Peacefully, on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the age of eighty-five. Joseph was born in Poland, and, after surviving the Holocaust, lived in Montreal for sixty years. Husband of the late Rose (Shoshana) Paz. Beloved father and father-in-law of David and Liliane, Marlene and the late Sam Weinstein. Cherished grandfather of Joshua and Kathleen, Jessica, and Jonathan Weinstein; Michael, and Suzanne Weinstein. Proud great-grandfather of Seth and Jacob. Brother-in-law of the late Hania and the late Moishe Goldman, the late Elimelech and the late Tzipora Paz, and the late Baruch Paz. Peacefully, on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Chinook Nursing Home in Calgary, Alberta. Husband of the late Jackie (Sheft) for over sixty years. Dear companion of Freda Plucer. Beloved father of Mark Soroka (Laura), Steve Soroka (Kitty), and the late Susan Lynn Davis. Cherished grandfather of Faith Moore (Rory). Proud great-grandfather of Evelyn Susan and Audrey Mary. Brother and brother-in-law of Abe (Meme) and Liz Soroka. Predeceased by his parents, Masha and Bernard Soroka, and by his siblings, Jack Soroka, Ray Carr and Goldie Pap. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Harry spent the last part of his life in Calgary and, after losing his wife several years ago, met Freda Plucer. Freda and her family made him part of their family, making his final years very warm and happy. It is with infinite sadness that Shawn’s family announces his passing after a brief battle, bravely fought, on Thursday, April 23, 2015, with his devoted and loving wife Kimberley Bonder by his side.
