DEVER, Gretchen (Gay) (nee Heidman). Passed away on Friday, November 17, 2000 in the care of the Civic Hospital staff at the age of eighty-nine. Born November 15, 1911 in Ottawa. Graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, she spent a lifetime caring for and about others. She had deep respect for and love of nature and took great satisfaction from a garden full of flowers which it was her pleasure to share. She especially enjoyed music, babies, animals, clouds and trees. Her faith was a constant which sustained her daily throughout her life. Gay is survived by Walter her loving husband of sixty-one years, her sister Isobel Read, sons John, Richard and Dan (Kitty) all of Ottawa-Carleton, her daughter Susan Nakamichi (Masaki). Grandmother to Janet, Matthew, Stephen, Jason, Jennifer, Eric, Elli, Ken and Mari and her great-grandchildren, Ashley and Briana. Predeceased by her brothers Stewart and Carl and her sister Connie Graham. We will miss her, as will her nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Memorial visitation will be held at Pinecrest Cemetery Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) on Tuesday, November 21, 2000 from 1 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 p.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Pinecrest Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers in memoriam donations to Charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
