At Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, December 25th, 2003, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank M. Balson. Loved mother of Roy and his wife Beverly of Oshawa, Shirley and her late husband Don Henry of Orono, and Harry Balson of Oshawa. Dear grandmother of Lori Bessie, Karen and her husband Shawn Campbell, Paul and his wife Alisha Henry, Michelle and her husband Morton Edwards. Great-grandmother of Lindsay, Brianne and Robert Bessie; Jason and Sara Campbell; Brock and Cole Edwards; Katlynn, Donald, Emily and Grace Henry. Dear sister of Gordon Vinson and Allan Vinson. Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, December 28th. Funeral service will be held at Ebenezer United Church, 1669 Courtice Rd., Courtice, on Monday, December 29th at 11:00 a.m. Interment Ebenezer United Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Ebenezer United Church or a Charity of your choice.

DOYLE, Beatrice (nee Mullins) (Former employee of Bell Telephone and Minacs & Group). Passed away Thursday, December 25, 2003, at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa. Beatrice is the loving wife of Jerry for 38 years. Daughter of Mary Mullins and the late James Mullins. Dear mother of Byron at home and Shawn and Carey of Picton. Loving grandmother of Claudia. Dear sister of Maureen McDonald (Mark). Darrell (Bridget), Vincent (Linda) and dear sister-in-law of Cassie. Daughter-in-law of Mary Ellen Doyle. Predeceased by her step father Allan Sweeney (I 998) and her brother Jim (1996). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian burial from St. Mary of the People Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. Prayers will be heard in the funeral home. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would he appreciated. Visitation Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.

GILMORE, Francis Michael, "Mike"
Peacefully on Thursday, December 25th 2003 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in his 90th year. Predeceased by his wife Bessie. Father of Tim and his wife Nancy, Kathi and her husband Alan Willison, the late Mary and her husband Bob Linton. Poppa to Sean and his wife Brenda, Scott and his wife Cindy, Shannon and her husband Kevin Leitch, Alex and Laura Willison, Darcy and Emma Linton. Great Poppa to Jacob, Emily, Aidan, Alicia, Jack and Katy. Brother of Helen Kehoe of Perth Ontario, and late Bernard ("Butch") of British Columbia. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel" 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) on Saturday January 3rd, 2004 from 11 A.M. until time of service in the funeral home chapel at 1 P.M. KRIST, Magdaleine
Peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 25th, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Corp. Bowmanville. Magdaleine Krist in her 84th year. Predeceased by her husband John Krist. Beloved daughter Josie Music. Will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her granddaughter Julie and her husband David LeRoy. Dearly missed by extended family and friends. Resting at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905)432-8484 (4th set of lights east of Townline Road). Funeral Service will be held in our chapel on Tuesday, December 30th at 11 A.M. The family of Magdaleine received friends on Monday, December 29th from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

LUNNEY, Elsie K
At Wynfield Residence in Oshawa on Thursday, December 25, 2003 in her 89th year. Elsie beloved wife of the late Clinton Roy Lunney. Elsie, will be sadly missed by her neice Sandy Lunney McDonald. Dear sister of the late Willfred, Ralph and Douglas Carruthers. Dear aunt of Bob Carruthers and Betty Smith. Elsie is also survived by her great nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 27th at 11 a.m. Donations to St. Paul's United Church or Memorial Hospital Foundation Bowmanville would be gratefully appreciated.

REKKER, Dieuwke (Doreen)
Peacefully on Thursday, December 25th, 2003 the Lord took her home at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Gerrit Rekker. Dear mother of Siebe & Mary Rekker; John Rekker; Florence & John Dykstra; Jane & the late Stuart de Vries; Ann & Rick Morrison; Gary & Geraldine Rekker; Shiela Rekker. Loving grandmother to Sandra, Vance, Shawn, Jamie, John, Greg, Deb, Wendy, David, Donald, Cynthia, Anthony, Sherry, Tammy, Marie, Michael, Kyle, Shelly and the late Henry, and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law to Jelle and Jessica Rekker. Funeral service was 11 a.m., Monday at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH. Memorial donations may be made to Knox Christian School Bldg. Fund.

ROBINET, Albert Joseph
On Thursday, December 25, 2003, in his 84th year, died suddenly at his home in Oshawa where he lived and was cared for by his daughter and son-in-law. Born November 22, 1919 in Windsor, Ontario, he celebrated his life and gave many years to the war efforts, becoming a much decorated veteran. He was predeceased only 21 months ago by Carol, his wife of 58 years. As Carol wished, her ashes will be buried with her husband and they will rest together now in death as they did in life. Mr. Robinet is survived by his three sisters, Madeline, Edna and Bernadette, one older brother Eugene and one younger brother Henri, all of Windsor. Mr. Robinet is survived by his loving children, Dolores Zimny (Whitby), Mrs. Lorraine Banks and husband David (Oshawa) and David Robinet and wife Mary (Whitby). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mrs. Kimberly Watson and husband David (Oshawa), Gregory Banks (Oshawa), Jay Robinet (London), Kyle Robinet (Whitby) and Alicia Zimny (Toronto). Mr. Robinet was very blessed to be loved also by his great-grandchildren Brittany, Bradley and Denzel. Mr. Robinet with his never ending need to joke and humour, will be greatly and sadly missed by his many family and friends. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Viewing for Mr. Robinet will be from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. followed by a service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2003 at McEachnie Funeral Home. Interment will be for family only on Monday, December 29, 2003 at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby, Ontario. Family wishes to extend many heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those persons who helped during our time of profound bereavement.

ALLIN, Robert George (Bob)
At home on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at the age of 79 years. Bob, beloved husband of Esther (Wallace). Loving father of Mary Allin and her husband Sal Taylor, Maurice Allin and his wife Stephanie, Anne Allin and her husband Ross Hemsley. Dear grandfather of Morgan Swerdfiger and her husband Brian, Jerushia Allin, Verdon and Max Hemsley and great-grandfather of Jarrett and Rachel Swerdfiger. Loved brother of Stan Allin and his wife Wilma, Morley Allin and his wife Mildred, Betty McKeown, Doris Kenney and her husband Tom, Marie Pedwell and her husband Maurice, Jack Allin and his wife Velda, and the late Sadie McBain and Bill Allin. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral service at NEWCASTLE UNITED CHURCH on Saturday, December 27th at 2 p.m. with visitation at the Church one hour prior to the service. Donations to Thickson's Woods Land Trust, Box 541, Whitby, ON L1N 5V3 would be gratefully appreciated.

LIGHTLE, Elva May
Passed away at Marnwood Nursing Home, Bowmanville on Wednesday, December 24, 2003. Elva Allen beloved wife of the late Les Lightle. Survived by brother Bill Allen (Fay), sisters-in-law Helen Allen, Margaret Allen and her many nieces and nephews and their families. Pre-deceased by her brothers Ron and Marvin Allen. Interment on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Welcome Church Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made by cheque to the Alzheimer Society or the Parkinson Foundation.

MACLEOD, Margaret Eddy
Long-time member of St. Andrews United Church. Graduate of Victoria College, Class of 1932. Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, December 24, 2003, aged 92 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Irving Macleod. Loving mother of David (Beth) of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and Don. Dear sister of Eleanor Sanderson. Loving grandmother of Ian and James. Resting at The ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa (905-433-4711) with funeral service at Faith United Church, 1778 Nash Road, Courtice at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2003. Brother of Esther of Toronto. Son-in-law of Norma and Ron Douglas of Seagrave. Brother-in-law of Cris and Robyn Douglas of Ashburn, Pat Mounce of Toronto, and the late David Douglas. Sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and childhood friend John Moat of Innisfil. Special buddy to his four-legged companion Pepper. Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Saturday, December 27, from 1-3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 3 p.m. Donations in Ray’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
