Maynard, Dennis. After a courageous battle with cancer, at home, on Saturday April 13th 2002 . Dennis Maynard, in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn. Loving father of Dennis John and beloved son of the late Cecil and Eva Maynard. Dear brother of Ken, Alvin (Mary) and Grant (Tammie). Dennis will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME (Clapperton and Worsley Streets) Barrie on Monday from 7-9pm . Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday April 16th 2002 at 1,00pm . Interment Beeton Trinity cemetery . Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

MERKEL, Millicent Penrose passed away peacefully, with her family at her bedside, and surrounded by many friends and colleagues, at the Royal Victoria Hospital , Barrie , on Wednesday, May 8th, 2002 , in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Francis Merkel. Loving mother of Brad Merkel (Debbie) of Ottawa , and Lynn Belsey (Mark) of Ottawa . Dear sister of Robert Irving (Yvonne) of Oakville . Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie, on Saturday, May 11th, from 2,00 p.m. until the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 3,00 p.m. Donations to her memory may be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital Oncology Department.

Dear mother of Paul Muir and his wife Judy of Toronto, and Cathryn Muir of Port Coquitlam , B.C. Loved grandmother of Aaron Muir of Toronto , and Holly Jean Muir of Toronto . Sister of Ruth Beech of Hamilton, Paul Beech and his wife Muriel of Rochester, New York, Grace and her husband Lorne Dorsch of Lindsay, Murray Beech and his wife Mary of Hamilton. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie , on Sunday, from 2,00 to 4,00 and 7,00 to 9,00 p.m. Service from Collier Street United Church, Barrie, on Monday, April 29th, at 11,00 a.m. Interment Guthrie cemetery on Monday at 2,00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Collier Street United Church , Barrie , would be appreciated by the family.

Much loved grandmother of John and his wife Lois, Jason and his wife Sara, and Jeffery and his friend Trish, all of Barrie . Predeceased by siblings Raymond Toole, Noreen Grant, and Duane Toole. A special thank you to Dr. Bruce McTurk and the Nurses and Staff at Grove Park Home, for their unconditional care and support. Funeral Mass from St. Mary s Church, 65 Amelia Street , Barrie , on Friday, April 26th at 10,00 a.m. Interment St. Anne s cemetery , Penetanguishene, at 1,30. Memorial donations to the Grove Park Home Building Fund would be appreciated by the family, and may be made through the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Barrie .

COWARD, William Kitchener Bill Born April 13th, 1915 St. Catharines to Wm. Coward of Lancaster County , England and Eva Younger of Campbellford , Ontario . The day has come when Bill has left us. We feel the pain, sorrow and emptiness as a wonderful father, and best friend is no longer here. Bill passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital , Barrie on Monday, July 29th, 2002 . It is a relief that he no longer lives in heartache, pain or suffering. He was a devoted husband and best friend to his late wife Carol. Bill was a devoted father to his surviving children Lonnie and Rodney Coward, Brenda Carruthers, Kara and husband John and his youngest, Bradley Coward deceased. He is survived by loving grandchildren Christine Carruthers, Brett, Trista and Chad Coward, Michael and Jason Coward, Michelle and Cameron Beaubien as well as several great grandchildren. A caring brother to Tom and his late sisters Isobel, Grace and Norma and beloved brother-in-law to Joan Coward and Hilda Cameron. In life, Bill lived a happy life with family and friends. He enjoyed most, and missed even more, Carol his loving wife and companion of over 60 years. They enjoyed travelling together to visit friends and relatives. They loved camping and visiting those sites they dreamed of, from the west to the east coast and the far north to Alaska . Do not think of me sadly, but the good times which were many with family and friends from Craighurst to farming in Dalston and working at Rob son Lang Tannery. Life is good take each day as it comes and remember me fondly. I am at peace. Friends may call at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME, Clapperton & Worsley Streets, Barrie on Wednesday evening form 7 9 p.m. Service from St. John s Anglican Church, Craighurst on Thursday, August 1st, 2002 at 1,00 p.m. Interment St. John s cemetery , Craighurst. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
