Entered into rest suddenly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
Harry MacKinnon, in his 94th year, was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie Everson. Loving father of Sharon Allan of Oshawa, Shirley and her husband Albert Switzer, Bud and his wife Diane all of Lindsay and predeceased by his son Ivan. Lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren and his many great-grandchildren and predeceased by his two grandsons Mike and Chris. Dear brother of Mae Roman of Lindsay and Jim MacKinnon of Owen Sound and predeceased by his two brothers Ernie and Willie and by his sister Flora. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

McGILLIS, Lorraine (nee Harris)
Passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2010 at the age of 74.
Predeceased by first husband Ernest Hatfield. Lorraine is survived by husband Ronald and by daughters, Barbara (Craig), Chris (Steve), Janet and Joyce (Patrick). Lorraine was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She leaves behind loving sister Mavis and brother Vernon (Rolande), as well as several extended family members from all across Canada.
Lorraine will be remembered as a loving and caring person who loved quilting and who was blessed to have many great friendships throughout her life. Those who knew her will smile when they think of her laugh.
As per Lorraine’s wishes there will be no formal service.
The family asks donations be given in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

WOODALL, Gordon Palmer (“Woody”), MD, CD
Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010, at age 78.
Beloved husband of his late wife, Donna (nee Parkinson). Woody will be greatly missed by his long time dear friend and loving companion, Barbara Howlett; his loving sons Chris, Kevin (Susan Coristine), and Rick; his sister in law Joyce Rich; his brother in law Georges Levesque, and his nieces Nicole Levesque and Michelle Levesque. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Marion (nee Palmer), brother in law Arthur Rich, and sister in law Yvonne Levesque.
Woody was born August 16th, 1931, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He was the first person in his family to attend university, graduating with distinction in pre-med studies, United College, Winnipeg, 1952. Graduated MD and BSc Med, University of Manitoba, 1957. Graduate studies in ophthalmology at Colby College and Harvard University, appointed FRCS(C) as a specialist in ophthalmology, 1965. Woody joined the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve in 1948, and the regular Navy in 1955. Attained the rank of Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander.
He served all over Canada, in San Diego, and in Zweibrucken, West Germany. Re-entering civilian life in 1970, Woody practiced as an ophthalmologist in Oshawa until 1996. He was very active in community life, serving on the board of directors of the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce, and the board of directors of the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra. President of the Rotary Club, 1980 to 1981. Woody was a great reader, a keen debater, a student of history, and a passionate fan of the Blue Jays. He loved traveling with Donna, spending winters in Hawaii; and in later years spending summers at Barbara’s cottage.
A memorial service will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. W., (905-721-1234) with visitation from 10:30am until time of service in the chapel at 11:00am on Monday, February 8th.

Beloved husband of Paraska Chmelowsky for 64 years. Loving father of Robert “Bogdan” Chmelowsky (Donna), Olga Myers (Doug) and Ihor “Ab” Chmelowsky. Dear grandfather of Jason, Aaron (Julie), Andrew (Mandi), Daniel (Melissa), Jeff (Ashlyn) and Jerrett. Great grandfather of Mackenzie, Meghan and Brooklyn. Nick will be sadly missed by his many family and friends.

It is with great sadness that our family announces David's passing on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of eighty-five.
David leaves his devoted and much loved wife of sixty-one years, Mary Ida Farrell. Cherished father, he will be forever remembered by his children and their spouses, Les and Lorraine, Patricia, Bryna, Joan and Michael Gertler, Jacqueline and Howard Schneiderman. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Sarri and Chris Morin, Barbara, and Jason Comm, Kimberly and Mitchell Tilden, Matthew and Sarah Gertler, as well as by his four great-grandchildren. Loving son of the late Bella (Wasserman) and the late Eric Comm. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Betty and Irving Federgreen, Henry and Mildred, Leonard and Louise and brother-in-law of Hughie and Donna Farrell.
A proud member of the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada and past President of both the Black Watch Association and the Côte Saint-Luc Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 97. David, along with his business partner George, worked hard to establish his own business Comm Electric, which he ran for many years.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all the special care and attention David received from the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
