SUMMERS, Barbara Agnes
Born in Pembroke, Wales, on May 7, 1920, Barbara passed away in Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at 81 years of age. Loving aunt and parent to her three nephews Anthony Alderton of Ottawa, Timothy and Michele Alderton of Red Lake and Jeremy and Lynn Alderton of Brampton. Sadly missed by her five grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas of Red Lake and Allison, Joshua and James of Brampton. Barbara is pre-deceased by her sister Joan and her husband Ken Alderton, and survived by her brothers Fred and (the late) Vee Summers, Bern and Ruth Summers, Jack and Dorothy Summers, all of Burlington, Father Richard Gwyn of Caldey Island, Wales, as well as by her sister Julie and Bern O'Brien of England. There are also many nieces, nephews and extended family throughout Canada and the United States who will miss her greatly. After emigrating to Canada in 1954, Barbara worked as a legal secretary for most of her careeer, retiring at age 70 from O'Marra and O'Marra in Port Credit. Friends may be received at WARD FUNERAL HOME, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Sunday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment Trafalgar Lawn cemetery.

BIRCH, Fred
Suddenly, at Milton District Hospital, surrounded by all his family, on Sunday November 4, 2001, Fred Birch of Kilbride, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Charlotte and dear father of Wayne and Susanne of Dundas and Gordon and Lynn of Hamilton, and Step Dad of Peggy Smith of Milton, Brian and Heather Smith, Dan and Marjorie Smith and Linda and Bill Bewick all of Kilbride. Loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, Dear brother of Maxine and husband Graeme Davies of Vancouver B.C. and uncle of Brian and James. Friends called at the Kitching-Steepe Funeral Home, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service was held from Kilbride United Church on Wednesday at 2 P.M. Interment in Carlisle cemetery. Donations to the Kilbride United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

JAGER, Peter
At the Milton District Hospital on Tuesday, November 6th, 2001. Peter Jager of Milton, beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Angela. Dear son of Elizabeth Hullar and brother Csaba of Don Mills. Son-in-law of Liz and her husband Joe, Phyl and husband Gianni, Tina and husband John, Angie and husband Victor and Patty and husband Nick. Peter will be greatly missed by his uncle Ted, cousin Julie and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends visited at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 114 Main Street Milton, 905-878-4452 on Wednesday and Thursday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 139 Martin Street Milton on Friday, November 9th, 2001 at 11:00 am. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

JOSS, Dilys
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dilys Joss (nee Hughes) on Monday, November 5, 2001. She will be greatly missed by her husband and best friend Donald and her sons David, Dean and Douglas. Will also be missed by her sister Glenys Huws, brother-in-law Harry Oussoren and nephews Joel and Jeremy. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held from St. Paul's United Church, Milton on Friday, November 9th at 1PM. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Milton District Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements through the J. Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James St., Milton. "Our loss is Heaven's gain."

RAKUSH, Walter William
passed away November 3, 2001 with his loving family by his side. Walter was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed. "Until we meet again."

SIMS, June Barbara
On Monday, November 5, 2001 at Emmanuel House in Hamilton, June Sims in her 69th year. Beloved wife of the late Bernie Sims. Cherished Mum of Barbara and Rod MacDonald of Oakville, Debbie Sims of Hamilton and Elaine and Stephen McDougall of Milton. Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Patrick, Bill and Lauren MacDonald and John, Brian and Gregory McDougall. Also survived by her brother Reg Williams and his wife Joyce of England. Friends were received at the J. Scott Early Funeral Home on Wednesday. A Funeral Service was held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 8th. A private interment followed. In lieu of flowers, donations to Emmanuel House, 90 Stinson St., Hamilton, ON, L8N 1S2 or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

SMITH, Larry Gilbert
At the Milton District Hospital on Wednesday, November 7th, 2001. Larry Smith, beloved husband of Patricia Smith. Loving father of David and Betty Smith, Linda Innes and Greg Smith. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Consuelo Castaneda, Judy Smith, and Vicky Smith. Dear great grandfather of Maria and Ashley. Predeceased by his parents David Charles and Gladys Smith. At Larry's request there will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society may be made by calling the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 114 Main St. Milton 905-878-4452.

PEARCE, Roger Edwin
Peacefully at home Friday, November 1st. after a courageous battle with cancer in his 63rd year. Best Friend and cherished husband of 40 years of Gayle (nee Massey). Born in Amherstburg, Ontario, and long time resident of Burlington, Ontario. Much loved father of Bryan (Cathy), Kelly (Paul) and Jodi. Devoted and beloved Poppa of Caitlin, Devon, Reagan, Luke, Tara and Camryn. Predeceased by daughter Kristen and grand-daughter Kennedy. Survived by his brother Morley and his wife Sally of Florida. Roger was a 34 year employee of Ford Motor Company, Bramalea. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME 1167 Guelph Line, BURLINGTON (one stoplight north of the QEW) on Monday, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where a Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sue Archibald and VON nurses, Shirley Dowd and Bonnie Traher for their compassion and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Halton VON Palliative Care Services. You were our inspiration and role model, we'll miss you tremendously. You were our rock!

Loved mother of Josee Gerdina and her husband Leslie Vandor and Janine Dorothy and her husband Gregory Fleet. Cherished Oma of Jonathan, Vivienne, Dara, Owen, Calder and Simon. Dear sister of Annie, Marie, Klaas and the late Alida. Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Sunday. Funeral service 11:00 am Monday, November 4th, 2002 in the chapel. Cremation. Those who wish may make memorial donations to a charity of their choice.

GAUTHIER, Michelle
On Wednesday, October 30th, 2002 at the age of 58. At home in Carlisle, surrounded with much love by her family, after a very brave battle with cancer. She was an amazing person all her life, but never moreso than her last few weeks. Deeply loved wife and soulmate of Nick for 37 wonderful years. Nurturing mother and friend of Andrea Butler and her husband Trent of Burlington and Erin Scannell and her husband Steve of Milton. Adoring grandmother who could never get enough of her four grandchildren: Morgan, Annika, Kiara and Chad. Loving daughter of Corinne of Peterborough and the late Camille Ducharme. Eldest sister of Nicole Mahon and her husband Jeff of Boca Raton, Joffre Ducharme of Barrie, Lise Ribout of Sudbury, Cammy Ducharme of Mattawa, Monique Ducharme of Toronto and Suzanne Ducharme of Peterborough. Much loved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Michelle spent 34 years in nursing. Described by her peers as "a nurse in a million", she was Director of Nursing at Allendale in Milton when she retired in 1999. After her retirement Michelle devoted her energy to the establishment of the Allendale Foundation, of which she proudly served as the Chair. Michelle will be dearly missed by many close friends, her golfing ladies and former co-workers. Family and friends may visit at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 114 Main St. Milton 905-878-4452 form 7-9 pm on Friday and 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Sunday. A Vigil Service will be held Sunday evening at 8:30 pm at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 4th, 2002 at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 139 Martin St. Milton. Interment to follow at the Milton Evergreen cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society of the Allendale Foundation would be appreciated by the family. It's love, not money that makes you rich." Michelle was a very rich woman indeed.

LEE, Frances
At the Milton District Hospital on Wednesday, October 3th, 2002. Frances Lee of Milton, beloved wife of the late Bruce Lee. Loving mother of Carol and her husband Peter McGillivray, Bruce and his wife Alice Lee, Robert and his wife Sherry Lee, Janice and her husband Mike VanReisen, Diane and her husband Jeff Robertson and Beverley Lee and her friend Joel Hicks. Dear sister of Margaret Allen and Eleanor and her husband Doug Shea. Frances will be missed by her 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Family and friends may visit at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 114 Main St. Milton 905-878-4452 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday. THOMPSON, Kathleen (Kaye) nee Drennan
Peacefully at Allendale in Milton in her 102nd year, on Wednesday, October 30th, 2002. Kaye Thompson, a long time resident of Milton and beloved wife of the late Frank Thompson. Dearly loved and much admired by her daughter Helen Groenweg of Ottawa and her son Griffin of Toronto. She is remembered fondly by her five grandchildren and her legacy continues through nine great grandchildren. Always keenly interested in her community, she had been an active member of the I.O.D.E. for many years and an ardent member and supporter of Grace Anglican Church. At mid-life she joined the Halton County Health Unit and became a valued employee there until her retirement. The family will receive friends at the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home 114 Main St. Milton 905-878-4452 from 2pm to 4pm on Friday, November 1st, 2002. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm at Grace Anglican Church 317 Main St. Milton on Saturday, November 2nd, 2002 followed by the interment at St. Stephen's Anglican Church cemetery in Hornby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Grace Anglican Church in Milton.
