GADD, Muriel Margaret

At Deep River and District Hospital on Friday, May 11, 2007. Muriel Gadd age 73 years. Beloved wife of Oswald Gadd of Chalk River. Loving mother of Ozzie Gadd and his wife Bonnie of Chalk River. Cherished grandmother of Ashley Gadd of Chalk River. Predeceased by four brothers Alex, Lefty, Bernie and Tommy McNeil and three sisters Ethel, Sara and Lucy. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service was conducted in the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Followed by cremation. In memoriam donations to the Deep River and District Hospital (Palliative Care Unit) or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully appreciated.

FYDELL, Harry Robert P.Eng.

Accomplished Snow Skier, Whitewater Kayaker, Surfer and Water Skier
At Deep River on Thursday, May 3, 2007. Robert Fydell age 51 years. Beloved son of John and Joan Fydell of Toronto. Dear brother of Kenneth Fydell (Jennifer Begley) of Mississauga, Margaret Fydell and her husband Dr. Steven Robbins of Montreal and Barbara Fydell of Toronto. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. An Interment Service will be conducted at a later date. In memoriam donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated. JACKSON, Bertha (nee Morris)

It is with deep sadness that her family announces the death of Bertha who died peacefully in her 94th year at Deep River Hospital on August 2 , 2007. Beloved wife of the late Morris Jackson and devoted mother of David (Susan) of Ancaster and Roy (Susan) of Ottawa and much-loved "Nana" to her grandchildren Scott (Morgan), Tim (Laura), Christopher and James. She was the last survivor of her six brothers and sisters. Bertha was brought up in Lower Island Cove Newfoundland and spent most of her life in Toronto moving to Deep River in her final years where she was among the first residents of the North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre and a member of the Deep River Community Church. She had a great love of life, enjoyed her family and many friends and was a loving and charitable person. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Valley Funeral Home, Deep River. A memorial service will be held in Deep River at a future date to be announced. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha's name may be made to the North Renfrew Long- Term Care Centre.

McDANIEL, Donald Robert

passed away suddenly at home Monday, July 30th, 2007. Beloved husband of Charlotte McDaniel. Dear father of Christopher & Brandon. Dear brother of Jim McDaniel & Judy McDaniel. He is survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews. A Memorial Gathering & Reception was held at the Bowmanville Legion Hall, (Branch #178) 109 King St. E. on Sunday, August 5th, 2007 from 2-4 pm. At Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Thursday, August 2, 2007. Murray Crigger age 73 years. Beloved husband of the late Carman Crigger. Loving father of Robert Crigger of Toronto, Brent Crigger of Nanaimo, B.C., Randy Crigger of Sudbury and Pearson Crigger of Victoria, B.C. Cherished grandfather of Bryce and Cameron Crigger. Dear brother of Evelyn Smith and her husband the late James Smith of Kingston and Shirley Lair and her husband Victor Lair of Walkerton. Also survived by a sister-in-law Dorothy Crigger of Sudbury. Predeceased by two brothers Carson Crigger and his late wife June and Herbert Crigger and a sister Joycelin Francis and her late husband Ernie Francis. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service was conducted in St. Andrews United Church, Chalk River on Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Interment of cremated remains will be in Forest View cemetery , Chalk River. HOWIE, Elaine (nee Smith)

Peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, July 22nd, 2007. Elaine Howie in her 43rd year, was the beloved wife of Ted Howie. Cherished mother of Alexandria and Jonathon. Loving sister of Duncan, Maureen and Warren. Loving daughter of Neil Smith (Nancy) and Sheila Smith. Elaine will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, co-workers and friends. Elaine will be fondly remembered by the golfing community at both Victoria Park Golf Club East, and Guelph Lakes Golf and Country Club. A Memorial Service was held at St. George's Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich St., Guelph, on Friday, July 27, 2007. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Loving daughter of Ronald and the late Doreen McAuley of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Dear sister of Cheryl Raymond (James McDonald) of Waterloo, Annie McAuley (Brian Clemow) of Renfrew, Shawn McAuley (Lauralee Daigle) of R.R. #1 Deep River and Paul McAuley and his wife Lisa of Sudbury. A memorial mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Monday, July 30 at 11:00am. Dear mother and brother of Joshua Cox and his wife Chelsea of Deep River, Benjamin Cox of Hamilton, Amanda Cox of Waterloo, Elise, Melissa, Jessica and Aylanna Cox all at home. Loving grandmother and uncle of Jordan Cox . Loving sister and nephew of Bill Geck, Suzanne Pilon, Ernest Geck Jr. (Cheryl Young) all of North Bay, Kathryn Geck-Hunter of Arizona, Deborah Newton (Mark) of Barrie, Melinda Cunningham (Darryle Copeland) of Trenton and Christian Oickle (David) of Pembroke. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. By request there will be no visitation. Cremation. A Memorial Service was conducted in the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Deep River on Saturday at 2 P.M. Cherished grandmother of Corry Labine, Roxanne Kasaboski, Randy, Ricky, Robbie, Sherri, Shawn and James King, and 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Dear sister of Eldon Gust and his wife Vera of Petawawa. Also survived by a son-in-law Murray King of Cambridge. Predeceased by a daughter Judy King and a son Milton Neumann. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Saturday, July 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service was conducted in the Chapel on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery , Chalk River. In memoriam donation to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be gratefully appreciated.

SALKELD, Dora

Dora Salkeld passed away peacefully at her residence in Vernon, BC with her loving family at her side on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Interment will be held Friday, July 27 at 2 pm at the Deep River cemetery. Friends are welcome for light refreshment at Rev. Ruth Syme's home, 103 Frontenac Street, following the burial service.

BROWN, ROBERT (BOB)
September 14, 1924 - July 9, 2007

With sadness we announce the death of our father, Robert (Bob) Melbourne Brown. Bob was born in Richmond, Quebec. He was the younger son of the late Florence Brown (nee McKee) and the middle son of the late Edward Brown. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane (nee Leach) and recent partner Lois Ingimundson. He was also predeceased by his older brother Alan and sister-in-law Doris and his sister-in-law Janet. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters Anne, Margaret and husband Paul and Cathy and husband Terry. He was the proud grandfather of Lia (predeceased), Dane, Zachary, Lucas and Liam. He is also survived by his younger brother Norman (Rolande), sisters-in-law Jeanne (Jerry) and Frances (Kenny), brothers-in-law Tommy and Paddy and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Cremation took place July 16. A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church Saturday, July 28 at 11 am. A reception will follow at Bob's house, 38 Laurier Ave. All are welcome. For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to either the Deep River Community Foundation, The Deep River X-Country Ski Club or the Deep River Curling Club.

Suddenly in Renfrew on Thursday, July 12, 2007, Mary Evelyne Tait, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Bill Reinwald of Renfrew. Dear mother of Jedy Patterson (Ron) of Smiths Falls, Wayne of Southampton, John (Laura-Lee) of Deep River, David (Sherry) of Renfrew, Nancy Neville (Paul) of Russell, Cheryl Emon (Kevin) of Port Elgin and Kim Keuhl (Derrick) of Renfrew. Predeceased by brothers Henry, Ralph and Thomas Tait and sister Margaret Cochrane. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren. Rested at the McPhail & Perkins Funeral Home, 85 Munro Ave. at Lorne, Renfrew, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where the funeral was conducted in the chapel Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. James Payton presiding. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association and/or Victoria Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

DURHAM, Dr. Raymond Wilson

passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2007. Beloved husband of Jean for 59 years. Dearly loved father of Martyn (Nadine), Mark (Margaret), Adam, Greg (Sandy), and Lee. Fondly remembered by Debbie. Grandpa will be sadly missed by Jason (Monica), James, Steven, Jessica, Robin, Nicole, Kyle, and by his great grandchildren David, Nicholas, Christopher, and Justin. Ray was a Nuclear Chemist at CRNL. He was instrumental in inventing the glass block process for storing nuclear waste. He retired from CCIW where he established and ran the Radiochemistry Dept. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Ragonetti at Billings Court Manor for their care and compassion. A Memorial Service honouring Ray will be held at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, 2241 New Street (at Drury Lane), Burlington, (905-637-5233) on Saturday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m., followed by Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens. In memory of Ray, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Burlington Humane Society.

Loving mother of Brian McAuley and his wife Paula of Izmir, Turkey, Stephen (Steve) McAuley and his wife Myrna of Deep River and Gerard (Gerry) McAuley (Geri Pretty) of Canmore, Alberta. Cherished grandmother of Keiran, Carrie-Lynn (Dan Gallaugher), Alanna (Rob Gagnon), Sonja (Warner Montiero), David and Ryan, and four great-grandchildren Brendan, Henry, Nathan and Cristiano. Dear sister of Vaughnie Pinck (the late Tom Pinck) of Deep River. Predeceased by three brothers Edgar, Stephen and Peter Shannon and a sister Jeanine Moore. Friends called at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment was in Le Repos Saint Francois d'Assise (Le Cemeterie Le Lést de Montreal) on Monday at 2:00 p.m. In memoriam donations to the North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre, Deep River would be gratefully appreciated.
