WINDREM, GLADYS KATHLEEN (nee Fanning)

35 year member of St. John’s United Church, Elmvale, and founding member of Northwest Barrie United Church

passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Friday, April 8th, 2005. Gladys Windrem (nee Fanning) of Barrie was in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of 55 years to Dr. John Windrem. Loving mother of Bill Windrem, Peter Windrem, and Jane Trakalo and her husband Murray. Dear grandmother of Johnathan and David. Sister of Margaret Spensley. Predeceased by Bus Fanning, and Gord Fanning.

Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley Streets, Barrie, on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Service from Northwest Barrie United Church on Monday, April 11th at 1:00 p.m.

passed away after a lost battle with cancer on Monday April 11, 2005 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in her 85th year. Evelyn of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Walter (1995). Loving mother of Donald and his wife Lynne, Maxine and her husband David Reid, Merle and her husband Nick Deliyiannis, Jim and his wife Jayne, Audrey and her husband Roger Harvey and the late Dee. Dear grandmother of ten grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Survived by her brothers Keith (Vera) Hannon, Howard (Deloris) Hannon, James (Dorothy) Hannon and sister-in-law Elsie. Predeceased by her brother Leonard Hannon and her sister Ada Hannon.

Grandson of Rudolph and Margaret Giesa, Geraldine Shipton and Fernand Houle. Daniel will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Doting Granddad of Russell, Jonathon (Karen), Mathew (Julie). TJ (Venessa), Adam & Stephanie. Big brother of Roy (Barbara) & family in England. A good friend of Ron Eaves. Tom was a British Royal Navy WW 11 Vet.

passed away peacefully at the Sara Vista Nursing Centre, Elmvale on Friday, September 2, 2005. Gord Kirby of Orr Lake, In his 93rd year. He is survived by his brother Lloyd Kirby, daughter-in-law Marlene Kirby and grandchildren Darlene & husband Tony, Debbie & husband Kerry, Darren & wife Donnell, David & Sarah and 5 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces & nephews and their families. Sadly missed by companion of 26 years Rita McConnell, many dear friends and Do Do of Edmonton and brother-in-law Lawrence Veal & Elva and good friend Alex Hutton. Gordon was pre-deceased by his mother Adelaide and father Thomas Henry, wife Ivy (Boot) Kirby and only son Brian Kirby, three sisters and six brothers. God Bless you Gord and may you be at peace, re-united with your large family.

KELLY, SUSAN MARIE

Released from pain at last, in her 44th year from Brain Cancer on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Penetanguishene General Hospital. Passed from the loving arms of her husband and best friend, Alan David Kelly of Barrie to be reunited with brothers Thomas Park and Peter James. Devoted mother of Cailin Meaghan. Cherished daughter to Ruth and Clarence Madill, sister to Sarah Jane (Michael) Strickland and aunt to her son Darryl Varey of Calgary. Beloved daughter-in-law to Rachel and Adam Kelly, sister-in-law to Ron and Serena all of Port McNicoll. Loved God daughter of Carol and Harry Helfenstein and Barbara and Ralph Petzke. Special "aunt" to Josh, Garrett and Alyssa. Former Pharmacy Tech at Sandy Cove Drugs and Wal-Mart, Barrie. While attending Kipling Collegiate Susan became a Chief Petty Officer at R.C.S.S.C. Illustrious and earned her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. After moving to Barrie she used her experience as a Canada Cord Guide to become a Leader to Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders. Her family was always her first priority, and remained so till the end. Remembrances to a TV procurement fund at Penetanguishene General Hospital for Palliative Care patients in Susan's name would be appreciated. This may be done through Alan Kelly.

FLEMING, C. JEAN

Peacefully passed away on Wednesday March 30, 2005 at the General & Marine Hospital, Collingwood in her 76th year. Jean of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Etobicoke, loving wife for over 48 years to David. Beloved mother of Neil and his partner Maria Cioffi of Boston, Mass., Bruce and his wife Liz of Markham and Jeannie and her husband Chris Day of Mississauga. Dear grandmother of Laurie, Christopher, Sarah, Nicholas, Douglas, Emily and Ethan. Survived by her sister Dorothy Mackenzie of Truro, Nova Scotia, sister-in-law Ellen Hayward of Pictou, Nova Scotia and nephews George (Carol) MacKenzie, and Jack, Doug and Bob Hayward. Predeceased by her brother Jack Hayward. Jean was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1929. She recovered from Polio at age 13 and went on to receive the gold medal at Pictou Academy upon graduation. Jean lived an artistic life through her painting, cake decorating, needlework and piano music. She also was an avid reader and gardener. All who knew her will miss Jean dearly.
