April 24, 1929 – February 16, 2015. Peacefully at home, surrounded by love and the tender care of his beloved wife and family. Loving husband of Trudy (Gold). Cherished father and father-in-law of Joanie, Jeff and Deva, Tony, Ruthie and Peter (Kahn). Grandfather of Spencer, Jason and Shelby Asch-Jones; Dahlia and Owen Kahn. Loving and devoted Davey to Trudy’s daughters, Marlene Caplan, Debbie Zuckerman (Alan), and Andrea Caplan; and endearing Gramps to Ira Caplan Bickerdike; Leo, Jonah and Eli Zuckerman. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bob and Rosie, Barbara the late Richard Asch, and predeceased by Jean, Henny, and Julia. Brother-in-law of Lois and Stanley Tucker. Dave was a positive, vital and talented man, always on the go and in search of a beautiful scene or subject to capture for his renowned photography portfolio. He was a generous and active community man, a fine skier, sailor, scuba diver, and an avid tennis player. He was quick with a joke, knew how to play fair and work hard. He cherished the company of his family and wide circle of friends and took great pride in his many accomplishments. He was a real traveler who reveled in the world’s beauty, never overlooking the magic in his own backyard. The family thanks especially the remarkable Carole Beluse of Nova for her deep compassion and skillful kindness. Moris (Moishe) Gedalof (Gedajlovic)
GEDALOF (GEDAJLOVIC), Moris (Moishe). It is with deep regret that we announce his passing on Sunday, February 15, at the age of ninety-three. Caring and compassionate husband of the late Dora Guttman. Moishe is survived by his dear children and their spouses Helen and Dr. Vladimir Kurgansky, Anna and Bruce Roberts, Allan and Annie Gedalof. Proud Zaidie of Franklin, and Nelson Gedalof. Husband of Fanny Joseph. He was a man of humour and warmth, the youngest of his brothers and sisters, loved by his nieces and nephews. Moishe met and married Dora in Siberia during WWII; he was happy to come to Canada in 1948 where he reinvented his life and supported his family as a tailor in the Montreal garment industry. He was proud that he could give his children the education and opportunities that neither he nor Dora could have had. The family would like to thank the staff of the Maimonides Geriatric Centre. Very special thanks to his devoted caregivers Nona, and Connie, and the late Arkhady, who extended his life far longer than would otherwise have been possible.
