at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Sault Ste Marie from 9.30-11 am Wednesday January 2, 2008 with funeral services to follow immediately with Ven. W.R. Stadnyk officiating. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations accepted to Sault Area Hospital , which is being constructed near the site of the Egglesfield homestead. Charles was a 32nd Degree Mason , Algoma Lodge.

Loving and adored father of Elia Touesnard (Paul), Marlina Faulkner (Chris) and Marisa Anelli (late Walter). Treasured grandfather of Marc, Daniel and Sonja Touesnard and Domenic and Jessica Anelli. Dear son of the late Camillo and Lisa Volpe and beloved brother of Francesco (Helen), Giovianno (Maria), Sterina (Gulielmo), late Virginia (late Antonio) and late Adina (Domenico). Brother in law of Antonio DiPasquale (late Lucia), and Marietta Sulpizio (late Nicole). He will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews. Valentino will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. Loving Nono of Joseph Vilona (Lynn), Salvatore Vilona (Stacey), Angela Dowat (David), Sal Lamantea (Tina), Cathy Wright (Jeff), Gene Guzzo (Paula Naccarato), Katrina Guzzo (Craig Pierman) and his angel above Paul Guzzo. Step grandfather of Tony Buffone (Natalie), Mark Buffone (Meaghan Foster) and Mafalda Buffone (Dave Laliberte). Loving Great Nono of Bethany Vilona, Salvatore and Anastasia Vilona, Jaimie and Freddie Dowat, Anthony Lamantea, Jacob and Jordyn Wright, Sebastian and Talia Buffone. Brother of the late Maria Rosa Rosso (late Domenico). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Cherished grandmother of Rob Bailey and Megan McRae. Dear daughter of the late James and Mary Astin. Sister of the late Doreen Robinson (Gordon) and the late Pearl Astin. Sister in law of Gladys Anderson (late Andy), late Phillip Leishman (Edith), and the late Morris Leishman (late Laura). Aunt of Judy, Don and Richard. Gwen was a proud veteran of RCAF WWII. A private service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (759-2522). Mr. Ken Golder officiated. We are most grateful to the nurses and staff at Pathways and the F.J. Davey Home for the care and compassion shown to our mother.

Our Mom and Nonna had a special heart of gold.
