EVANS, Dorothy Ellen

Dorothy was called into the arms of God on Thursday, December 28th, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the dear sister of the late Robert Evans and sister-in-law to Veneida. Dorothy was a wonderful and caring aunt to Shirley and Tony Cornacchia, Bob and Donna Evans, Dave and Liz Evans, Tom and Marilyn Evans, Ina and Andy Greenwood, Phyllis and Russ Hyde and Paul Evans. She was warm and loving to her 17 great nieces and nephews and five great great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Minden, Ontario on Saturday, January 20th, 2001 at 11 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Easter Seals Society or to the Arthritis Society of Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., Minden (1-888-588-5777).

LIVSEY, Alfred Hilker

passed away peacefully at the Leisureworld Nursing Home, Gravenhurst on Sunday, January 7th, 2001. At the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Grace Ada Livsey. Dear father of Alfred George Livsey and June Bernice Baker. Cremation has taken place. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place at Minden cemetery in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Main Street, Minden (1-705-286-2181.)

GANZEVOORT, Michael (Red)

After a courageous fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), Michael (Red) Ganzevoort, 65 years of age, was taken to be with his Lord. A dear husband to Betty, father of Shelley and Gary Claus, Sandra Ganzevoort Pelzer and her husband Richard Pelzer, Michele and Evert Veenendaal, grandfather to Trevor, Brittany, Michael, Jacqueline and Joel. Red was a valuable member of the community serving as a member of the St. Catharines Flying Club, owner of Red's Garage Ltd., and an influential part in the revision of the Mechanics Apprenticeship Board. Red was an adventurous spirit whose creed became "The more you challenge life, the more challenging it becomes." Cremation has taken place. Family received friends at the George Darte North Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life was held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 278 Parnell Road on Friday at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS would be appreciated by his family.

PAYNE, William "Bill" Francis

passed away suddenly in Florida on Sunday, January 21st, 2001 in his 73rd year. Loving husband of the late Jeanette Faye (nee Jardine). Loving father of Warren and his wife Sue of Minden, Barbara and her husband Wayne Fawcett of Maple Lake, Stephen and his wife Cecile of Sudbury, father-in-law of Raymond Gagnon of Cornwall and predeceased by his daughter Jackie and son Phillip. Loving grandfather of Carmelle, Nicholas, Amanda, Graeme, Adam, Andre, Natasha-Lin and Jonathon. Dear brother of Bob (Ollie) of Caledon East, Frank (Carol) of Barrie, John (Evelyn) of Brampton, Buddy Bath (Carol) of Wasaga Beach and brother-in-law of Larry and Shirley Jardine of Thornhill. Son of the late Francis Payne and Faye Weir. Step-son of Anne Payne of Brampton. Dear friend of Norma Douglas of Minden. Friends were invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Main Street, Minden K0M 2K0 (1-888-588-5777) on Friday, January 26th, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, January 27th, 2001 from 12 o'clock noon until the time of the Service to Celebrate Bill's Life at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Minden. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Donations to the Hyland Crest Residents Fund or to the Extendicare Old Timers Group would be appreciated by the family. Masonic Service was held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

CASSIDY, Percy Joseph

Died peacefully at Leisureworld, Muskoka Nursing Home, Gravenhurst, on Friday, January 26, 2001, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Minerva (nee Keal) of Bracebridge. Dear father of Helen Parkhouse (Bob) of St Catharines, Wayne Cassidy (Marilyn) of Peterborough. Grandfather of Wayne Parkhouse of St. Catharines and Jeff Cassidy (Ruth) of Mississauga. Brother of the late Hilda Kelly. Friends were received at the Reynolds Funeral Home, "Turner Chapel", Bracebridge, on Sunday, January 28. The funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 11 a.m. As your expression of sympathy memorial gifts to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the Family.

WILLIAMSON, Mildred Emma (nee Swinson)

At Ballycliffe Lodge, Ajax, Ontario on February 6th, 2001 in her 85th year. Loving wife of the late Walter Williamson, mother of Tommy Williamson and wife Sharon of Pickering. Grandmother of Lori Dolan and husband Russ of Ajax, Lee Williamson and wife Stephanie of Brooklin. Great grandmother of William R. Dolan and Mark A. Dolan. Sister of Vivian Anderson of Lindsay and predeceased by sisters Phyliss Austin of Edmonton, Alta., Greata Reeds of Burnt River, Ont., Naida Brown of Kinmount, Ont., and by brothers Ira Swinson of Lindsay, Ont., and Mark Swinson of Kinmount, Ont. Before retiring Mildred worked for Blue Cross and OHIP (Yonge & Eglinton, Toronto). Friends were invited to visit the family at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Main Street, Minden K0M 2K0 (1-888-588-5777) from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8th, 2001 at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at the Kinmount cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimers Society of your area would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Suddenly on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at Haliburton Medical Centre. Jack is survived by his two sons Robert Ryan and Gary Ryan and families.

BOXALL, Keith Albert, Aged 5 years

Suddenly at home in Barrie. Beloved son of David and Marie and brother of Kevin and Michael. Sadly missed by his grandparents Gary and Carol Bloor, Rance and Marleen Pardy and Roy and Mable Boxall. Loving nephew of Karen Warner, James Boxall, John & Heather Boxall, Rick and Diane Lichty and Darryl and Donna Hudson and cousin of Chris Boxall, Jessica Gillis and Jacob Hudson, all of Minden, missed also by several aunts, uncles and cousins. A private family service has been held.

BURTON, Helen Dorothea (nee Wilson)

Peacefully at Hyland Crest Senior Citizens Home, Minden on Tuesday, February 6th, 2001 in her 80th year. Helen spent many years with Loblaw's Head Office, Comptroller at Moore Business Forms, Director at 500 Placement Services and Retired from Color Your World Company. Loving wife of James E. Burton, predeceased by her sister Ruth Alton of Mississauga and brother Irwin of Detroit. Helen spent her many years of retirement golfing, curling and was a Charter Member of the Minden Lawn Bowling Club. Helen spent many years in service with the Canadian Red Cross and the Arthritis Society and worked with Seniors in Etobicoke for many years. She will be missed by her many loving nieces and nephews. By her wishes there will be a Private Family Service at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Main Street, Minden K0M 2K0 (1-888-588-5777). Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Salvation Army or to the Alzheimers Society of your area would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Beloved wife of the late Morgan Prentice, dear mother of Bill and his wife Lenore of Minden, predeceased by Jack. Special grandmother of Bonnie Lee and Steve Berry, Paul and Patti Prentice, Bev and Rick Kinsman and Tammy McKelvey. Great grandmother of Cameron and his wife Joanne, Tanya and Jessica Berry, Simon and Brittany Prentice, Rich and Andy Kinsman, Chelsea and Justin McKelvey. Dear sister of Stuart and Bryce Cheney, predeceased by Bert Cheney. Friends were invited to call at the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., 127 Main Street, Minden (1-888-588-5777) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel on Sunday, February 11th, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be held at the Minden cemetery in the spring.
