RUEST, Lorenzo (Larry)
May 17, 1919 to December 23, 2003 Passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Gertrude by his side at the Ajax-Pickering Health Centre on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 in his 85th year. Larry is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Trudy) (nee Ottenbrite) of 51 years, his brother, Jeanot, Onil, Jean Yves, and by his sisters, Jeanine, Madeleine, and Ghislaine. Larry was born in Saybec, Quebec. He served 5 years overseas in the Second World War, after the war he lived in Whitby and worked in Oshawa, for Canadian National Railways until his retirement. Larry received numerous awards for his relentless charitable service to his community. Prayers Sunday evening 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church (903 Giffard Street, Whitby) followed by cremation. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Cancer Society.

WINDSOR, Douglas Edward
Passed away peacefully at his home in Ajax, December 23, 2003. Lovingly remembered by his children: Adam, Dyann, Annette, Dawn, Kari, Donna, Lisa, Lee, Robbie, Lorne, Data, Justice and their families, including his 14 grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at Accetone Funeral Home, on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. We'll miss you "Dad and Poppa"

At the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 22, 2003 Rose Houghten of Whitby (formerly of Preneveau Road, R.R. #3, Havelock) in her 86th year. Wife of the late John Althouse. Dear mother of Fred & his wife Ruth of Oshawa and Garry & his wife Jean of Whitby. Grandma will be missed by Peter & his wife, Denise, Brian & his wife Jennifer, Kevin & his wife Christy. Great-grandma of Madeline (Maddie). Sister of the late Frederick & Doris Houghten. Sister-in-law of Donald & his wife, Elda, Alfred & his wife, Edith & the late Osborne & Audrey Althouse. Also missed by several nieces & nephews. Resting at the BRETT "HAVELOCK" CHAPEL 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday. Service in the Havelock Pentecostal Church Monday at 1:00 p.m. Reverend John Dortono officiating. Temporary entombment Havelock Rotary Vault. If desired donations may be made (by cheque only) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Memorial Fund of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

BEVAN, Rita
Peacefully away on December 22, 2003 at Fairview Lodge Nursing Home in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Ronald. Loving mom to Howie (Debbie), Carol and her husband Rob, Sharon and her husband Don, Daughter-in-law Jackie and pre-deceased by Jeff. Cherished nana to Chad, Shane, Lee, Ginny, Jason, Sarah, Wendy, Devon, Eric, Carissa, Jill, Denice, Jennifer, Marc, and 6 great-grandchildren. Rita is sister to Joyce, Tony and Peter. A funeral service will be held at the Carruthers Creek Church (599 Bayly St.) on Saturday, December 27th, 2003 at 11 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the The Fairview Lodge Nursing Home (E wing) would be greatly appreciated.

BUCKING, Siena M.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Siena passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22nd, at the age of 55. Best friend and loving partner of Tony Farrell. Cherished daughter of Siena and the late Tony Bucking. Dearly loved sister of brothers Jan (Diane) of Brechin, Bernie (Betty) of Whitby, Gerry (Pat) of Conestoga, Tony (Jane) of Aurora, Herman (Pat) of Orton, Bill (Lucy) of Blackstock, sister of Corry (John) Schlachter of Ajax, sister and best friend Aggie of Oakville. Siena will always be remembered by her many nieces and nephews especially Jim and Michelle Scarrow and her very special extended family Ashley, Taylor, and Shelley Farrell. A special thank you to Dr. J. MacLennan and the staff of 2-East at Rouge Valley Health Care Centre Ajax. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Siena's life will be held on Saturday, December 27th at 4 p.m. at Stouffville Missionary Church 6500 Main St. Stouffville. Reception to follow. If desired, donations may be made to the Jennifer Ashleigh Foundation (for sick children) in Siena's memory R.R.#1 Uxbridge L9P 1R1 donation cards available at memorial service. Siena graduated from Pickering District Highschool and was a 30 year employee of Royal Doulton Canada.

DONATH, Ingeborg Marie Friederike
At the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 22, 2003, age 77 years. Inge Donath, of Brighton, and formerly of Picton and Oshawa, loving wife of Rolf Donath. Dear sister of Gabriella and her husband, Minas Hatzifotis of Georgetown, predeceased by her sister, Ursula. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Peter and Elke, and Holger and Sabina all of Germany, John Hatzifotis of Georgetown. Dear family friend of Dieter and Esther Keuthen, Oshawa. Service will be held at the WALAS FUNERAL HOME, 130 Main Street, Brighton, on Saturday, December 27th at 11:30 a.m. Cremation. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Kingston General Hospital or the Canadian Wildlife Federation, care of Box 96, Brighton, Ontario, K0K 1H0, would be appreciated by the family.

MacMILLAN, Mary Elizabeth
(Former member of St Andrew's United Church and current member of Calvary Baptist Church; C.A.W. Local 222)
In her 101st year, following a brief illness, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Whitby, on Monday, December 22, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Floyd. Loving mother of the late Lorne and his wife Margaret Hazel MacMillan, Murdie MacMillan and Eileen MacMillan. Dear mother-in-law of Elsie (wife of Murdie). Devoted grandmother of James and his wife Karin MacMillan, Kathryn MacMillan (Boyd), and great-grandmother of Mary and Emily Boyd. Predeceased by her eleven brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends will be received at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558), on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funera1 service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Donations made in memory of Mrs. MacMillan to Calvary Baptist Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Please note in respect of the holiday season a celebration service will be held at CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 300 Rossland Rd. E., Oshawa on Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 2 p.m.

PETERS, Eulynis Victoria
Passed away suddenly on Monday, December 22, 2003. A devoted mother, nurse, wife, sister and friend. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2003 at the Christian Life Centre, 1030 Ravenscroft Road (at Rossland) Ajax, at 11:00 a.m. Victoria will be greatly missed, and she will always be loved by all.

TAYLOR, Stanley "Fred"

After a lengthy illness, at Lakeridge Health-Bowmanville, on Monday, December 22, 2003, at the age of 63. Loving husband of Nancy. Loving father of Robert of Lindsay and Deborah of Oshawa. Dear son of Evelyn Taylor of Toronto. Fred is survived by brother Walter Taylor and sister Gladys Payer, and is sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel", 847 King St. West (905-721-1234), for visitation on Friday, December 26th from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

BANNISTER, Dorothy Louise
At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Sunday, December 21st, 2003. Beloved wife of Harold Bannister. Dear mother of Stephen & his wife, France of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Sue & her husband Ron Patterson of Georgetown. Cherished grandmother of Jason & Mark Bannister and Lindsay and Shauna Patterson. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Bowmanville Cemetery. Following the service, everyone is invited to The Wheelhouse, Wilmot Creek for a reception at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Arthritis Society or The Cancer Society.

COLGAN, Margaret (Marg)
Passed away peacefully on December 21, 2003, until recently a resident of Orchard Villa. Mum was born in Royston, England, and came to Canada, with Dad following WWII. They settled in Ajax and became very involved in the community. She was an active associate member in the Ajax Legion (Branch 322) and enjoyed the friendship of many there. Beloved wife of the late Terence Patrick. Loving mum of Patrick William, Catherine Florence, Terence John, and Maureen Felicity. Cherished granny to Andrew, Jeffery, Phillip, Keith, Michael, Liam, Jessie and great-grandmother to Tyler. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Liz, Colleen and the staff of Orchard Villa and Bay Ridges Long Term Care. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2003, followed by a Memorial Service. Donations could be made to the Charity of choice, should family and friends so desire.
