Dear brother of Gino (Irma), Eda Giorgi (late Mario) and the late Dora Candido, late Antonietta D’Orazio (Enzo), late Nina and the late Mario (late Maria). Peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the SAH Plummer Site at the age of 86. Loving husband of Edith Margaret for 62 years. Beloved father of Gary (late Carolyn), Alvin (Pat), Ernie (Peggy), Karen Wilson (Ernie), Norine Roussain (Pete), Donna (Ron), Terry (friend Karen), Joe (Barb) and the late Gloria Loubert (Wayne). Loved by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother of Sophie Matheson (late Allan), Grant Parker (Grace), Mitchell Parker (Claudette) and Emily Allen (late Ellis). Predeceased by Bob Parker (Chris), Eileen Burry (Harry) and Sadie Parker. Brother-in-law of Gordon Archibald (Eva), Doreen Rahn (late Al), late Barry Archibald (Vi) and the late Andy Archibald (Susan). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. The family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Rena on Tuesday the 28th of October 2008 in her 91st year. Dear daughter of the late Amedio & Theresa Simonini. Beloved wife of the late Hugo (Sparky) Stanghetta (1984). Loving mother of Elaine Muncaster (David) and Philip Stanghetta (Pat). Cherished grandmother of Marc Stanghetta (Lori), Vicky Brienesse (Mike) of Sault Ste. Marie and Jonathan Muncaster (Katie) of London, Ontario. Loving great grandmother of Hugh and Ava Stanghetta, Katelyn, Andrew & Alex Brienesse, Payton & Kylie Muncaster of London, Ontario. Dear sister of Reno Simonini (Helen) of Madison, Wisconsin. Predeceased sisters and brothers; Lino Simonini (Ereda), Nora Tombari (Adrian), Laurie Simonini (Lena), Elva Zuccato (Aldo), Eva Lucchesi (Carlo) and Aldo Simonini (June). Dear sister-in-law of Mel Stanghetta (Sue), Freda Stanghetti, late Adal Signoretti (Tilio), Olga Paris (Dan), Naldo Stanghetti, Remo Stanghetta (Edith), Mike Stanghetta (Marie) and Elda Pianosi. Rena was a woman of great faith, personal strength and courage. Her children were her love and she instilled in them belief that with personal determination all things were possible. She loved to travel, cook meals and entertain relative during her stays in Florida. She loved all her care givers at the Davey Home making them smile when she stated she would take them all on a trip. Words cannot express the gratitude the family feels for all the care and support given to Rena during her stay at the Davey Home. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Edna Benoit peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Van Daele Manor on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Freddie Benoit. Precious mom of Karen Benoit. Loving nanny of Kerry Odber (Scott), Kristen Breckenridge and Robert Breckenridge (friend Ricki Lacko). Great nanny of Kirsten, Brandon and Kassidee Odber, Cameron Breckenridge, Sarah Nelson and the late Kole Nelson (dad Sean Nelson). At Edna's request, there will be no public services. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations made to the Van Daele Resident's Council would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the Van Daele staff - especially 2nd floor who provided Edna with care, compassion and love during her stay with them.
