GOTTLIEB, Erich Astor
May 17, 1920 - October 9, 2006
Gottlieb Erich Astor passed away peacefully at 86 years of age on October 9, 2006, from natural causes at Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital.
A service will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2006 at 12:00 Noon in the Doric Masonic Hall, 475 Kingston Rd. W., Ajax - (between Westney and Church Streets) followed by a light lunch.
He will be missed by a host of family and friends in Canada, Germany, and the USA,
Survived by daughter, Trina Astor-Stewart, son-in-law, Breck Stewart and grandsons, James and Arthur Astor-Perrin.
He was preceded in death by his beloved second wife, Gertrude Maria, nee: Wurz, by his first wife, Charlotte, nee: Schreger: his parents Jakob and Magdalena Astor; his dear sister, Ilse Petrie, as well as his favorite aunt, Elise Trost.
He is survived by his dear sister, Kathe Wagenblass.
Many nieces and nephews in Germany who also mourn his passing, among whom are his sister Ilse's children - Waltraud Freudenberger, Giesela Hauck, Friedericke Wettstein and Roswith Mager.
He is also mourned by his sister, Kathe's children, Jurgen Wagenblass, Rudiger Wagenblass, and Roland Wagenblass. Gottlieb founded Astor Studio and was the family photographer and memory maker for an entire generation of families.
A founding member of The Oshawa Camera Club and The Oshawa Movie Club.
He was a church soloist for 30 years, many will recall his avid interest in flying as well.
He retired and lived in the Barrie area for several years.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gottlieb Astor Photography Room - a history and teaching facility for children within the future Whitby History Museum and Children's Centre Complex.

On Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital at age 78.
John beloved husband of Margit.
Dear father of Zoltan and Katalin. Grandfather of Jennifer, Nadia, Darrel, Khristopher, Drew, Ryan Westley, and great-granddaughter Hailey.
Survived by his brothers, Geza and Istvan.
A celebration of John's life will be held at 59 Centre Road, Uxbridge, on Friday, October 13, 2006 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m.

KIWIOR, Maria
(1926- 2006)
Maria passed away peacefully after a short stay in the Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Hospital, on Monday, October 9, 2006.
Maria was predeceased by her husband Joe of 58 years in 2000.
She is also predeceased by her brother Nick from the Ukraine.
Maria was dearly loved, and will be sadly missed by her only son Joe and his wife Kathy, as well as her grandson, Chris (Yvonne) all from British Columbia. She leaves behind her only surviving brother, Paul and his family in the Ukraine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church (411 Olive St) on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 10am.
Visitation will take place at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Friday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Prayers 8pm.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on October 9th, 2006 at the age of 73.
Beloved husband of Rita (nee England) for over 50 years, he will be greatly missed by his daughters Lorraine (Schroetter) and husband Scott LaPointe, and Ruth (Berry) and husband Blair Hitchings and grand- daughters Danielle and Chantelle.
He will also be missed by his faithful boxer, Winston.
A celebration of Gordon's life will be held Tuesday, October 17th, 2006 at 6:30 pm at COMMUNITY PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, 416 Taunton Road West, Oshawa, with service to follow at 7:00 pm.

Cherished grandmother to Derek, Kelly (Phil), Ryan (Mary), Christopher, Andrew (Cassie), Michael and great-grandmother to Mason, True and Zoe. Survived by her brother, Clifford. Predeceased by her husband, Robert Sutherland.
Phyllis was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Family and friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby (just north of Hwy 2) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2006.
