Edith Doreen (Steele) Stahl
10/07/1926 - 07/06/2014

Born July 10, 1926, in St. John’s, Nfld., Dodi passed away peacefully in her 88th year on June 7th, 2014, at Knowlton House in the Town of Brome Lake, Quebec.

Dodi is survived by her loving husband Nicholas(90) of West Bolton, sons Nicholas M. (53) of Toronto, Richard (50) of Guelph, Ont. and Ken (50) of Orangeville, Ont.

She was predeceased by her daughter Margo (37) of Queensborough, Ont., by her twin sister Sybil MacLean of Thornbury, Ont., and their younger brother Harris of Barrie, Ontario.

In 1971, Nick and Dodi found a farm property set in the hills of West Bolton that reminded him of England.

The family spent weekends and summer holidays there, started growing their own vegetables and even raised some beef cattle for a while.

For their retirement in 1992 he built a cottage overlooking the farm property where they moved and spent their golden years.

Dodi was unfailingly an old - fashioned lady, steeped in the impeccable manners of her upbringing.

She never mixed her own cocktail because that was unladylike. Her high standards were a challenge for all to meet, but especially for herself.

Nevertheless, she never made any compromises as a loving mother to her four children.

It was in this role that she made her greatest gift.

In loving remembrance by her husband and sons.

No public funeral.
