Reverend Father Franc Sodja

Peacefully at Dom Lipa, Etobicoke on Sunday, July 15th, 2007 in his 94th year and in his 67th year as a Priest. Reverend Father Franc Sodja entered the Vincentian Order of Religious Priests in Slovenia and was ordained on March 12, 1936. Predeceased by his parents Janez and Maria and his 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Lovingly remembered by his many religious brothers, nieces, nephews and family. Resting on Tuesday at Dom Lipa, 52 Neilson Drive from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 739 Browns Line from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Holy Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 19th. Interment Assumption cemetery , Mississauga. In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Slovenian Apostolic Circle, 739 Brown s Line, Etobicoke, Ontario M8W 3V7 would be appreciated.

Cherished son of Cristina (Catalano); predeceased by his loving father Vittorio Agostinelli (2004). Beloved husband of Antoinette (Di Pierdomenico) of 37 years. Dearly loved father of Gregory (Monique), Giancarlo (Marianella) and Laura. Devoted and adored grandfather "Nonno" to Abbey and Julian. Fervent in his love of the faith and ardent in his service to the community, Fernando was a knighted member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. APrincipal of the firm, Carruthers and Wallace Ltd., Fernando helped build the company over 37 years, contributing to the structural landscape of the City of Toronto (Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto Eaton Centre, Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts/Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, General Motors Manufacturing Plants, General Foods, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and numerous other hospitals and schools). Fernando was the heart of a close and dynamic family and enriched the lives of those around him with his love, compassion, spirituality and friendship and his tireless, passionate devotion to faith and family. He shall be sadly missed and forever fondly remembered. Resting at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street. JOHN RAYSON ADAMS July 9, 1916 - January 26, 2006 World War II VeteranIn his 90th year, John Rayson Adams passed away peacefully after a long struggle with complications after a stroke. He died at Brampton Memorial Hospital with his wife and daughter at his side. John was the loving husband of 53 years to Maureen (Diaz) and father to John Andrew Adams (Ruth Ann) of Dartmouth, NS, Christopher Charles Adams of Mississauga and Dolores Eileen Adams of Brampton. Son Richard Rayson Adams predeceased 1997. He was the loving grandfather of Ruthmarie (Halifax, NS), Christopher, Andrea, Hannah and Susanna Adams (Dartmouth, NS). He was the son of the late Charles Adams of Donavon, SK and Annie Rayson of York, England. John R. was born in Saskatoon, SK. He leaves his brother Richard (Anne) Adams and nieces Barbara (Roy), Sheila (Brian and family), Arlene and nephew Murray (Shauna and family), all residing in Saskatchewan, and cousins in BC and in England. John joined the RCAF and was loaned to the RAF as part of their Radar Crew. He was stationed in North Africa, Italy and Northern England. After the war, he returned to the University of British Columbia and received his B.A. and B.Ed. in 1949. In 1950, he received a BLS from the Faculty of Library Science (University of Toronto). In 1952, he married Maureen Dolores Diaz (BLS, 1950). He worked in the Public and University Library fields. He was branch librarian in Niagara Falls, chief librarian in Welland and Brampton, ON, acquisitions librarian in University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, reference and circulation librarian in Leeds, England, Mississauga and Etobicoke Public Libraries. He also worked for Sheridan College in Brampton. He was the co-founder with wife Maureen of the family puppetry theatre - The Adams Marionettes. He designed and made the marionettes' stage, and he developed the sound and lighting for their marionette productions. The whole family was involved. They performed in libraries and schools in Southern Ontario. When John retired he and Maureen travelled to many puppetry festivals in Canada and the USA. John wrote articles for the local paper in Welland and in Brampton. His interests were in science and he loved books, especially on cosmology. Although he suffered from clinical depression, he remained a very creative, caring and loving father, husband and grandfather. The family would appreciate donations in John R's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Mental Health Association or to the Unitarian Congregation of South Peel. Cremation has take place, arranged by Ridley Funeral Home, 416-259-3705. Celebration of John R's life will be held at the Unitarian Church of South Peel on Sunday, March12, 2006 at 3 p.m. Come sing a song with me Come sing a song with me that I might know your mind And I'll bring you hope Where hope is hard to find And I'll bring you a song of love, and a rose in the wintertime.

RODOLFO ABCEDE - It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, brother, and uncle, Rodolfo C. Abcede on Monday, March 6, 2006 at the age of 64. He was loved and cherished by all those who knew him. Rodolfo leaves behind many friends whom he made over the years. He loved working with others and enjoyed making friends. He contributed his kindness and friendliness as an active member of the congregation of Christ Centered Alliance Church. Rodolfo will be dearly missed by the many lives he touched.
