GIBSON: Margaret Louise - After a brief but courageous struggle with cancer, Margaret Louise Gibson died on Saturday, February 25, 2006 in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael's Hospital, at 57 years of age. She leaves behind her son Aaron, who was blessed to be present for her final 2 weeks of life; his wife Jennifer, whom she loved dearly; her grandchildren: Logan, Drew and Ayden of whom she was so proud and her 3 sisters: Dana, Lenore and Deirdre. Also her faithful and life long friends: Shirley, Morris and Bob. Margaret was an accomplished Canadian author. She published five collections of short stories and a novel. All this despite dealing with mental illness for most of her life. Margaret was co-winner of the City of Toronto Book Award in 1977 for The Butterfly Ward and won the Chapters/Books in Canada First Novel Award for Opium Dreams in 1998. The film Outrageous (1977) is based on her story Making It. A custody battle with her husband inspired a TV movie, For the Love of Aaron (1995). She was predeceased by her parents Dane and Audrey Gibson.
Friends will be received at the SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME 873 Kingston Road, (west of Victoria Park Avenue) 416-698-2861 Toronto on Tuesday from 6 - 8 pm. A memorial service will take place in the chapel on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 1 pm. Cremation has taken place.

Dear mother of the late Pauline Hagerman (1997). Much loved and cherished grandmother of Jason & Kassandre, and Ryan & Jill. Proud great grandmother of "Her Boys" Zachary, Austin and Cody. passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Feb. 16, 2006. He leaves behind his daughter Lisa and son Dylan. They are comforted in knowing that their dad and friend is at peace. A great man, whose kindness extended to numerous, he lived his life to its fullest. He will be truly missed by Linda and Hayden, Erica, Amanda, Omie, Tato, Mel, Sharon, Liam, Dave & Jenny, Rob. A proud son of the late Geoffrey and Doris Gough in Wales, beloved brother of the late Michael Gough, fondly remembered by sister-in-law May and niece Tara in Australia, cousins & relatives in Britain and colleagues from his long career in the advertising industry. “Welsh Peter” will never be forgotten by his pub friends at Captain Jack, who will raise a pint in honour of his memory. Cremation took place Feb. 21 in a private ceremony. Friends are welcome to join us in “A Celebration of Life” on Sun. Kendall, Stephen - It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Kendall on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at age 51. Loving husband and soulmate to Gail (nee Smith). Beloved step-father to Carleigh Beverly. Cherished son to Doreen and much loved brother to Robert (Judith) and Tom (Ruth). Steve's generosity, kindness and knowledge will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the many members of the Beach community in Toronto of which he provided exemplary service in the way of general contracting, stonework, landscaping and tile work. PARISE: Peter Michael - (Retired Staff Sergeant after 36 years of service with the Toronto Police Service).
At Toronto East General Hospital with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the age of 60 years.
Peter, loving husband of Anna Maria and loving father of Anthony and Kelly, Peter and Leslie and Andrea and Chris. Doting grandfather of Adam and Sophia. Peter will be sadly missed by his sisters and brothers Joe and Aggie, Al, Bill and Marie, Angie Falagario, Marie, Clara. Peter was predeceased by his brother in law Bruce Falagario.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews and his close friends. Special thanks for the compassionate care given by the Oncology nursing staff and Dr. Rahim at Toronto East General Hospital.

Lyons, Winnifred Grace (Lieut. Cdr. Ret. W.R.C.N.S.) - Entered into rest at the Hastings Manor on Thursday May 25, 2006 in her 98th year. Lovingly remembered by her niece Peggy (Patricia) Lockhart and her dear friend Beverley Thorne. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, Doreen Panowyck, Gwen Murphy, Judy Jahnke, and also by her nephews Gordon Hawker, the late Robert Pharoah, Russell Hawker and William Barr. She will be remembered by her many great and great-great nephews and nieces. Her memory will be held heavily in the hearts of her many friends. She was a life member of the Monarchist League, member of Pilot International, Scarborough Branch and affiliate of the Wren Association of Toronto. TANCHUK: Anne - Anne in her 84th year passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, October 11, 2006. Predeceased by her husband Steve. Much loved mother of Patricia and Penny and her husband Brian and mother of Lenore. Predeceased by brothers Peter, William and John and sister Len. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Anne was born on November 3, 1922 in Portage la Prairie, Man where she grew up. During the war years, Anne and her brother, John came to Toronto for the summers to work with their sister, Len and husband, Paul at the Wayside Inn on Centre Island. Anne then worked in a munitions factory in the Toronto area before attending business school in Fort Erie. There she married Steve Tanchuk in 1946 and they returned to Portage to start their family. They lived in Churchill, Man for about five years before returning to Portage. After
Anne was widowed in 1998, she moved to Toronto to be closer to her girls. She loved the challenge of the daily crossword in the Star and the Daily Graphic. She was a fan and follower of Coronation Street and the Y and the R. Anne was an avid reader and also a wonderful cook. Anne's faith and sense of humour brought her through many difficult times.
A funeral mass will be held at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Portage la Prairie on Tuesday October 17, 2006 at 1 p.m., after which Anne will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie. If desired, memorial contributions in Anne's name may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society.
