Thompson, Howard

Passed away at the North Country Hospital in Newport on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the age of 70. Loving friend of Sandra Waddington and cherished father of: Daniel (Heather), D.C. (Danielle) and Allen; Dear grandfather of: Adam, Michael, Branden, Eric, Isaiah, Andrew, Connor, Abigail, and Rylan. Howard will also be sadly missed by his brothers: Gordon (Margaret), Bill and Donald; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead 819-876-5213 where friends may visit on Friday, April 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The service will be held in the Bible Baptist Church, 183 Elm St., Derby Line, Vermont on Saturday April 25 at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Richard Daniels officiating, followed by interment in the Griffin Cemetery. As a tribute to his memory, donations made to the North Country Hospital, 189 Prouty Drive, Newport, Vermont 05855 or the Canadian Cancer Society 3330 King St. West, bureau 130, Sherbrooke, QC. J1L 1C9 would be greatly acknowledged by the family.

MacIver Coates, Lillian

Passed away peacefully at the Hôtel-Dieu Hospital in Sherbrooke on March 3, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Merlyn "Bud" Coates of Bury, and loving mother of Stuart and Steven. Much loved sister of Roderick "Bing" MacIver and his wife Wendy. Lillian was predeceased by her sister Mary Jones and brothers Jackie Park and John Hector MacIver. Also left to mourn are her brothers-in-law Glenn Coates and Harris Nugent (Gloria), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 50 Craig St. Cookshire, QC, where visitation will take place on Monday, March 9th, 2015 from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be visitaion on Tuesday, March 10th at the St. Paul's Anglican Church in Bury from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Rev Lynn Dillabough officiating. Burial will take place in the Bury Protestant cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Lillian may be made to the Pet Connection, 1730 Wellington Sud, Sherbrooke, QC J1M 1K9 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 3330, rue King Ouest, bureau 130, Sherbrooke, QC J1L 1C9.

Miles, Ronald L. H.
(1930 - 2015)

Passed away peacefully at the Foyer Richmond, on Monday February 16th 2015, Mr. Ronald Miles in his 85th year. Loving husband of the late Marjorie St. Martin, and dear father of Anne (Wayne Pibus) and Sandra (Paul Fandrich). Dear grandfather of; Heidi (Florian), Heather (Mathieu), Lloyd, Lynda (Karl), Lois (David), Stephen (Jillian) and Sharon (Michael), and great-grandfather of; Jeanne, Jacob, Alyson, Corey, Benjamin, Lorianne, Philip, Samuel, Sierra, Kevin and Kayla. Ronald also leaves to mourn, his sister Allie, sister-in-law Helen Miles along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principale S., where friends may visit on Friday February 20th from 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 10 to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment in the St-John Cemetery, Brome QC, at a later date. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Foyer Richmond for the wonderful care they provided. Donations to the Parkinson's Society of Quebec, 1253, Av. McGill College, Bur, 402, Montreal, QC H3B 2Y5, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

McHarg Hartwell, Constance

Mrs. Connie Hartwell passed away suddenly but peacefully with family by her side, at the Wales Home on February 4, 2015 at the age of 79. Predeceased by her loyal husband Ernest Arlington Hartwell, she will be lovingly remembered by her children Brenda (Léo Beaudoin) and Judy; her grandchildren Nola and Nicola Beaudoin; her sister Sue (Russell Nichols), as well as many dear friends and relatives. Visitation will be held on Monday February 16th from 1 to 2 p.m. at Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College Street, Lennoxville, followed by a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Reception to be held at the North Hatley Legion (95 Jackson Heights). Internment in Reedsville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Wales Home Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Murphy Engelmann, Françoise

(1945-2015) Passed away in Sherbrooke, after a long courageous battle, on January 11, 2015 at the age of 69. Beloved wife of Frank Engelmann and dear daughter of Florence Léveillé Murphy and the late Léo Murphy. Cherished mother of Rick (Hélène). Françoise leaves to mourn her brothers Gilles (Thèrese) and Jacques (Raymonde), her sister Nycole (Jean-Pierre), her brother-in-law Gerhard (Marlies), her godmother Jeanne-D'Arc (Rolland). She also leaves to mourn her many nieces and nephews Pierre-Luc Durand, Fréderic Durand, Patricia Murphy, Linda Murphy, Denis Murphy, Daniel Murphy, Jean-François Murphy, Michelle Murphy, Peter Engelmann and Nicole Engelmann and also many cousins. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at 2:30 pm at the Patrick's Church (20 Gordon St. Sherbrooke). The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service to receive condolences from family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Nöel and the staff at La Maison Aube-Lumière for the care and compassion they provided. Donations to La maison Aube-Lumière (3071, 12e avenue Nord, Sherbrooke, QC. J1H 5H3) would be appreciated by the family.

Leney, Lester

Passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Edith Brunton and cherished father of Charles Andrew (Manon) and the late Peter William.Adoring grandfather of Jade Sarah and Dylan. Dear brother of the late Raymond. Lester will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. There will be visitation in the presence of his ashes at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead 819-876-5213 on Thursday, July 21, 2011 where friends may visit from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011, in St. George Anglican church, Georgeville, QC. at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Keith Dickerson officiating. Interment will take place in McPherson cemetery. As a tribute to his memory, donations made to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Lyonnais, Amey

Passed away at the C.S.S.S. Memphremagog on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Ellen Gibbs. Amey will also be sadly missed by his brother Wilfrid (Beryl) along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. A graveside service will be held in the Crystal Lake Cemetery on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 1:30 p.m.

Manning, Peter
(1937 - 2015)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Manning (age 77). Peter had been managing well with a brain cancer diagnosis since May, 2014, until he passed at his home on January 5th. Peter was born in Montreal on February 25, 1937, and was brought up in Richmond, Quebec, the son of the late Dr. Clinton Edgar Manning and the late Rita Gertrude (née Butler) Manning. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree and Diploma in Education from Bishops University, and received a Masters degree in Education from SUNY Plattsburgh. Peter touched many lives as a teacher and later in his career as a school administrator with the Lakeshore School Board. In his retirement he spent several gratifying years volunteering with the Hospitality Corner in the Montreal General Hospital. A man of many talents, from family man to golfer, wood-worker to house-builder, he will be missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Millie, after 52 years of marriage, his sons Andrew and Tony, his sister Elizabeth, his brother John, his sister-in law Catherine and his nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, as well as the staff at the Maison Herron, for his care during his illness. To celebrate Peter’s life, a visitation with the family is planned on the evening of Thursday, Jan 15th, 7 to 9 pm, at the Rideau Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard des Ormeaux, H9B 2A6. Mosher Galbraith, Irene

Passed away peacefully in Richmond on December 22, 2014 at the age of 95. Loving wife of the late Floyd Burrill and of the late Arthur Galbraith and dear mother of the late Franklin Burrill (Beverley) and the late Beverley Henderson (Eric). Grandmother to Lillian, Wendy, Martin, Lloyd, Richard, Debra and Dean. Missed by her brother Vernon and predeceased by her late siblings Howard, Gay, Orange, Christie, Voilet, Alton, and Vera. Irene is also mourned by her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a long lifetime of friends and loved ones. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principlale S., Richmond, where friends may visit from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday December 28th 2014. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday December 28th at 3 PM, with Rev. Lynn Dillabough officiating. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at CHSLD Wales for their tremendous care and compassion. Mathieu, Charles-Émile

Passed away peacefully in his sleep, Mr. Charles-Émile Mathieu (Charley). Beloved son of the late Charles Mathieu and the late Odina Poulin and loving husband of Rachel Charlebois. Resting at he Cass Funeral Home (50 Craig St. Cookshire), where family and friends may call on Friday December 12th, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, December 13th from 10 to 10:45 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 am in the St-Camille Catholic Church, Cookshire followed by the interment in the St-Camille Cemetery. Mr. Mathieu leaves to mourn his children: Diane (the late Normand Potvin), Gaétan (Renée Drouin), Michel, Richard (Marie-Chantal Rhéaume), Guy (Sylvia Hill), Sylvain (Lucie McCarthy) and Stéphane (Sylvie Archambault); his 14 grandchildrens and his 14 great grandchildrens. He was the brother of the late Jean-Claude Mathieu (Jean Borthwich). He also leaves to mourn his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, the late Jeannine (the late Simon Mathieu), the late Laurent (Marie-Ange Gosselin), Laurette and the late Robert (the late Liliane Després) along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Résidence Camélia, specially to Doreen, for the excellent care and the support that was given to our father during the last moments of his life and to Dr Blais, Dr Payeur and the staff of the CSSS du Haut-St-François. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fondation CSSS-HSF, 120 rue Rousseau, East Angus (QC), J0B 1R0, would be appreciated by the family.

McBean, Albert

Passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday November 16th 2014, following a brief battle with cancer, Albert McBean in his 73rd year. Loving husband of 47 years to Judy Gilchrist, and dear father of Doug (Laurie Ann Martel), Chris (Kelly Coleman) and Vicki (Dan Davidson). Beloved Granpa of Melissa McBean, Gregory and Tyler McBean, and Matthew and Derek Davidson. Dear brother of the late Robert (Mariette), the late Flora, Margaret (George) and Bill (Darlene). Albert also leaves to mourn his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) QC where friends may visit on Friday November 21st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Lennoxville United Church on Saturday November 22nd at 11:00 AM with Rev. Heather Thomson officiating. Interment in Trenholm Cemetery. Please note: the family will be at the Church to receive family and friends 1 hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cookshire-Eaton CLSC, and especially Jacinthe, for the wonderful care they provided.
