Friday, June 04, 1926 - Sunday, October 08, 2006

Farrell, Elizabeth (Betty) Magdaline (nee Jahner) - In her 81st year died peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital on October 8, 2006. She was born on June 4, 1926 in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan. Betty is re-united with her husband of 56 years, Peter. She is greatly missed by her children, Georgina and Bob Chapman, Dave and Patti Farrell, Sue and Dave Robertson, Eilleen and Paul Lunau, Bonnie and Mike Thome, Tom and Maureen Farrell and Cathy and Jim Hartford. She will never be forgotten by her grandchildren Stephen, Kelly, David, Mike and his wife Kristen, Shaun, Jenny, Emily, Daniel, Chris, Peter, Shannon, Luke, Jeff, Elizabeth, Lauren, Patrick, Kevin, Tom and Katie. She is survived by her sisters, Georgina and Scholastica of the Ursulines of Prelate and her brother George of Sault Ste. Marie and many nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by her brother-in-law Frank and his wife Roseanna, sisters in law Margie, Helen, Theresa and Rita. She is predeceased by her parents George and Mary Jahner, brothers John and Andrew and sisters Margaret, Frances, Fran, Millie and Richardia. Many thanks to the staff of the Respiratory Unit (H7) for their special care of Betty in the past two years. Friends will be received at the SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, 873 Kingston Road (west of Victoria park Avenue), Toronto (416) 698-2861 on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 131 Birchmount Avenue (at Danforth Avenue) on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross cemetery, Thornhill. In lieu of flowers donations to Providence Centre Foundation, CNIB or a charity of your choice would appreciated

ROURKE, TERRENCE (TERRY): After an arduous journey, Terry has finally reached his destination, "Safe in the arms of Jesus." With his family by his side on Sunday, July 16, 2006, in his 74th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Eileen for 50 years. Loving father of Esther King (Greg), David (Susanne), James (Karen), Priscilla Babin (Richard), and Naomi Christopher (Troy). Adored Papa of Kevin, Taryn, Miranda, Jessye, Shanti, Angela, Leanna, Tyler, Connor, Brandon, Sarah, Johnathan and Kurtis. Brother of Patricia, Anne, Brenda, Claudia, Diane, Elaine, Emily, Faye and Gwen and Michael.

Terry retired as the Plant Operations Supervisor for DSBN.

A special thank you to Dr. Sandra Hartman and her caring team and to Catharine of Para Med.

McLean: Phyllis - At the N.H.S. General Site on Saturday June 24, 2006. Beloved wife of Don. Dear mother of Arlene and her husband Terry Johnston and Edward and his wife Charlene. Dear grandma of Rachel, Brenden, Kayla and Kyle. Also survived by her sister Beverley and her husband Rick Smart and her brother Ed Horvath.

Mrs. McLean is at the Niagara St. Chapel of Butler Funeral Home, 424 Niagara St. (south of Scott) where the family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday June 27 at 2 p.m. Interment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. BYERS, GEORGINA MARGARET: Suddenly, at the NHS - General Site on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the age of 69 years. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Byers and the late James Adams. She will be greatly missed by her children Samuel of England, Priscilla and her husband Brian Bergsma, Glenn and Peter all of St. Catharine's. Dear grandma of Kevin, Becky, Brian Jr., Shawn, Ryan, Ashley, Alexandria and McKenzie. She will be missed by her extended family of James Adams. Georgina is predeceased by her daughter Colleen Schiro and grandson Michael.

Warford: Hubert John - At the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Friday July 14, 2006 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Ruth. Dear father of Bill (Pat), Ted, Carol Ann (Tom), Helen Marie (Jeff) and Jim (Cindy). Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Doris and Violet and many nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Niagara St. Chapel of Butler Funeral Home, 424 Niagara St. on Monday July 17, 2006 at 11a.m. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service time. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Catharine's General Hospital Foundation Future Regional Cancer Center would be appreciated by the family.

Newton: Larry - After a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease, he passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Niagara Arms Retirement Home on Thursday April 27, 2006 in his 71st year. Beloved husband for 50 years of Marilyn. Dear father of Kyle and his wife Mary and Jodie and her husband Randy Hipwell. Loving grandfather of Emilie and Bryce Hipwell and Madelyn Newton. Dear brother of Jean Ouellette (Ray), Phyllis Vance (Bill), Helen Hickey (Martin). Predeceased by Stella Bryant (Gordon), Vivian Arrand (Earl), Theresa Seguin (George) and Dorothy Clinansmith (Fred). Larry was a Pattern Maker at General Motors until he retired in1994. He was a member of White Oaks. He will be sadly missed but always remembered in our hearts.

Dear grandma of Aaron (Dana Snyder), Terry (Sherena Snyder), Joshua Pare and Dustin Bentz and great grandmother of Ethan, Olivia and Jacob Snyder and Dylan, Carley, Barrett and Lexi Snyder. Margaret was a member of St. Andrews United Church, was a Sunday School Teacher and President of the Pearl Club. Cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Chapel, Highway #20, Fronthill on Friday October 13 at 1p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Roberts: Garth Sheldon - Suddenly on Tuesday June 20, 2006. Beloved husband of Dianne. Dear father of Neil and Alison and her husband Michael Sciarra. He was devoted to his wife, daughter and son. There was no greater love than the love he had for his children. He is also survived by his brother Craig, brothers and sisters in law and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #2 and Royal Arch Masons #55. Cremation has taken place. A private funeral service was held. The family would welcome donations to the Lincoln County Humane Society in memory of Garth's beloved Trixie dog whom he missed every day.
