The battle was fought with all the bravery, determination and stubbornness people who knew her would expect from her and was not lost by her but finished on her own terms, disconnected from any artificial life support. She was comforted by the love of her family at her bedside, husband Alan and children Heather and Andrew. A very special lady, who would light up any room she entered, she will be remembered for the sparkling spirit and contagious laughter she brought to almost every occasion. Captain, Firefighter, Ottawa Professional Firefighters Association (Retired) Station 53 (former Cumberland Station 1) Loving husband, father, brother and good friend, Ken died peacefully May 3, 2007, after learning his Firefighter Brothers and Sisters would no longer have to battle for recognition of cancer-related illness developed from their job. Ken was the son of Raymond and Violet Charlebois (Cameron). Ken remains with his loving family and all his dear ones in spirit. His wife Ingrid Koenig and her family, his children Jamie (Julie), Joelle Baldry (Derrick), and Alain. Proud Grandfather of Jesse, Joshua, Jake, Jenna, Tylor, Amanda, Alex. Ken's brothers and sisters Gerald (Marie), Doreen Carrol-MacKinnon, Marleen Parman (Patrick), Dalton, Linda Leblanc (Jean-Pierre), Larry (Denise), Brian (Heather). Mother of Ken's children, Jeannette Roy, brother-in-law Marcel Farley, sister-in-law Gloria Kuffner, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ken is predeceased by his sisters Ina Cyr, Joan Farley, and his brothers Raymond, Edward and Carl. Ken was devoted to his family and cherished them all. He was proud to serve the community, particularly as a Firefighter for 27 years, Policeman for seven years, and the Canadian Navy for three years.
