BLEYENDAAL - On Wednesday, November 1st, 2000, Ben Bleyendaal in his 56th year and after a short illness, died peacefully at home with his family at his side. Loving husband to Joyce. Beloved dad to Tom and Amy Bleyendaal; Sandra and Glenn Williams. Dear brother of Jan and Agnes Bleyendaal (Holland), Bill and Ann Bleyendaal (Lambeth), Case Bleyendaal (Florida), Riet and Wim Beers (Holland), Louis and Coby Bleyendaal (Holland), Tom and Els Bleyendaal (Holland). Predeceased by his parents Nick and Anna Bleyendaal, brother Jack (1960), sister Annie (1989), sister Ellie (1990), brother Nick (1996),brother Henk (May 2000). Dear brother-in-law of Lien Bleyendaal (Holland), Ann Bleyendaal (Rochester, N.Y.), John and Barbara MacDonald (Mississauga), Gordon and Marianne (San Francisco), Andrew and Suzanne (Scotland). Loved son-in-law of John and Mary MacDonald (Scotland) and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special friend of John Reyers, John Loos, Casey Zebregts and Tony Moonen. Friends will be received at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North (2 blocks north of Oxford Street), London, on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral and committal service will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday,November 4th, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in living memory of Ben.

BROWN - Matilda Elizabeth of St. Thomas, on Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at her late residence, Caressant Care Home, in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Harold Brown and dear mother of Marie Dennis of Glencoe, Mary Thompson of Strathroy, Lois and her husband Ray Eveland of St. Thomas, John and his wife Barb Brown of St. Thomas. Predeceased by three children Bill, Shirley and Bobby Brown. Dear sister of Mae and her husband Lee Tanner of Petrolia, Kate McFadden of Wallaceburg, Sid McLean and partner Eileen of Petrolia, Orilla and her husband Wilf Northcott of Dresden and Jack and his wife Rita McLean of Wallaceburg and the late Jennie McNiven. Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Shetland cemetery. Visitation Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Matilda.

UNDERHILL - William David "Bill" of Langley, B.C. and formerly of St. Thomas, at Langley, B.C., in his 46th year. Dearly loved son of Barbara (Lillie) Underhill and dear father of Willy and Frances of British Columbia. Dear brother of Susan Underhill of London and Lorraine and her husband Michael Floyd of Russell. Loved uncle of Lorraine, Michael and Joey. True friend of Sharon and Bill Humphries of Langley, B.C. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A private family service will be held on Saturday. Cremation with ashes to be interred in Elmdale cemetery. A donation will be made to the Memory Gardens of Pinafore Park in remembrance of Bill.

Mansell - At her residence on Sunday, November 5th, 2000. Shirley Ellyn Mansell of St. Thomas in her 66th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert John Mansell (1992) and dearly loved mother of Steven and his wife Mary-Anne Mansell; John and his wife Cherie Mansell and Anne and her fiance Ilija Kopic all of St. Thomas. Dear sister of Stan and his wife Margaret Henry, Calgary; Frank and his wife Lindsay Henry, Chatham; Brenda and her husband Doug Gooding, New Zealand and Gerry and his wife Marilyn Henry, St. Thomas. Shirley is also lovingly remembered by three grandchildren Darren, Kelsey and Conner Mansell and by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St. St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Elmdale cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A donation will be made to the Memory Garden at Pinafore Park in Remembrance of Shirley.

MUNN - At the Four Counties Health Service in Newbury on Saturday, Nov. 4th, 2000, Geraldine Munn, a resident of Babcock Nursing Home Wardsville, and formerly of West Lorne in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Munn. Loved mother of John and his wife Terry of West Lorne, James and his wife Marilyn of West Lorne, Carolyn and her husband Wayne Martin of Windsor, Linda and her husband Stuart Simpson of Glencoe, Gerald and his wife Debbie of Rodney. Loved grandmother of Debbie Carmichael, Gary, Ron and Kevin Schneider, Terry and Kelly Simpson, Trevor, Dwayne, Wade and David Munn. Great grandmother to Charlene and Derek Carmichael, Jackson Simpson-Felkar and the late Denver Simpson-Felkar. Predeceased by two brothers, Murray and Allan Levrington and two sister, Sadie Branchflower and Muriel Pyatt. Special aunt to Don and Eleanor Branchflower of Glencoe and Murray Pyatt of St. Thomas. Geraldine was a talented pianist and an avid gardener. Friends and relatives may call at the West Lorne Chapel on Monday, Nov. 6th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Tues. Nov. 7th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor S. Patterson officiating. Interment Evergreen cemetery West Lorne. If desired, donations to the Babcock Nursing Home Auxiliary or the Four Counties Health Services would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Padfield Funeral Home 785-0810.

POLISAK - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, November 4th, 2000. Peter Polisak of St. Thomas in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Mary (Limacher) Polisak and dearly loved father of Joe and his wife Joanne Polisak, London; Patricia Carter, London; Rita and her husband Bob Withenshaw, St. Thomas; William Polisak, Ottawa; James Polisak, London; Joan and her husband Jerome Thomas, St. Thomas and June and her husband Craig Richardson, London. Dear Bother of Angela Burridge and Len Polisak both of London. Peter is also lovingly remembered by twelve grandchildren Peter, Tricia, Rita, Laura, Ann Aaron, Charlene, Paula, Anja, Lisa, Kurt and Loren, by three great grandchildren Kerry-Ann, Joshua and Danielle and by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Wednesday morning and then to St., Anne's Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Angels' cemetery. visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Remembrances may be made to the Cancer Society, Palliative Care or the St. Anne's Church Building Fund. A donation will be made to the Memory Garden at Pinafore Park in Remembrance of Peter.

RIVERS - At his late residence on Sunday, November 5, 2000. Charles R. Rivers of Caressant Care on Bonnie Pl., St. Thomas, in his 91st year. Son of the late Charles A. and Leeora (Pressey) Rivers. Brother of Mrs. Helen Thomas, Mrs. Violet McLorn, Mrs. Gladys Goodhue and her husband Harold, all of St. Thomas, William L. Rivers and his wife Marjorie and Thomas A. Rivers and his wife Jean, all in Alberta. Also survived by sister-in-law, Mrs. Norma Rivers of R.R. #3, Iona Station and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Frank A., Harry E., Richard C., Glenn F. and Stanley J. Rivers. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Monday from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment inthe Soldiers Plot of South Park cemetery , St. Thomas.

VOLLAND - at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, November 3, 2000. S. Robert "Rob" Volland of St. Thomas and formerly Sarnia in his 37th year. Beloved husband of Michelle (Bourrie) Volland of Sarnia. He will be sadly missed by his grandmother Eileen Timpany and a number of uncles, aunts and cousins. Predeceased by daughter Danielle Marianne. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation. Interment of ashes in the Calton cemetery. Rev. Cam Watts, officiating. Donations to theDiabetes Assoc. would be appreciated.

KELMAN - Sanford M. Kelman, 75, of Poinsett Street, died Sunday, November 5, 2000 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He came to the Myrtle Beach area from St. Thomas, in 1986, where he had been the president of the synagogue there. He was a tennis pro and a Rotary Club member. Survivors include three daughters; Deborah Ditzel of Milford, NH, Tonya Sullivan, of Bradenton, FL and Mia Ibayan of Sacramento CA, and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. Rabbi Mitchell Kornspan will officiate. Burial will be private.
