WALL, MARGARET -- It is with deepest sadness that the family of ANNIE MARGARET OTTILIA (HANSON) WALL advise that their beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on September 24, 2004 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her parents Helmer and Tillie Hanson (nee Jonsson) husband Gosta E. Wall, siblings Helen Bucher, Gertrude Danielson, Hazel Reese, Melvin Hanson, Mabel Wall, Elsie Howells, Lloyd Hanson and Johnny Hanson. Survived by her children Melanie (George) Duryea, Leila Wall and Myles Wall all of Regina and sister Blanche Howells of Davidson. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Kristin Duryea and Jayson Wall of Regina, Myles-Thomas and Donna-Marie Wall of Hartsdale, New York, her sister in law Dorothy Hanson of Winnipeg, her sister in law Dagne Persson of Joshua Tree, California, her brother in law George Wall of Blue Hill, Maine, numerous dear nieces and nephews, and many other surviving relatives and friends throughout Canada and the United States. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. D.H. Warden for his attentive care and concern. VISITATION for family and friends will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Thursday, September 30 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE will be held at the Regina Funeral Home on Friday, October 1, 2004 2 p.m. with Pastor Darold Sauer officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will follow at a later date at Regina Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2360 - 2nd Avenue, Regina, SK S4R 1A6 or to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306-789-8850). WALL – ALBERT ABRAHAM “AL” On Saturday, October, 2, 2004, Albert Wall, beloved husband and father passed away at 78 years of age. Albert is survived by Gwen (Kaufman) his loving wife and best friend of 46 years; children Vanda Wall of Toronto, ON; Dane Wall of Sunnyvale, CA; Chan (Thanh) Nguyen and grandchildren Jared and Justin of Ottawa, ON, sister Martha Friesen of Saskatoon, extended family Lona “Mom”Appel; Anne “Auntie” Wittal; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Born in Hepburn, SK on September 8, 1926 and raised in Hague, Albert is predeceased by his parents Jacob and Elizabeth (Penner) Wall, brothers Bill, Archie, John, Henry and Irvin, and sisters Mary Friesen and Nora Peters. Albert built a career spanning more than 30 years at IPSCO in Regina. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Regina General Hospital Neurological Unit for the care, kindness and consideration shown to Albert and his family during this difficult time. A MEMORIAL SERVICE in honour of Albert will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road in Regina. Due to construction please use back door of church by parking lot. Flowers gratefully declined. Dorothy Wolk

WOLK, Dorothy – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Dorothy Wolk, October 3, 2004 at the William Booth Special Care Home in Regina. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Mike Wolk and will be forever remembered by her two sons Graham (Judy) Wolk and their children: Tracy, Jennifer, and Michael of Regina, and Dawson (Lynda) Wolk and their children: Dawson of Winnipeg and Cory (Peggy-Sue) of Abbotsford. Seven great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kennedy, Matthew, Tatum, Paige, Emily, and Jessica also survive her. Mom graduated from the University of Alberta with her Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 1941. She worked at nursing assignments across various parts of the western provinces until she met the love of her life, Mike Wolk, and started a family in 1943. In 1954, Mom again returned to nursing full time at St. Anthony’s Hospital in The Pas and then the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre in 1963 until her retirement in 1981. She loved nursing and was devoted to her craft having gained many friends and associates during this time. Mom was devoted to her family and continued to be a source of inspiration to her children and their extended families. She was supportive and active at school graduations, family events, and sporting activities especially when it involved the grandchildren. The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of the William Booth Palliative Care Unit and especially to Dr. S. Leibel who showed great caring and compassion for our mother and the immediate family. Your caring and kindness touched us during this period of grief and sadness. Dr. Cline of the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Captain Barbara Brown of William Booth also assisted our mother during this time. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 or to the William Booth Special Care Home, Grace Hospice Palliative Care Unit, 50 Angus Street, Regina, SK S4R 8P6. FERLAND, Doreen – nee Zlotoff, of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sadly and forever , she will be missed by her family and friends. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Tom and Molly Zlotoff, two brothers-in-law, Metro Saranchuk and Henry Saunderson and a nephew, Kenny Saunderson. Left to cherish in her memory are, her partner Al Zabinsky and his children Tony (Gwen) Zabinsky and their children A.J., Melissa and Zachery of Ft. St. John, BC; Michele (Reggie) Medina and their children Emilia and Olivia and Lisa (Gregg) Schwartz all of Regina, SK. ; all of whom Doreen regarded as her children and grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn, her siblings Lucy Saranchuk of Kamsack, SK; Alex (Polly) Zlotoff of Swan River, MB; Elsie Saunderson of Winnipeg, MB; John (Shirley) of Sherwood Park, AB; nieces and nephews Fran Danielson of Swift Current, SK; Colleen (Allard) Danielson of Kamsack, SK; Jane (Gord) Dalke of Calgary, AB; Deborah Bogdon of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ron (Barb) Zlotoff and Shirley (Harvey) Sedor of Swan River, MB; Wayne and Dennis Saunderson, Cindy (Ray) Salamandyk all of Winnipeg, MB; Cheryl (Ted) Smith of Victoria, BC and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Doreen was born on April 19, 1938 in Whitebeech, SK where she attended public elementary school. After attending high school in Arran, SK, Doreen embarked on a banking career with the T.D. Bank in Winnipeg where she worked for 39 years until her retirement. She developed a passion for golfing, reading, recreational walking and community volunteer work. A special thanks to Dr. John Morris and Dr. Lawrence J. Clein and the staff at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the way they delivered the most compassionate comprehensive home care and hospital care for Doreen . The family is grateful for their kindness during her brief final days. Donations in her memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at 1:00 pm (Manitoba Time) at the Heritage Memorial Gardens (Airport Road E.) in Swan River, MB. INTERMENT will follow at the Benito Cemetery. Cremation services were entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.

Pauline Karst

KARST- Pauline (nee Hilderman) late of Regina, SK passed away on August 3, 2004 at the age of 90 years. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pauline and her husband farmed in the Semans and Quill Lake areas until Ed’s sudden passing in 1965. She came to Regina a few years later, living with her brother, Edward, in various locations and finely residing with Fran Fansher who took a very loving, caring interest in her aunt’s well being. At Pauline’s request the funeral service will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3720 Hill Avenue, Regina SK, on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Quill Lake Cemetery. Throughout her life Pauline was loved and appreciated for her caring and generous nature. She displayed an inner strength to the very end and a devotion to her church. Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Peter; daughters: Dolores (Dennis) Gehl and their children, Brendan (Lorena) and Owen, Shaunna (Trevor) Henderson, Darlene (Lee) Harty and their children, Christopher and Patricia; sons: Richard (Linda) Picot and their son Patrick, Leonard (Andrea) and their children, Jesse and Jennifer, Aaron (Joanne). She is survived by brothers: George (Edith) Zerr and Arthur (Theresa) Zerr; sisters: Theresa (George) Gessey, Anne Nunns and Katherine (Miles) Oshanek. A VISITATION for family and friends will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Thursday, August 5, 2004 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 1701 Cowan Crescent, Regina, on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. INTERMENT will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. MOERIKE – Frances – passed away peacefully with her family by her side, in Regina on August 2, 2004 at the age of 77 years Frances is predeceased by her mother Leoda, her father Dewey, her sister Ethel, a grandson Ivan, a great grandson Kyril, and by her first husband John White. Frances is survived by her loving husband Wayne; daughters: Charlotte (Jim) and their son Jamie (Brenda) with their children Ryan and Brennan, Gloria and her children Natalie and Brent: sons: Dwight (Lois) and their children Diana, Chris, Quinn, Tyson and Lauren, and Duane (Jen) along with their children Alicia and her daughter Mercedes, Derrik, Dylan, David, and Daniel; sisters: Arleene Noga, Maxine Treleaven, and her brother Dewey. She was an excellent homemaker, bringing joy to others with her sewing, quilting, cooking and baking. She also had a great love for music. She lovingly cared for her family and will be sadly missed by both her family and friends. McNALLY – John Michael George passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, August 6, 2004 at the age of 61 years. John was born in Crowborough, Sussex, England on June 11, 1943. He came to Canada as a young boy with his family where they settled in the Debdin, SK area, later the family moved to Regina. John was predeceased by an infant son, John Edward Raymond and his parents; Edward and Lil McNally. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Dena, son Michael, daughter Michelle, sisters Dora (Eugene) Moreside, Rosalie (Ian) Collins, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
