Mr. Steven Thomas Benoit
December 11, 1962 - October 14, 2007

Steven Thomas Benoit, 44 years, suddenly, on October 14, 2007. Loving husband to Dana (Antonello). Dear father of Taylor, Mitchell and Emily. Dear son of the late Thomas Jr.(1998) and Claire (Cloutier) (1988) and son-in-law to Donald Antonello. Dear brother to Anne (Dan Gravel); Theresa and Brad Curran; Carol and Scott McBrayne; and Joe and Darlene. Dear brother-in-law to Peggy Antonello and Joe MacDougall and the late Donna (Charles Savoy), all of Nova Scotia. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews: Devon, Hannah, Charlie, Sherry, Kalicka, Holly, Christopher and Ethan. Visting Thursday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Prayers Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The funeral will be held in Friday, October 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from The Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Road, Tecumseh to St. Anne Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Robert Couture will be the celebrant. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery. In kindness, a donation to an educational trust fund for Steve's children would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Steve in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held on September 28, 2008. All are welcome.

John "Johnnie" Robert SMITH
June 26, 1930 - October 15, 2007

John "Johnnie" Robert Smith, age 77, of Lower Vaughan's, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15th, 2007, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on June 26th, 1930, in Lower Vaughan's, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the youngest son of the late Frederick and Frances (Redden) Smith.
At the young age of thirteen, he began his life's work in the lumbering and forest management. For many years, he worked with his father and brothers in the family forestry business. He was a member of the West Hants Ground Search and Rescue Unit, and was a supporter of the Southwest Hants Fire Society. Johnnie was a life member, Elder and Clerk of Session of the Vaughan's United Church. He loved music, enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. For many years he played in the "Good Time Band", also sharing his musical talents with his church, community and friends. He had produced several cassettes and CD's of his country and gospel music. His favourite pastimes included woodworking, gardening, bird watching and he was also an avid reader. In recent years, he especially enjoyed his leisure trips into the woods with his good friend, Charlie.
Johnnie is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, the former Lois Marguerite Redden, whom he met while haying on the dykes near the Redden Farm in Martock; sisters, Emma (late Carl) Patterson and Jean (late Joe) Walker, both of Martock; sister-in-law, Doris Smith, Musquodoboit; special niece, Cheryl and great-niece, Cari; also numerous other nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Maynard Smith; Russell Smith and his wife, Annie; sister, Alma Sanford and her husband, Lloyd.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 18th, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 19th, 2007, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Craig Faulkner officiating. Interment will be in the Lower Vaughan's United Church Cemetery, Lower Vaughan's.
Family flowers only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
The Vaughan's United Church or a charity of one's choice.

Mr. Stanley Smyth
August 26, 1955 - October 14, 2007

Smyth, Stanley passed away suddenly on October 14, 2007 at Trillium Health Centre- Mississauga at age 52. Sadly missed by his children Jason and Shannan and their mother Caroline. Dear brother of Ron (Barbara), Margaret Rutledge (late Dixon), Ann Morgan (late Ron), the late Robin Smyth and his wife Kathleen of S. Africa, Isabel McDonald (Bobby), Dorothy Booth (Harold) and nieces, nephews, relatives and their families and many friends in Canada and Northern Ireland. Brother-in-law of Joan, Martin, Roy, Mavis, Phyllis and their families. Family and friends will be received at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville (Dundas Street at Ninth Line) on Saturday October 20, 2007 from 3pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 4pm in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley's memory may be made to the Trillium Gift of Life Network or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Mrs. Inez Harding
February 5, 1922 - October 16, 2007

HARDING, Inez passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the CKHA, Public General Campus on Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Born in 1922, daughter of the late Bernice and Harvey Handsor. Her husband Andrew Eugene Harding predeceased in 2000. Surviving are three daughters Sheila and husband Bryce Shreve of Chatham, Andrea Levisy of Buffalo, NY, Tracey Harding and husband Robert Hough of Toronto, three grandchildren Michael (Lisa), Lisa (Dan) and Robyn, four great grandchildren Kirsten, Jenna, Joshua and Griffin. A private memorial service will be held for immediate family only. Memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Society or the Parkinson Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Bowman Funeral Home.

Mr. Karl Spani
March 8, 1924 - October 13, 2007

passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 13, .2007 in his 84th year.
Karl Spani lived a long and interesting life. He was born and raised in Unterageri, Switzerland. He married Elsie Huber and together they lived an adventure. They had 4 children, each born in a different country. Karl worked on large construction projects in Switzerland, Portugal, New Zealand, Canada, USA and eventually settled in Toronto, Canada. He loved to wake his sons early on Saturday mornings to work on home improvement projects. In retirement he loved to travel and was proficient in several languages, particularly Spanish. He was very proud of his family and loved to visit his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR. He was very involved in his daughter’s care at Oaklands Regional Centre in Oakville, Ontario. He was very close to Natalia and Ivan Jimenez, and their children Natasha and Ivancito.
Karl is survived by, and will be missed by, his children Carlo (Marcia), Marco (Julie), Susan and René (Erin), as well as 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for a memorial service at the Glen Oaks Memorial Chapel, 3164 9th Line, Oakville (corner of Dundas and 9th Line) on Saturday October 20th at 2:00 pm. A Mass will be held at St. Christopher’s Church, 1171 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga, on Monday October 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
For many years Karl supported two children in Ecuador through World Vision. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the World Vision would be appreciated.

Mr. Michael Neil Lacey
October 14, 1923 - October 14, 2007

LACEY, Neil passed away peacefully, at home, on Sunday, October 14, 2007, his 84th birthday. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Hart). Loving father of Lynda (Edward Ashton), Kingston, Catherine, (Dr. Chris Mody) Calgary, Julie Lacey, Toronto, Joseph Lacey, Toronto, Maggie, (Matthew Dickson), Kingston and Suzanne Lacey (Dermot Stephens) of Toronto. Predeceased by his son Michael in 2000. Dear Grandpa of Michael and Lauren Ashton, Toronto, Alexandra, Sarah, Lisa, and Emily Mody, Calgary, Kate Stephens, Toronto, and Lily Lacey, Toronto. Dear brother of Wava, (Venasse Renaud) Kingston, Helen, (late Ken Netto) Watertown, Jean (Michael Breen), Kingston Predeceased by brothers Mitch, and Jack and sister Margaret. Dear brother in law of Audrey Lacey (Jack) and Ken Pappa (Margaret).
Friends will be received at the Central Chapel of Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 49 Colborne Street (at Clergy Street) on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Good Thief, Portsmouth, on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal, with prayers, at St. Marys Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Church of the Good Thief would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Minchella, Domenico passed away on Monday October 15, 2007. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7 - 9pm & Thursday from 5 - 9pm at Scott Funeral Home, "Mississauga Chapel", 420 Dundas St. E. (one block west of Cawthra Rd.), Mississauga. Funeral Mass will be Friday October 19th at 10am in All Saints Church, 1415 Royal York Rd., Toronto. Entombment to take place in Glendale Memorial Gardens, 1810 Albion Rd., Toronto.
