Carroll A. Sergeant
Carroll A. Sergeant passed away, unexpectedly, at the Kingston General Hospital, Saturday, May 20th 2000. He was born in Campbellford, May 29th 1931 to Matthew and Pearl Sergeant. He grew up in Peterborough, graduating from Peterborough Collegiate & Vocational School, Royal Military College and Queen's University. He was in the Accounting Department of Union Carbide Visking Division, in Lindsay, for a number of years, before moving to Deseronto in 1965, where he began teaching business machines, in the Commercial Department at Napanee District Secondary School. Before long, he was educating, young and old, how to operate a computer. Early on, he also assisted in coaching football and basketball, as well as being District President of the O.S.S.T.F. Following his retirement in 1993, he began editing the Seniors monthly newsletter "Reaching Out". Carroll was active in Deseronto delivering Meals-on-Wheels and at St. Mark's Church as Warden and Treasurer. For the past few years he has been attending St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in Napanee where he assisted with the Offertory and Greeting the parishioners on a regular basis. He like to golf, garden, woodwork and work at the computer. He will be remembered, with love, by his wife Diane, daughter Sandra (Ron) Seaman, son John (Janean), son Jeffrey (Barbara), daughter Mary Jo (Dennis) Kerr; grandchildren: Alex Seaman, Timothy Sergeant, Michael Sergeant, Peter Sergeant, Jennifer Sergeant, Matthew Sergeant, Brendan Sergeant, Emily Kerr and Wesley Kerr. His sister Frances Hall (Jack) lives in Long Beach, California. Carroll was predeceased by his parents, a brother Matthew and a granddaughter Amber. His funeral service, conducted by Wartman Funeral Home, was held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Napanee, May 23rd, the Rev. David Smith officiating. Pallbearers were John, Jeff and Timothy Sergeant, Ron and Alex Seaman and Dennis Kerr. Interment of ashes took place at the Deseronto cemetery , May 27th.021182

Margaret Ann Bryant
passed away suddenly on May 8, 2000, at her late residence. Margaret Bryant, predeceased by her beloved husband Danial Bryant. Also predeceased by her parents Catharine and James Taugher, and by her brothers Jim (Alice), Frank (Grace), Bill (Doretta) and her sister Catharine (Art) Blake. Survived by her nephews Art (Yvonne) Taugher, Ed (Mary) Taugher, Jim (Jeanne) Taugher, Jack (Carol) Taugher, and by nieces Sue (Sal) Vigo, Yvonne Anson and Maureen Hutchison. Friends and relatives were received at Duffus Funeral Home. The rosary was recited by Rev. Fr. O'Connor and members of the CWL and the Knights of Columbus. The funeral was celebrated at St. Josephs Church on May 11th by Rev. Fr. O'Connor, assisted by Rev. Fr. Ray Vickers. Pallbearers were six great nephews Bill Taugher, Gary Taugher, Arthur Taugher jr., Howard Taugher, Scott Taugher and Mark Amodeo. Cremation followed and she was interred at St. Mary's cemetery on May 19th by Rev. Fr. O'Connor. We would like to give a very special thanks to Aunt Marg's many friends who gave her a very good life, with a great deal of love. Special thanks to Rev. Fr. F. O'Connor and Rev. Fr. Peacefully at Carveth Care Centre, Gananoque on Thursday June 1, 2000. Mabel Edgeley in her 88th year. Widow of Stuart Mainse. Dear mother of Margaret and her husband Allen Moroughan of RR #3 Elgin, Barbara and her husband Owen Corkum of Mississauga, Malcolm and his wife Karen of Seeley's Bay, Marion Newbery of Trenton, Kenneth and his wife Bonnie of Lyndhurst, Norma and her husband John Leakey of B.C. Predeceased by son, Joseph. Predeceased by brothers, Russell, Omar, Lloyd and Bill Edgeley. Survived by step-sister, Georgina McElroy of Lyndhurst. Predeceased by granddaughter, Diane Mainse. Fondly remembered by sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Peacefully on May 29, 2000, in her 87th year. Predeceased by her parents Colonel H.T. Caldicott-Cock, M.C., RCR and Nancy Roots and by her brother Anthony Cock, M.C. Survived by her brother Lt. Cdr. Peter Cock (ret'd.) (Ottawa) and sister Molly Bonsor (England). In 1941 Pamela joined the Canadian Women's Army Corps and rose to the rank of Major. In 1949 she went to live in England, returning to Canada in 1961 and settling in Kingston where she worked at Queen's University. Private family service. Pamela was born in Halifax and always loved the ocean. Her ashes will be scattered off the coast of Nova Scotia at a future date. Cora May (Abrams) Mulholland
A lifelong resident of the Kingston area, passed away August 25, 2000 at Rideaucrest Home. Cora was the wife of the late Albert "Star" Mulholland and daughter of the late Alvanley (Van) Abrams and Lena Cox. She was 85 years of age. Cora was born in Holleford where she went to school. She was an active member of Polson Park Free Methodist Church where she was involved in Ladies Bible Study, and the Golden Harvesters Group. Her families well-being was of utmost importance to her. Cora enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and reading. Cora was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Lovelace; sons, Gary, Paul and Darryl; sisters, Reta Fairbanks, Ella Ayling, Nadine Reid, Marion King and Minnie Ridge; brothers, Ray, Gerald, Ford and Glen Abrams. She is survived by her daughter Elaine (Don) Prosser; "Aunt Mom" of Karl Reid; grandchildren, Dean (Denise) Prosser, Todd (Christine) Prosser, Coral, Jodi, Troy and Chad Prosser, Randy (Lesley) Lovelace, Lesa (Al) Ellerbeck, Janet (Mike) Del-Mei; great grandchildren, Dustin and Kayla Prosser, Riley Prosser, Chris and Shannon Lovelace, Matthew, Keirsten and Mackenzie Ellerbeck, Josh and Bailey Del-Mei; great great grandson, Owen Lovelace; sister, Joan Easter; brothers, Hub (Mad) Abrams and Audie Abrams. KEATES, Mildred Alberta
passed away September 9, 2000 at the Kingston General Hospital after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Frederick Keates and Eliza Eves. She was 94 years of age. Mildred was a lifelong resident of Kingston. She attended Robert Meek School as a child and went on to become a homemaker. She was very active at St. Paul's Anglican Church on Queen Street where she was a member of the congregation, the Friendship Club (ACW) and was involved with the soup and sandwich program. She was also a member of the Zion Sunshine Club. Mildred also volunteered at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Her special interests included quilting and other sewing, cooking, travelling, theatre, charities, studying the monarchy and spending time with her family and friends. Mildred was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Earl, Charles, William, Gordon, and James, and sister Mary. She is survived by her sister Ethel (Keates) Esford, sister-in-law Agnes Keates and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and their families. The funeral was held Tuesday, September 12, 2000 with Rev. David Ward officiating. Pallbearers were Stephen Esford, Fred Keates, Michael Ferreira, Art Keates, Chris Mason and Tom Keates. Percy Charles Busch
passed away after a lengthy illness, in the Kingston General Hospital on Friday September 15, 2000. Percy Charles Busch, dear husband of Bertha; dear father of Rodney of Kingston, and dear Grandpa of Cindy (Leo) Green, Sydenham. Predeceased by son Richard. Brother of Marvin, Kingston; and the late Collamer. Percy was retired after 21 years with the County of Frontenac Roads Department. He was a long time member of the Kingston Area Antique Associations and a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The funeral service was held at James Reid Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2000 with Archdeacon Ed Dallow officiating.
