KITELEY, Renée Allison

After a courageous battle of Acute Leukaemia, with her family at her side, at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, on Tuesday, December 28, 2004. Renée Kiteley age 16 years. Beloved daughter of Tammy Beauchamp and Jon Kiteley both of Deep River. Loving sister of Kelly, Heidi and David all at home. Cherished granddaughter of Dianne Lance (Brian) of Deep River and Denzel Beauchamp (Brenda) of Rolphton and the late Rex and Doris Kiteley. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Saturday from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Monday at 11:00 A.M. Interment Deep River cemetery. In memoriam donations to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario would be gratefully appreciated.

SPENCE, Jane Elliott

After a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, December 31, 2004. Jane Spence age 64 years. Loving mother of Sherry Pettigrew, Monica Surrett (Peter McCoy) and Melody McKellar all of Ottawa, Patty Mussell and her husband Steve of Bowmanville, and Dan Pettigrew of St. Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Chris and Zach Surrett and Kaylee McKellar all of Ottawa, Jason and Bryden Mussell of Bowmanville and Bennett and Spence Pettigrew of St. Thomas. Dear sister of Richard Spence and his wife Colleen of New Liskeard. Loving aunt of Travis Spence and his wife Kristy of Cambridge and Scott Spence and his wife Brandie of New Liskeard. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service was conducted in the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Monday, January 3 at 3:00 P.M. In memoriam donations to the Special Olympics Program, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
Jane's family would like to thank Doctors Bushby and Noulty and the phenomenal Nursing Staff of the Deep River and District Hospital, Doctors Nicholas and Girard of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, the Ambulance attendants, friends too numerous to name and the volunteer drivers of the Cancer Society without whom "being at home" would not have been possible.

HARROP, Timothy James Crichton

Suddenly on December 25, 2004 in Madoc, Ontario. Born in Yorkshire, England (August 31, 1943). Crichton received his schooling in Cold Lake, Alberta, Etobicoke, and Mackenzie High School, Deep River. Predeceased by his father James Henry Harrop (1994) and older sister Ann Marie (1942). Survived by his children Siobhan Harrop-Scott (Geoff) and Clark Harrop (Katherine), mother Elma Harrop and sister Corinne Falconer (Bob). Much beloved and much missed by his family and by the many citizens of Madoc whose lives he touched in the course of his life-long career as English teacher, trip leader for student cycling tours in Europe, and dedicated member of the Madoc town council. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 31 at the McConnell Funeral Home, Madoc. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Ontario division.

HARRIS, Frederick Clement

Peacefully, with his loving family by his side, at The Four Seasons Lodge, Deep River on Thursday, December 23, 2004. Fred Harris age 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Frances (Veronica) St. Jean (1990). Loving father of Elizabeth Flaherty of Toronto, Carol Laidlaw (Campbell) and Glenna Ritcey all of Ottawa, and Irene Harris of Paris, France. Predeceased by a son Paul Harris (1970). Cherished grandfather of Reinold Ritcey, Elise Zmuda (Danny) all of Toronto and Corinne Ritcey of Vancouver, and 1 great-grandchild Jacob Zmuda. Dear brother of Gladys Waller and her family (England). Fred's family would like to acknowledge, and give thanks to close friends Vic Thompson and Donna Mead, the caring and compassionate staff of the Four Seasons, Long Term Care Centre and Dr. Elizabeth Noulty. Memorial service was conducted in the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Thursday, December 30 at 1:00 P.M. At Yarmouth, N.S. hospital, on Monday, December 20, age 85 years. Wife of the late Bradford Hatfield. Loving mother of Sheila Drouin of Aylmer, Que. And Gord Hatfield of Deep River.

RENAUD, Allan

Surrounded by his family, on December 21, at the age of 76 in the Deep River Hospital. Predeceased by mother Annie and father Joseph Renaud, sisters Melvina, Mary, Bernice, brother Joseph. Survived by sisters Frances Ball, Deep River, Irene Owens, Simcoe and Joyce, Nova Scotia. No viewing by request. Mass was held on December 28 at Our Lady of Good Counsel at 11:00 o'clock. Allan will be missed by many nieces and nephews. In memoriam donations to the Cancer Society will be appreciated. Spring burial.

Cherished grandfather of Stephanie Lapensee (Mike), Cara Lance (Dave), Erin Lee (Toby), Megan Bischoff (Kristian), Chrystal Bellec (Mike) and Derek Bellec and two great-grandchildren Rachelle and Frederic Lapensee. Loving brother of Robert Hewitt of Sudbury and Graham Hewitt and his wife Mary of North Bay and Margaret Salvadore and her husband John of Oswego, New York. Predeceased by two brothers Bill and Roy Hewitt. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Friday, December 31, 2004 from 10 A.M. until 12 noon. Loving grandfather of Derek, Ryan, Amy, Shyanne, James, Devin, Brandon, Travis and Aaron and great-grandchildren Enan, Colton, Alyssa, Breanna, Melissa and Tory. Caring grandmother of Bonnie (Ozzie) Gadd, Sonya (Mike) Lepinski, Mark Seguin, Jennifer Seguin (Glen), Kelly (Mike) Pelletier, Carrie-Lynn Stewart and Jason Stewart. Caring great grandmother of Ashley, Jessica, Jamie, Kyle, Brayden, Abbie and Lynden. Cherished grandmother of Jody and Cinamin LeClerc, Joel and Ashley Rousselle, Tracy Park and her husband Gary Moorhead, Kasey Park and her husband Cameron Bosley, Amy MacDougall, Kurt, Danny and Holly Stewart, Andrew and Amanda Walker, and 10 great-grandchildren Kyle, Brayden, Abbie, Tristyn, Chassidy, James, Mackenzie, Madison, Matthew and Kyle. Cherished grandfather of David Madore of Deep River. Predeceased by two brothers, William and Alloysious Madore, and four sisters, Arlene Dufoe, Emmeline Boucher, Marietta Dechene and Mildred Madore. BERLIE, Melvin Rudolph - 1918-2005

passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005 at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, at the age of 87. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Mary Jones, in 1994 after 47 years of marriage. He will always be loved and remembered by daughter Janice Berlie Fill, her husband Michael Fill, and his granddaughters Megan, Kirsten and Ashley. He will be missed by his fellow Deep Riverites and well-remembered for his contributions to the Deep River Symphony and Pembroke Band. Following his 30 year career at AECL, he dedicated himself to woodworking, and after Helen's death, he will be remembered for his love of skating, curling, golfing and walking.
A service to remember him and celebrate his life will be held at the Deep River Community Church on Saturday, April 2 followed by a small reception at his home at 1 Faraday Crescent.

MACDONALD, Mary Katherine

At the Montford Hospital, Ottawa on Saturday, February 19, 2005. Mary MacDonald age 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Ronald John MacDonald. Loving mother of Ronald MacDonald Jr. of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Gwynne MacDonald of Edmonton, Alberta and Hugh MacDonald and his wife Cathy of Deep River. Cherished grandmother of Patrick, Michael, Krista, and Lindsay MacDonald and Katie (Mrs. Dave Gunston). Dear sister of Dorothy McPherson of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Also survived by a sister-in-law Elizabeth Chisholm of Nova Scotia. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Friday, February 25 at 11:00 A.M. Was born 26 March 1947 and passed away peacefully at home 14 February 2005, with his wife and canine friend Cleo by his side. Serving in all three elements of the military, Sgt (R) Harris A.A. CD2, gave his country 32 years of service from 1965-1997. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 29 years, most recently Branch # 562 Chalk River, Ontario. Andy will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Louise of 38 plus years. He was the dear son of Ann (Forret), and the late Frank Harris of Hampton, N.B. Loving father of Queenie Bernard, and her husband Michael of Yellowknife, N.W.T. Andrew Harris Jr, and his C/L wife Aimee Snelson of Ottawa, Ontario. Cherished grandfather of Rachael, Matthew and Kathleen Bernard; Dakota, Madison, and Ethan Harris. Dear Brother of Fena Scott and her husband David, of Scotland. He will be sadly missed by canine friend Cleo. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A memorial service will be held in St. Georges Chapel, CFB Petawawa, 25 February 2005 at 1:30 pm. A reception and light lunch will be served at the Petawawa Legion in the Upper Lounge, directly after the ceremony. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #562 Chalk River, Ontario. Arrangements are entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.

NEWCOMBE, Howard Borden

In the Deep River & District Hospital on Monday, February 14, 2005 in his 91st year. Howard Newcombe of Deep River husband of Beryl Honor Newcombe (nee Callaway). Son of the late Edward Borden and Mabel Elsie Newcombe, father of Kenneth Donald Newcombe of Chilliwack, B.C.; Charles Philip Newcombe of Victoria, B.C.; and Richard William Newcombe of Ottawa, Ontario. Also survived by grandchildren, Meghan Elizabeth, Arthur Gareth, Jeremy Kenneth, Christopher Charles, and Sarah Elizabeth. Visitation was held at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church on Wednesday, February 16th. A private family committal service was held in the Deep River cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of your Choice would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke.

Died suddenly in Florida on February 10, 2005. Beloved husband of Jean. Loving father of Jane, Kirsty and Jill, and a devoted grandfather.

Peacefully at North Renfrew Long-Term Care in Deep River on Monday, May 16, 2005, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Reverend Clement Conliffe. Loving mother of David (Muriel) of Hudson, Quebec, Gloria (the late Will) of Barbados, the late Ingrid, Mark (Ena) of Thunder Bay, Mary (Bill) of Camrose, Alberta, the late Jeannette, the late Christopher (Rosie) of Ottawa, Thérèse (Don) of Deep River, Eve of Ottawa, Lucie (Paul) of Salem, New Hampshire and Tim of Deep River. Loving grandmother of 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Pakenham on Friday, May 20, 2005 at 2pm. Interment St. Mark's cemetery. Donations to North Renfrew Long-Term Care, Deep River would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.
