THOMPSON - It is with sadness that the family of Thorb Thompson, Katepwa Lake Sask. announce his passing on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the age of 87 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Thorb will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving wife of 60 years, Marg; two daughters: Donna Lee Taylor and her husband Robert; Linda Thompson and her friend Ron; sister Gerry; and many friends and family. Thorb was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Juneau of Montreal. Thorb spent two years overseas, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross at the end of his tour of ops. He enjoyed telling war stories and even chose his licence plate HALLY-F to honor the bomber in which he flew. Thorb was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 57 years. Thorb loved living at the Katepwa where he and Marg enjoyed golfing, curling and playing cards. Thorb will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his youthful enjoyment of life. A graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Dorothea Baber, Box 89, Lebret, Sask. S0G 2Y0 to purchase a bench for the Echo Ridge Golf Course in memory of Thorb.

WELDER - JOE passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Pasqua Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the age of 81 years. Joe was predeceased by his son Don; parents: Nat and Mary; brothers: Jake, Nick, Paul, Bill and Pete; and sister Christina. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Hilda; daughter Bev (Scott) McDonald and daughter Amy; sons: Lyle (Debbie) and sons Shane and Aaron; Brian (Colette) and sons Troy, Trevor and Tyler; Darryl (Erin) and children Brandon and Kennedy; daughter-in-law Diane; Don's children Tammy (Darren) Kelln, Stacey, and Jason; Debbie, the mother of Don's children; great-grandchildren: Reena, Emily and Elizabeth; brothers: Chris and Fred; sisters: Veronica Tripp, Mary Dietz, Katie Gillis and Eva Ceahorianu; brother-in-law Fred (Marjorie) Perry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. AMBROSE - With sadness, the family announces the passing of Mike Ambrose, age 95, on December 14, 2002. Mike was born in Romania and arrived in Canada in 1920 to homestead near Wheatstone, SK. Mike married Christina Daniel and was gifted with one daughter. In 1947, they left their farm near Kayville and moved to Moose Jaw. He was employed by the City of Moose Jaw at Memorial Field, Elgin Park and Rosedale Cemetery for over 25 years. He was an active member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, a passionate gardener, and a generous and loving supporter to his family and friends. Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Christina; his daughter, Phyllis Kube; grandchildren: Judy Radwanski (Marv Lowe), Janice (Dale) Nash, Jan Radwanski (Liz Naylor); great grandsons: Dylan, Benjamin and Jacob; sister Mary Martin; brother Jack; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Maria; brothers, Nicholai, Vasile and John and sister Sophie Silverson. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Wednesday, December 18th, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in Parkview Funeral Chapel, Father Stacey Richter will officiated. Burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. in the Parkview Funeral Chapel. IATRIDI - Sunday, February 16, 2003, Mrs. Stavroula Iatridi, age 95 years, born in 1907 in the Village of Kastri, Kynourias in the Southern Peninsula of Peloponnesse, Greece, late of Regina. Predeceased by her parents Kostantinos and Irini Karapanos; husband Panayiotis Iatridis; four children, two in infancy, George and Areti, and Dina Iatridis and Afrothiti Hasapis; daughter-in-law Maria Iatridis; grandson Ionis Hasapis, Stravroula is survived by three sons, Gus (Afrothiti), George (Helen) and Nick Iatridis; four daughters, Maria (Chris) Dimas, Irene (Jim) Kourlibinis, Vivian (Jim) Lentzos and Kathy (Nick) Fourlas; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Stravroula was a medicine woman, mending broken limps, colds, fevers and abdominal pains using all kinds of herbs and a variety of methods. As well as delivering an astounding number of babies as a mid-wife, her accomplishments and contributions will never be forgotten and forever appreciated. She will be missed dearly and loved by all. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in Saint Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, with Rev. Fr. Spiridon Vandoros officiating. JACKLIN - June Marie, of Regina, passed away on February 15, 2003. She was predeceased by her parents Co and Bea Comartin and grandson Jared. June is lovingly remembered by her husband Donald. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage. They were blessed with three treasured sons: Marshall (Wayne), Craig, and Garth (Sherri). She also had three wonderful grandchildren: Tyler, Jared, and Kristine. June touched many lives, from being a foster parent, leading C.G.I.T. at St. John's United Church, volunteering with numerous organizations, to her passions for bridge, cooking and collecting. She will be missed by all. We can carry a picture in our hearts of her relaxing on the deck in her rocker at Lumsden Beach. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, February 21, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park. LARSON, Barbara Catherine - On Sunday, February 16, 2003 Barbara passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 97 years. She was predeceased by her parents George and Margaret Gardner; her husband Roy in 1955; four sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by two daughters Doreen (Angus) Kennedy of Holdfast, Linda (Richard) Zurowski of Regina; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; a sister Geneva Selinger of Regina; and brother-in-law George Metz of Dilke. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of William Booth Special Care Home, 50 Angus Road.
