CAIRNS - James of Shedden, on Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Vivian Ruth (Martin) Cairns (1993) and dearly loved father of Robert Cairns of Barrie and Cheryl and her husband Steven Garvin of Shedden. Loved grandfather of Jamie and Marty Cairns and Stephanie and Jamie Garvin and great grandfather of Michaela. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters Jenny Cairns and Janet Stewart and by 2 brothers William and Malcolm Cairns. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow, with interment of ashes in Shedden cemetery. WESTLAKE - Irene Hannah, peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 28th, 1999, in her 84th year. Irene Westlake, or Orillia and originally of St. Thomas, beloved wife of the late Frank Westlake. Loving mother of Brian and wife Lynne of Ottawa; Donald and wife Wendy Caplan of Edmonton; and Gary predeceased. Grandmother of Jennifer, Meredith, Daniel and Joshua and great grandmother of Asha and Jeffrey. Following cremation, the family will receive friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning, December 31st at 11 o'clock. Dear brother of Isobel Erickson Hearst and Wilbur and his wife June Glover, London. Wilfred is also lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren Christopher, Kerri, Kelli, Aaron, Derek, Darryl, R.J. and Jonathan; by five great grandchildren Alyssha, Tyler, Travis, Austin and Megan and by several nieces and nephews. MacKINNON - Malcolm (Mac) MacKinnon was born in Olds, Alberta on August 1, 1933. He died in Olds, Alberta December 27, 1999. Mac is survived by his wife Agnes (Breen) MacKinnon and their children Allan and Valerie MacKinnon, Burlington, Robert MacKinnon, Burlington, Grant MacKinnon, North York, John MacKinnon, Oakville and Leanne MacKinnon and Clint Condi, Calgary and seven grandchildren. Also survived by sister Marion and Donald Becker, Olds, Alberta; sister Minnie and Douglas MacKay, Cochrane, sister Helen MacKinnon, Calgary. Predeceased by a brother Donald MacKinnon (1957). Mac is the brother-in-law of Hugh and Georgette Breen, Fingal, Beverley and Paul Toohey, Lucan, Dorthea Breen, Scarborough and Margaret Pettit, St. Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Following his retirement as Captain of the 747 for Air Canada, Mac and Agnes have resided in Wicklow, Ireland for the past two years. A memorial service will be conducted in Milton on January 7, 2000.
