MacDONALD - The death occurred at the Kings County Memonal Hospital of Willard Sinclair MacDonald, Upper Montague on August 20, 1997 in his 64th year Willard was the son of Don and Minnie MacDonald He is survived by two daughters, Isobel (Billy) Woodgate, Jessie (Billy) Ross and four grandchildren, Kerry and Robert Woodgate and Joey and Courtenay Ross; Brother Glen, Sisters June, Jeanette and Alena.
Willard spent his life on his farm caring for his animals. His home was always open to friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of the Iona A.A. Group where he received strength and fellowship.
Due to ill health he had to leave his farm and was cared for by a caregiver, Ada Shaw, Eldon. His family are deeply indebted to Ada for her care and loving concern.
His largely attended funeral was held from Hillcrest United Church. Service was conducted by Rev. Melanie Matheson. He was laid to rest in Valleyfleld Cemetery beside his brother John.

SONIER - The death occured at the Wedgewood Manor on Thursday, October 30, 1997 of Oliver Sonier, of Summerside aged 90 years.
Born in Mont Carmel, he was the son of the late Frank and Helene (Gallant) Sonier.
Survived by nine children, Helen Guy, Halifax; Dolly Puddifant, Dartmouth, N.S.; Joe (Yvonne) Toronto; Dorothy (Jim) Hancock, Wolfville, N.S.; Elizabeth (Kookie) Jones, Westville N.S.; Ralph (Norma), West Cove Head; Barbara (Earl) McConkey, London Ont.; Michael (Velda), Crapaud; Jules Westville, N.S.
As well as 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife Catherine (nee DesRoches) daughter Marjorie and son Bray.
As well as brothers Fred, Arthur, Patrick and Peter and sisters Julia, Tilly, Stella and Dina.
Resting at the Moases Funeral home until Saturday then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 2pm.
Intement in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
MACKINNON - The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, August 16, 2001 of Mrs. Elizabeth Mae MacKinnon (nee Gautier) of Hunt Court and formerly of Alley St., Charlottetown, in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of the late Ivan Lafferty and the late Watson MacKinnon.
Dear mother to Leonard (Leona) Lafferty and Kimball (Brenda) Lafferty.
Liz will also be fondly remembered but sadly missed by her grandchildren Ruthann(Gary) Esligar, Susan (Allan) Curley, Tracy Lafferty, Karen Lafferty, Valerie (Maurice) Comeau; her great-grandchildren Joshua and Nathan Curley, Jessica and Jacob Comeau.
She was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Verna and Valore (Marty) Martell.
MARJORIE JENKINS - In the early morning hours of April 23, 1982, the death of Marjorie Jenkins occurred at her home in Hazelbrook, PEI.
Born in North Carleton in May 1916, she was the youngest child of Percy and Ethel (Waugh) Lowther.
At an early age she moved with her family to Cornwall where she resided until her marriage to C. Reginald Jenkins in Jun 1942.
Following her school days in Cornwall she attended Prince of Wales College after which she taught school in several districts about the Island.
As well as being a diligent and devoted wife and mother, she was always willing to give of her time and talents to the many and varied projects of the community and church.
She was a leader of the Hazelbrook 4-H Sewing Club for several years.
She was a valued member of the United Church Women and the Hazelbrook Women's Institute where her presence will be greatly missed.
Throughout a prolonged illness Marjorie faced the future with quiet courage and Christian fortitude, maintaining a cheerful attitude and spending many pleasant hours with family and friends.
Mourning her loss, but remembering her with love and affection are her husband and sons, Leigh and Douglas in Hazelbrook and David in Fredericton, New Brunswick, her daughters-in-law, Gail, Robin and Betty, her six grandchildren and brothers Waldron and Earl Lowther, Cornwall.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Marjorie Anne in early childhood and her sister Doris, Mrs Bruce MacKinley, North River.
Attesting to the esteem in which she was held, many people attended her funeral in St. Andrew's United Church, Vernon.
CLOW - The death occured at the Prince County Hospital on Thursday, August 18, 1994, of BLANCHE CLOW of 122 Harvard Street Summerside, aged 71 years, beloved wife of Austin.
Born in Summerside she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Julia (Fanion) Sonier.
Besides her husband Austin she leaves to mourn the following children: Anne and Julian Croken of St. Eleanors; Tom and his wife Armeda of Angus, Ont.; John and his wife Cathy of Summerside; Paul and his wife Donna of Charlottetown; Judy LaMarsh of Summerside; Barb, Summerside; Phyllis and her husband Roger Arsenault of Calgary, Alta.; Margo and her Husband Wayne Beaton of Bedeque; Steven and his wife Wendy of Toronto, Ont.; and Jamie of Summerside; as well as 29 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Also survived by brothers and sisters: Benjamin Sonier and his wife Anne of Summerside; Theresa Hill of Summerside; Julie Gagnon of Montreal, Que. and David and his wife Sally Sonier of St. Eleanors.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister Madeline and one brother Robert.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home Summerside until Monday, then to St. Paul's Church for funeral mass at 10am.
Interment in church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
BERNARD, Frederic - Entered into rest at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, December 20, 2001, Fred Bernard, of Caledonia, in his 75th year.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret O'Gorman.
Dear father of Marilyn Hayward and her husband Ron, Tom and his wife Sandra, and James and his wife Lisa.
Dear "Poppa" to Caitlin, Kelly, Gregory, Nicole, Jeremy and Elizabeth.
Also survived by his sisters Winnie and Katherine, and brothers Wilfred and Austin.
Predeceased by his sisters Mary, Gertie, Emma and Leona, and brothers Art, Edmond and Henry.
Fred was a 35 year employee of the TTC.
Visitation will be held at the Miller Funeral Chapel, Caledonia, Sunday, December 23, 2 - 5 p.m. only.
Prayers at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday, December 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Caledonia.
Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Blanchard - Former Member of Legislature Passes Away
DUVAR, P.E.I., March 17, 1939 - Hon. Jeremiah Blanchard, a well-known and highly respected citizen of this Prince County village who was a former member of the Legislature, died at his home here today, aged 79, following a lengthy illness. He was confined to his bed for four years.
Born in Rustico, P.E.I, , in 1860, Hon. Mr. Blanchard was the son of Sylvestre Blanchard and Virginie Doucet. After passing through the public schools he learned the carpenter trade with his father and moved in 1882 to Duvar where he lived until his death.
He had been interested in politics since his youth and in 1890 he unsuccessfully contested two elections in the interest of the Conservative Party; the first in January for the Legislative Assembly as a candidate for the first district of Prince and the second in August for the Legislative Council.
He was elected as a Conservative candidate for the first district of Prince in 1894 and sat in the Legislature till 1897.
After an absence from the political scene of some 20 years he returned to the hustings in 1919 and was an unsuccessful Liberal candidate in the third Prince where he opposed the then Premier, Hon.A.E. Arsenault, now Mr. Justice Arsenault.
He was elected by a large majority for the first district of Prince in a bye-election necessitated by the death of Hon. Benjamin Gallant in the same year and was re-elected in 1923 and 1927. He sat in the Legislature until 1931, a member of the Bell, Saunders, and Lea Governments.
Married twice, his first wife Domitilde Gallant was mother of nine children. She died in 1918. His second wife, Mrs. Gomaux of Miscouche, P.E.I. bore him five children.
JOHN AXWORTHY - On the evening of Saturday, March 5th 1921, Mr. John Axworthy, a highly esteemed citizen of Wheatly River, son of the late Wm. Axworthy passed peacefully away at the age of 36 years.
The deceased had not been in very good health for several years but his friends and loved ones were not aware that the end was so near. On the eve of the above mentioned date he was sitting talking when all at once, his brother and mother noticed that there was something seriously wrong. They thought that he had fallen asleep and tried to wake him. It was all in vain, the heart had ceased to beat, death had come and his spirit had taken flight.
Besides a sorrowing step-mother Mr. Axworthy leaves to mourn the loss of a loving brother, three brothers and five sisters.
The brothers are: Herbert and William in the Canadian West and George at home; and the sisters are: Mrs. Alvin Carr, Somerville, Mass, Mrs. Frank Quinn, Charlottetown, Mrs. Wm. Hicken, Fredericton, and Misses Bertha and Sophia of Charlottetown.
Mr. Axworthy was a young man of strong and manly character and will be much missed among his many friends. He was a general favorite wherever known and his place will be hard to fill.
The funeral, which was quite a large one was held at his old home in Wheatly River on Tuesday, March 8th. The service was conducted by Rev. R.H. Stavert.
The pallbearers were: Geo. Axworthy, Howard MacKay, Howard Waye, John Pidgeon, Nelson Moore and Henry Ross.
Interment was in the Methodist Cemtery at Wheatly River.
