At Sault Area Hospital (Plummer Site) on Tuesday, September 30th, 2008. Parmie Guzzo in her 85th year. Daughter of the late Domenic and Carmela Guzzo. Sister of Ann Vetero (late Anthony), and predeceased by her brothers Ross, Eugene, and Frank Guzzo. Parmie is also survived by her sister-in-law Gaye Guzzo. Parmie will be missed by her nieces Toni O’Conner (Patrick), and Pamela Guzzo, and also her nephews Mel Vetero (Mary), Frank Guzzo, Barry (Roxann), Chris (Shirley) and Raymond (Diana) Guzzo. Parmie was predeceased by her niece Cheryl Vetero in 1985. Friends may call at O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home and Cremation Center, corner of Cathcart and St. James Sts. on Saturday, October 4th from noon until time of service at 2pm with Rev. Eric Pannike officiating. Cremation will be followed by interment in the family plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to the Sault Area Hospital Fund would be appreciated.

Loving father of Robert ( Bethany ) of Muskegon Michigan and Alison Beresford ( Michael ) of Glace Bay Nova Scotia. Special grandfather to Christopher Stuart Paterson and Wyatt Beresford. At Mr. Paterson’s request there will be no service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Cremation. Arrangements entrusted to the Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.

Our hearts are heavy and sad at the sudden illness and death of Buddy Alvin Yost on September 29, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, he made Sault Ste. Marie his home in 1970. Best friend and soul mate of Carol, he was a man who stood out among men and will be remembered fondly by each person whose life he touched. He was appreciated for his sense of humour and fun loving ways. He was an outstanding cook (garage BBQ's) and always loved getting together with family and friends. He will be missed by brother and mentor William (Mickie) of Pottstown PA, and Uncle Pete Markle (Dawn) also of Pennsylvania. Will also be missed by Lois Jackson and Franklin Young (Frances). Predeceased by Shirley & Gary Cresswell and Vernon & Edith Young. Will be fondly remembers by children Jimmy Yost (Laura), Barbara Mackes, Bryan Yost (Susan), Michael Johnson (Darlene), Laura Schell (Todd), Cindi Elgie (Geoff), Glen Johnson (Tammy) and Gary Johnson (Valeria). Will also be missed by 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2008 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished and loved daughter Shannon Renee due to a tragic car accident on the I-75 Michigan on Monday, September 29, 2008 in her 26th year. Dearest daughter of Michael and Roxanne Bentley (Acosta). Precious sister of Christopher and Steven. Special niece of Richard and Susan Acosta, Gary Acosta, Tim and Helga Acosta, Mark and Martine Acosta (Texas), Patrick and MaryAnn Bentley and Mary and David Page. Special cousin to Larry Bentley, Jonathan Page, Madaleen, Connor and Jacob Acosta and Nancy. Predeceased by her grandparents Larry and Doreen Acosta and Patrick and Jessie Bentley. Predeceased by her Aunt Gloria and Uncle Lenie Ostroski. Shannon will be sadly missed by her co-workers at Pharma Plus Pharmacy where she was a technician. She was a beautiful, sensitive, caring and loving daughter. She was very determined and lived her life to the fullest. We can't imagine our lives without her. Please pray for us. Cherished son of Deanna and Phil was taken from them after only three days of precious life. He passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital on September 24, 2008 and leaves behind his comforting sister, Darcie. Grandson of Bernard and Janine Nadjiwon, Jerry and Donna Connolly and Lorraine and Dan Bradley, nephew to many aunts and uncles. Landon was born three and a half months premature, weighing only 2 lbs, 2 oz. and fought to live for three days before the Lord took him home. Landon's joy, by most, will never be felt, yet he will be remembered by many. A private gathering was held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, September 27th.

Sister of Hilkka Brander (Bill), Lasse Outinen, Lena Skyum (Jorgen), Paul Outinen (Mary), Jack Outinen (Lynn), Helvi Hult (Karl) and the late Kirsti Ahlqvist (Jarl). Dearly loved mother of Connie McKenzie-Morgan (late Doug) of Beeton, Linda Schmidt (Harry) of Lefroy and Darrell (JoAnn) of Sault Ste. Marie. Special grandmother to Aura Lee Haynes (Ross Walton) of Aurora, Tracey McDowell (Steve) of Keswick, Lori Wheeler (Jamie) of Keswick, Brian White (Julia Duinker) of Ancaster, Brian Schmidt (Stephanie) of Barrie, Luke and Matthew McKenzie of Thorold. Proud great grandmother of Katie Haynes, Carly and Holly McDowell, Jayden, Cole, Korbin and Alyssa Wheeler. Predeceased by parents Fred and Hazel Hatten. Phyllis was very active in community life in her home town of Bruce Mines and took a big interest in the affairs of her area. She canvassed for the Cancer Society, wrote for the North Shore Sentinel, belonged to the UCW and over the years, put many prize winning entries in the Bruce Mines Fall Fair.
