ABBEY, Stanley. Peacefully, in his eighty-fourth year, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 27, 2013. Beloved husband of Myrna Friedman for fifty-nine years. Loving father and father-in-law of Tracey Abbey Taylor and Allan Greenblatt, Philip Abbey and Tina Landsman, Mitchell Abbey and Nancy Kinch, and Naomi Abbey. Cherished Grandpa of Michael Taylor and Leah State; Seth Abbey and Avigyle Grunbaum, Erica, and Daniel Abbey; Megan, and Jonathan Abbey. Proud great-grandfather of Beatrice Taylor. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Diane Abbey-Livingston and Jack Livingston, the late Sheila and the late Alan Finestone, the late Joan Abbey Pass; and brother-in-law of Lois and George Fine, Merle and Manny Mitchell, the late Jerry Friedman, and the late Mark Friedman. Son of the late Minnie and the late Monroe Abbey; and son-in-law of the late Jean and the late Saul Friedman. POLANSKY, Lea (née Kirschner). Graciously and elegantly surrounded by her loving family, Lea lost her battle to pancreatic and lung cancer on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Most beloved wife of Hyman. Dedicated mother of Cheryl Polansky-Freder, and Eden Polansky-Flomen, and amazing mother-in-law of Jeffrey Freder, and David Flomen. Stellar grandmother of Matthew, Jason, and Daniel Freder; Lola, and Elijah Flomen. Sister-in-law of Sheldon and Sharon Polansky. Daughter of the late Minna Kirschner, and daughter-in-law of Yhetta Polansky. A wonderful aunt, and a dear friend to countless others. For all who knew her, Lea lived her life with a radiant smile, boundless energy, selflessness, and always put her family first. Her love and devotion to her husband and family were second to none. ‘Baba’ will be so very dearly missed by many, but especially by her five grandchildren whom she treasured throughout her life. Lea’s strength and dignity throughout her illness were extraordinary, her courage and bravery will remain as a banner of strength for her family forever. Her fifty-eight year relationship with her husband was a unique bond to be admired by all. Best friend and beloved husband of Judy Malumed for fifty-eight years. Son of the late Jack and the late Sonia Rapoport. Devoted father and father-in-law of Richard and Josi (Bell), Marla and Philip (Goldsmith), Brian and Felicia (Cohen), Mike and Nadia (Marcheterre). Cherished grandfather of Samantha, and Carley Rapoport; Joshua, and Matthew Goldsmith. Brother and brother-in-law of Betty and the late Sol Lubin, Shirley and the late Ralph Rapoport, Merka and Ernest Weiss; and brother-in-law of Albert Malumed and Jacqui Morris, and the late Ronald Malumed. Adored ‘Bubbie Dora’ of Rosie Yesovitch and Sam Stone, Samara Yesovitch and fiancé Karl Leblanc. Dear sister of the late Bronca. Loving aunt of Willy Grzywacz (Cathy) and the late Francine Grzywacz, and Sima Grzywacz. Great-aunt of Kelly and Josh Kahane, and Warren Grzywacz.
