WIGCHERT - At Sarnia General Hospital on Sunday, March 16, 2003, MARY (SNAUWAERT) WIGCHERT, of Sarnia. Mary was born Dec. 5, 1912, Schuferskappela, Belguim. Emigrated to Canada with her late parents, Henri and Emily (Bruneel) Snauwaert, and three older siblings. Survived by loving daughters Elsie (Van Gaver) & husband Joe Seward, Sarnia, Aileen (Van Gaver) and husband Richard Jean, Thornhill and Margaret (Van Gaver) and husband Larry Baker, Unionville. Cherished grandmother of Craig Seward, Loy Seward Graham, Susan Baker, Jayne Baker and John Baker. Great-grandmother of Michael & Steven Graham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews,step- sons Frank, Neil and John Wigchert, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Sister of Paul Snauwaert, Bertha Jaecques and Irene Hoskin. Sister-in-law of Joyce and Mary Snauwaert. Predeceased by infant daughter Martha Van Gaver, infant grandson Thomas Baker, husbands Marcel Van Gaver (1953) Harold Colledge (1977) and Frank Wigchert Sr. (1998), brothers George, Alphonse, Camille Snauwaert and sister Evona Van Gaver (Feb.2003), step-daughter Audrey Colledge Cottrell, step-grandson Brian Wigchert and step-son-in-law Len Cottrell. Mary worker at St. Joseph's Hospital in the children's ward and retired with over 20 years service. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Beloved husband and best friend of Mary (Hounsell). Loving father of Anne Tilley & husband David. Devoted grandfather of Laura and Michael (Oakville). Brother of Stefan Kurzymski & wife Wiesia (Gdansk, Poland) and Janine Orepuk & husband Michael (Torun, Poland). Brother-in-law of Theresa Beresford (Clive - deceased). Favourite uncle of Pauline & Mark Dockrill and favourite great-uncle of Heather and Ali. Relative of George (Rita) Redfern (Pennsylvania), Mary Brown (Sheffield, England), Antonia Fox (Guernsey, Channel Islands). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins in Poland. Predeceased by his parents Nicholas & Rosalie Kurzymski, sisters Agnes, Mary and Anna. Andrew served in the Polish 2nd Corps -Tank Division carrying out the fourth and last assault on Monte Cassino in WWII. He was a member of the Polish Combatants Association and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62. Andrew came to Canada in 1952 and was employed by Fiberglas Canada, retiring in 1985.
