William "Bill" Munn - On September 18, 1997 the death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of William "Bill" Munn after a battle with cancer for over a year.
Bill was born at Murray River, P.E.l., the son of the late Earl and Christina Munn, and married to L. Anne Praught.
In his home he was a loving husband and a gracious host - and at his occupation at Holland College for over twenty years, a skillful and trustworthy carpenter.
During his illness he was tenderly cared for by his wife Anne, and members of his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Anne, stepchildren: Carrie Steve and Gordie; and brothers, Melvin, Russell and Curtis; and sister Peggy; and uncle Russell Bowles; and nephews and nieces.
Predeceased by parents and one brother Robert.
Bill’s funeral was largely attended at the chapel of Ferguson’s Funeral Home, Montague.
The service was conducted by Dr. Richard Coffin, assisted by Rev. Jerry Cole.
Hymns sung were "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "How Great Thou Art" with a special selection by Cindy Bell.
The organist was Jean Fraser.
Flower bearers were nieces: Peggy Munn, Christina Munn, Glenna Munn, Susan Green and a close friend Avard Ferguson.
Pallbearers were nephews: Brian Munn, Robert Munn, Barry Green, cousin: Boyd Munn and close friends Paul Szezygiel and Jackie Matheson.
Interment took place in the Murray River Cemetery.
LINKLETTER - On Friday, November 6, 1998 the death occurred peacefully at his home in Central Bedeque of Albert Nelson Linkletter aged 91 years.
He was the son of the late Hooper Linkletter and Rosa Pickering Linkletter.
In 1935 he married Hester Inman and together they enjoyed over 63 years of caring and sharing.
They had three sons, Robert (married to Joan Affleck), Graeme (married to Kathleen Ellis), Donald (married to Roxy Stevens, ) eight grandchildren, Wayne, Joanne, Barry, Brian, Lori, Kristen, Bethany and Martha and three great grandchildren Joshua, Lucas and Nicholas Currie.
He was predeceased by his only sister Mabel in 1991.
He was an Elder of Trinity United Church in Summerside from 1943 to 1993 when he was made an Honorary Elder of the congregation.
He was a Director of the PEI Mutual Fire Insurance Company for thirty years and was a Charter Member of the Summerside Co-Op Store.
He was also a valued member of the Young At Heart Seniors Group and the Jolly Circle Seniors Group of Bedeque and Freetown.
In 1974 he retired from farming in Linkletter Road and with his wife Hester, moved to Central Bedeque.
Albert was a very kind and generous gentleman.
He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

MACLEOD - At the Prince Edward Island Hosptial August 14, 1966 Borden MacLeod of Brookfield in his 61st year.
Resting at the Cutcliff Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held Tuesday service commencing at 1:30pm.
Interment Brookfield cemetery.

J. Cody Banks - Family and friends of Cody Banks were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the tragic industrial accident at Pooles Corner on September 30, which claimed his life on October 1, 1997 at the Queen Elizabeth II in Halifax.
Born in 1933, he was the son of the late Ira and Alice (Henderson) Banks of Poplar Grove. He attended Poplar Grove School, Prince Wales College and later learned the Bricklaying trade at which he spent the past forty-five years. He worked in Toronto for a time and the moved back to the Island and taught bricklaying at the Provincial Vocational Institute in Charlottetown for seventeen years. Upon leaving P.E.I he formed his own cornpany, J.C. Banks Masonry, which along with his son Sterling and son-in-law Dale operated up until the time of his death.
Cody’s great love was his family and especially his sixteen grandchildren whom he loved to visit and play games. He is survived by his wife Freda (Williams) and seven children. Derwin (Bernadine), Sterling (Geraldine), Kathy (Barclay) Rand, Steven (Sharon), Jimmy (Michelle), Carolyn (Dale) Watts, Karen (Austin Jr) McQuaid. Also 16 grandchildren, Ira, Jillian, Jeremy, Brittany, Brandon, Janelle, Richard and Trevor Bank Meghan and Cody Rand; Bethany, Gregory, and Kellie McQuaid; and Morgan, Devin and Darcy Watts. Brother of Ruby Smith (Irving), Kennel (Verna), Earle (Marilyn), Brother-in-law of Anna Banks and Betty Maloey (Jim). As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Bob, Sterling, Stewart and Bryon.
Cody was involved for a time with various sports associations including Island Gymnastics Club and Track and Field. His greatest sports love was hockey and for many years he was involved in the Sherwood-Parkdale Minor Hockey system and served in many areas of this association and in later years served as timekeeper for the Parkdale Pharmacy Kings Junior B team. Cody loved to play cards and Friday nights were a ways set aside to play 45's with his wife and very good friends. Cody was looking forward to his retirement in June of 98.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, caring and sharing. As was Cody’s wish, other lives have been enriched through the organ donation program.

Mr. John Hayden - Cherry Valley District lost an aged and highly esteemed citizen by the passing away on Dec. 21st, [1942] of Mr. John Hayden in his ninety third year.
Although of such an advance age, he was able to be about the house except for his last two or three days, and until less than a year ago, took an interest in what was going on about the place and went for walks about the farm.
His hearing and eyesight were both good and he was always interested in the news of the day.
Throughout his life he resided on the property where he had been born, though a new house was erected on the homestead a few years ago.
He was always a most industrious and successful farmer and appreciated greatly the advantages of the modern machinery and electrical appliances in use on the farm now as compared with what was available in his early days.
His wife predeceased him in May 1939.
They were fine types of Christian people and esteemed members of the United Church.
Mr. Hayden had the comfort of living to the last in his family circle where he was given the deepest of respect, care and affection.
The household consisted latterly of his son Lewis, and Mrs. Hayden and two grandsons, George and William Hayden. The first mentioned grandson is at present stationed with the R.C.A.F. at Patricia Bay, B.C.
The funeral service took place at the home on Dec. 23, and was very largely attended.
It was conducted by Rev. A.S. Weir, who paid tribute to the good life and character of Mr. Hayden, and centered his remarks on the text from the 91st Psalm, "With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation." Mr. Hayden will long be remembered by the community where he spent his long, useful and neighbourly life.
SONIER - The death occured at his late residence on Saturday, July 25, 1987 of ROBERT WALTER SONIER of 330 Water St.Summerside, aged 65 years.
Born in Summerside he was the son of the late Ben and Julia (Fanion) Sonier.
He was a veteran of the Second World War and was a member of St. Paul's Parish Summerside.
He is survived by four sisters, Madeline, his twin, whom he resided, Blanche, Mrs. Austin Clow, Theresa, Mrs. George Hill, all of Summerside, Julia, Mrs. Pat Marchard of St. Bruno, Quebec and by three brothers, Ben, Wilmont, David, St. Eleanors, and Victor, Worcester, Mass.
Resting at Moase Funeral Home until Tuesday at 11:30am. then to St. Paul's Church Summerside, for funeral mass at 11:30 am.
Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Members of the Summerside Royal Canadian Legion will hold a legion service at the funeral home, Monday at 6: 45pm.
GALLANT - The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday, March 15, 1997, of Mrs. Mary Ann Gallant of 446 Notre Dame St., Summerside, aged 68 years.
She is suvived by her husband Cletus, daughters Linda (Pat) Pickett of Summerside and Marlene (Philip) Doucette of Travellers Rest; grandchildren Andrea, Stephanie and Jessica Pickett, and Jennifer and Nicholas Doucette.
Also survived by mother Stella Arsenault, as well as by sisters Anna (Don) Doucette, Anita Arsenault and sister-in-law Shirley Arsenault.
Pre-deceased by her first husband Fred Arsenault, father Edward Arsenault and brothers Ernest and Clarence Arsenault.
Resting at Moases Funeral Home until Tuesday at 9:30 am., then to St. Paul's Church Summerside, for funeral mass at 10am.
Interment later in St. Paul's Cemetery.
OLIVE MURIEL (RODD) JONES - Family and friends of Olive Jones were saddened by her death at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on August 29, 1998.
She was born in Winsloe, P.E.I. on March 10, 1919, the daughter of the late Myrtle (Newson) and Hammond Rodd.
In 1938, she married G. Henry Jones of Hazelbrook, P.E.I., where together they operated a small farm and general store. Following his death in 1974, she moved to Charlottetown, P.E .I.
Olive was a faithful member of Hazelbrook United Baptist Churd where she regularly attended as long as her health permitted. She was a member of Hazelbrook Women's Institute and always a willing community worker.
Many years of numerous health problems and being hearing impaired did not affect her pleasant, jolly personality, as she usually had smile and a joke for everyone. Her talent of composing poetry and and addresses was enjoyed on several occasions.
She is survived by her brother, Earl, and sisters Alice Ings, Reta MacDonald, Verna Stone, Myra Scott and Roma Ewles. Also, sisters-in law Helen Rodd, Anna Rodd, Vera Rodd MacKenzie, Susan Andrews and Velma Jones, brothers-in-law Norris Scott and Robert Jones. She is predeceased by sister, Nellie Willis, and brothers Wendell, Stirling and Glydon (in infancy) .
Her funeral was held from Hazelbrook United Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. David Seeley. Velma Brehaut was organist, and Phyllis Lowther sang "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow". The pallbearers were Barry Ings, Gerald Robinson, Tom MacPhee, Orville Willis, Marver MacDonald and Kirby Jones. The flowerbearers were Alison Rodd, Ja son MacNeill and Lori Anne MacDonald. Interment took place in the church cemetery.
SONIER - The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital on Friday, January 10, 1992 of Peter Sonier, aged 87 years, of 38 St. Lawrence St., Summerside.
Resting at Moase Funeral Home until Monday at 1: 45pm
His remains will then be forwarded to St. Paul's Church for funeral mass at 2pm.
Entombment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery receiving vault.
Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9.
