James J. Petkus
James J. Petkus, 51, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Beloved and dedicated husband of Jessie (nee Gibbs). He was a devoted and loving family of Jessica and Justin Petkus of Quincy. Cherished son to Justina and the late John A. Petkus. Dear brother to John, Joan, and Jean. Also loved by nieces, Kristen and Erin, and nephew, Tim.
Due to personal request of the family there will be no visitation. Service to be held at Old South Union Church, Columbian Square, South Weymouth by Reverend Terry Martinson on Monday, December 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Memorial donations may be made in James’ name to the charity of your choice.
Born and raised in Boston, Mass., James was an avid supporter of his family and friends. His love of sports, reading, nature, traveling, history, and watching Jeopardy were all part of his charm. He was a dedicated Senior Service Technician at Keyspan for 33 years. A number one husband and father, James will be sadly missed by all those who love him.
Souad “Sue” Mary Haddad
The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 of Mrs. Souad “Sue” Mary Haddad (nee Tweel), of Charlottetown age 74 years.
Beloved wife of Said Haddad
Dear mother of Chooa (Sameah) Abou-Rashed, George Haddad, Essam Haddad, and Fouad (Insaf) Haddad.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Fadi, Deanna, Raymond, Daniel, Danny, Andrer, Johnny, Nadine, Nicole, Natalie and Nadia; sister, Odette Tweel ; sister-in-laws, Lorna Tweel and Souheila Tweel.
She was predeceased by brothers, Sam and Said Tweel.
Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home until 9:45 Saturday morning, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m.
Interment to follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Charlottetown.
If so desired, memorials in Mrs. Haddad’s memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Equipment Fund.

Elizabeth “Beth” Carleton
It is with great sadness the family announce the home going of Elizabeth 'Beth' (Gladstone Wood) Carleton on Wednesday, December 17th., 2003 in her 84 th. year.
Beth was the loving wife of Ken Carleton of Covehead and the adored mother of Elizabeth and her husband Brian Fast. She was “Nana” to Sarah, Leah, Luke, Rachel, Ethan and Thomas all of Glencoe, Ontario. Beth was the big sister to George (Marguerite) Wood of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jean Nicholson of Burlington, Ontario. As well Beth was “Auntie Tib” to numerous nieces and nephews spread across Canada.
Friends will be received at The Cutcliffe Funeral Home, 33 Longworth Avenue on Thursday December 18th. from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday December 19th. 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in The Cutcliffe Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Interment to be announced later.
If so desired memorials in her memory may be made to “The Beth Carleton Memorial Fund”.
John Donald Chowen
The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday December 18, 2003 of Mr. John D. Chowen of Mariner Dr. Charlottetown in his 69th year.
Dear husband of Rose [nee Bernard] Chowen.
Dear father of Cathy Chowen. Mr. Chowen is also fondly remembered by his brothers Art [Barb], Bill [Diane], Fred, Vern [Emily] and Jim [Linda].
He was predeceased by his brother Joe and sister Ann Chowen.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 2:15 on Saturday afternoon then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m.
Interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
If so desired memorials in Mr. Chowen’s memory may be made to the Oncology Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Georgie Louisa Dillon
The death occurred at Beach Grove Home on Thursday, December 18, 2003 of Mrs. Georgie Louisa Dillon [nee Carr] of Charlottetown in her 93rd. year.
Dear wife of the late John “Jack” Dillon. Dear mother of Earl [Shirley], Shirley Dillon, Bob [Cathy], George [Leah], Peggy MacKinnon of Sarnia, Ont.; Joan [Brian] Kelly, and Patsy Dillon. Mrs. Dillon is fondly remembered by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Jack MacKinnon.
Resting at the Charlottetown Funeral Home, 33-35 Longworth Avenue from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 10 a.m.
Interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown

Anna Marie McGonnell
The death occurred at Beach Grove Home on Saturday, December 20th., 2003 of Mrs. Ann Mc Gonnell formerly of Emyvale Bayfield Street, Charlottetown in her 93rd. year. Beloved wife of The Late Peter Mc Gonnell Sr. and dear mother to Peter (Nandi), Roy (Mernie) and Mary Mc Gonnell.
She will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and sister-in-laws Faustina Curley of Charlottetown, Margaret Dillon of St. John, N.B.
Resting at The Charlottetown Funeral Home 33-35 Longworth Avenue, Charlottetown until 9:45 Tuesday Morning then transferred to The Church of The Most Holy redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. with interment to follow in the family plot at The Roman Catholic Cemetery. If so desired memorials in Mrs. McGonnell’s memory may be made the Beach Grove Home Meadow Courtyard Project Members of Holy Redeemer C.W.L. will gather at the funeral home for a prayer service Monday evening at 5:30 p.m.
