CYRIL "CY" JOHN PIUS FINK September 16, 1938 - December 24, 2006 It is with great sadness that Cy's family announces his passing from lung cancer on the morning of Christmas Eve. He was predeceased by his father George; sisters Maybelle and Angela; brother-in-law Joe and father-in-law Art. Cy's memory will be cherished by his partner Sharon; sons David and Derwood (Kim); daughters Sonya, Sandy (Rob) and Tia (Chad); eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Cy will be sadly missed by his mother Eva and mother-in-law Emma; brothers Oliver (Karen), Frank (Syndi), Morris (Betty), Mel (Wendy) and Dicky (Beverley); sisters Olive and Leenie (Lorne); brother-in-law Jay; sister-in-law Gale (Ken); as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In Cy's younger years he enjoyed stock car racing, performing daredevil stunts and working in the auto wrecking business. After retirement, Cy and his brother Oliver spent hours together cruising, fixing vehicles, volunteering at Tia's work, Breast Cancer Action Saskatchewan and visiting the Nelson farm in Wilcox. Cy's fun loving nature and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He loved life and lived it one day at a time. A special thank you to Dr. I. Patel, Dr. Clein, the Palliative Care and Grace Hospice staff for your compassion in caring for Cy. GELMICH - It is with great sorrow that the family of Alvina (nee Kreklewich) announce her passing after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, December 25, 2006 with her daughter Debbie by her side. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Wayne (Doreen), Diana (Mark) Watts, Barry, Brian (Leann), Dale and Debbie; her special companion, Jake Kuntz and his family; grandchildren, Kelsey, Jason, Michael, Melissa, Garrick, Jolene, Jacklyn, Katherine, Dallas and Nikki; great grandchildren, Brady, Brooklyn, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn and Cameron; brothers, Tom (Loretta) and Stanley (Lorraine); her puppies, Tia and Abby and Ali the cat as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and extended family. GIEBEL - Elisabeth (Betty) of Regina, SK passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2006 at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre at the age of 84 years. Betty was predeceased by her parents Gustuf and Phemie Olson; infant brother Adolph and her beloved husband Marvin. Left to cherish her memory is her son Wayne (Pat) and their children Shelley (Clint), son Blake; and Shannon (Trevor), sons Tyler, Connor and Riley; her daughter Gayla (Doug) Anderson and their sons Daren (Leanne), children Cooper and Kaitlyn, Colin (Trista), Mark, Jeff and Sean; her youngest son Arley and his son Chad; brother Gordon (Shirley), Swift Current, SK and her nieces and nephews. Betty worked at Simpsons in Regina for 22 years until she retired in 1981. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and loved spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. Betty was dearly loved by her family. The family thanks the staff at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for their care. At the families' request a private service will be held. CHRISTIE - On Thursday, August 2, 2007, Jean Barclay Christie passed away at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by her parents, William and Jane; step-father, John Scott; two sisters, Betsy Christie and Ruth Shropshire; one brother, John Scott. Jean is survived by two nieces, Maxine Cannon of Moose Jaw, Jane (Ron) Crumley of Regina; sister-in-law Kin Scott of Regina; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Jean was born on February 13, 1915 in Port Arthur, ON. In 1917 her and her family moved to Keystown, SK. She attended school in the area then attended business college in Regina. She started working at Sears in Regina then worked at Revenue Canada until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, was a member of Wascana Country Club and was a fan of the Regina Pats and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Regina Cemetery, Broad Street and 4th Avenue with Rev. S. Alan Schooley officiating. BERTHA HADESBECK February 12, 1919 - July 31, 2007 It is with sadness we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Bertha passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 after enjoying her life for 86 years. Family and friends made up the fabric of Berts life. Her unconditional love and support was extended to her children Marlene Stang (Heard), Yvonne (Arnold) Stang (Heard), Carol (Mel) Deagnon and Joey (Joanne) Hadesbeck; her grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; and sister, Fay. She was predeceased by her husbands, Gus and Ernie; her parents, Mary and Joseph Hungel; sisters, Rose, Helen, Beth and Dorothy. We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Sherbrooke Nursing Home, especially Norm who treated Mom like his own own mom, and to her many best friends Lois, Val, Dorothy, Mae, and Dee Dee.
