FLAMAN - Karl Anton (Karlie) passed away peacefully Thursday, April 11, 2002 at the age of 74 years.Karl is predeceased by his parents and one sister Mary. He'll be remembered by his partner of forty years, Mary and their children Myles and Glenna, Garry and Sherry, Carol and Shelley; five grandkids: Leui, Hayley, Julie, Jarrod and Landon. Karl will be remembered for his love of raising and training thoroughbred race horses, and getting to the paddock to saddle Glorious Pete and General Prefect. Karl's drive and ambition led him to compete at the small fairs across Saskatchewan and Manitoba. What made the small town fairs attractive to Karl was his love of visiting and getting to know people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Karl was an avid hockey fan, following the Ituna National Leafs and the Senior teams around home. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Child R.C. Church, 2636 -7th Avenue East, Regina, SK on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. John Weckend, officiating. Flowers gratefully declined, however friends so wishing may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3, and would be appreciated by the family. GRAHAM - Marlene of Prince Albert. Passed away suddenly April 11th. Born October 9, 1946. Predeceased by her father Myrrl. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her mother Dorothy; her four children Kim (Kevin) Flynn, Jason (Jeanette) of Regina, Natisha (Stephen) Corfmat, Dylan of Prince Albert. She will be missed by her 7 grandchildren, Sean and Caitlin Flynn; Jordan, Jade and Jessica Graham of Regina; Brittany and Mitchell Corfmat of Prince Albert; her brothers James, Harold (Brenda) and children of Regina; Garry (Debbie) and children of Calgary; Wayne (Joan) and children of Sandy Hook, MB. MILLER, ALBERT J. - Albert Miller, born December 8, 1923, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Pasqua Hospital Care Unit on Saturday, April 13, 2002 following a lengthy illness. Al retired from Gen Star Concrete Company on December 2, 1983. He and Kay bought a cottage on Long Lake where they spent their summers, traveling south to California during the winters. Al was born on a farm west of Gravelbourg. At a young age he came to Moose Jaw and apprenticed for the Mechanic Trade. He later worked for the McCaig Family Trucking Company for 16 years and was transferred to Regina into the concrete division. Predeceased by his parents, Chris and Josephine Miller, his three brothers: Vincent, Edward and Laverne, one sister Mary and grandson, Jason Stuttard. Al is survived by his beloved wife, Kathaleen of 56 years, his daughters: Darlene (Dave) Stuttard of Saskatoon and their two sons: Sheldon (Michelle) and Jordon of B.C., daughter, Sharon (Toby) Davies and their son, Hayden of Toronto; sons: Gary (Anne) Miller and their daughter, Mollo of Toronto, Keith (Helen) and their children: Stefan and Mikaela; Todd (Carla) and their children: Joshaua and Haley. Two brothers: Leo Hartel and Leonard in the U.S.A. as well as several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law: Winnie, Alma and Millie. Following cremation, a celebration to honor Albert's life will be held later in the Spring and will be announced. For those so wishing, donations may be made to the Lung Association, 1231 - 8th St.E., Saskatoon, Sask., S7H 0S5 or to the Pasqua Hospital, Palliative Care Services, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask., S4T 1A5. NAWROCKI - Mrs. Polly Nawrocki, late of Regina and formerly of Yorkton and the Sylvania district of Saskatchewan, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at her home in Regina. She was 91 years of age. Predeceased by her husband John in 1981 and a daughter Della Robertson in 2000, she is survived by her sons Mike (Marion) Nawrocki of Thunder Bay ON, Orest (Lucille) Nawrocki of Regina; one daughter Jean (Sherman) Forsyth of Oliver BC; 12 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren; and one sister Emily Turick of Winnipeg. Prayers will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton. Interment in the city cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Bailey's Funeral Home, Yorkton.

QUESNEL - On Friday, April 12, 2002, Frank Weston Hall Quesnel, late of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and formerly of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at the Lamont Health Care Centre, Lamont, Alberta, after a courageous struggle with cancer. Born September 24, 1917, at Manigotagan, Manitoba, Frank was predeceased by his wife Mary (Betty) Dixon (nee Harrop) Quesnel (1997), parents Alvira (nee Reade) Quesnel (1966) and Oswald Louis Quesnel (1971), his sister Margaret (Peggy) Louise Wylie (1968), brothers William (Bud) Reid Quesnel (1955), John (Jack) Albert Quesnel (1950), and Theodore (Teddie) Dale Quesnel (1967), and his grandson Anthony Michael Frank Quesnel (1988). He will be sadly missed by his two daughters: Margaret (Robin) McDougall of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Janet (Michael Carruthers) of Hills, British Columbia; his three sons: John (June) of Regina, Saskatchewan, Robert (Irene) of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and Timothy (Nicky) of Edmonton, Alberta; his eleven grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Roberta, Gregory, Adam, Meghan, Linda, Peter, Cameron, Benjamin, and Carolynne; his step-granddaughter Jennifer; his sister Alma Corinne Boulette; and numerous nephews and nieces. Frank first worked in a lumber mill and as a logger. During World War II Frank volunteered as a soldier in the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He served in Canada, England, and following D-Day, throughout western Europe for the duration. He met Betty Harrop of the Women's Royal Naval Service, and they married November 10, 1945 in England. After the war they made their first homes in Geraldton, Ontario where Frank was a gold miner. In 1952 he was buried alive underground, suffering massive injuries to his back and jaw. After his recovery he worked in the refinery making gold bricks. In 1956 the family moved to Elliot Lake, Ontario where Frank was a shift foreman at a uranium mine. In 1962, Frank became a maintenance planning supervisor at IMC (International Minerals and Chemical Corporation), Yarbo, Saskatchewan, and the family of five children moved to Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. Frank retired from IMC in 1982. In his leisure time he enjoyed golf, curling, and reading. He had a lifetime membership in the Royal Canadian Legion serving the Esterhazy Branch as treasurer and in numerous colour parties. Frank and Betty loved life and each other. They visited many parts of the continental United States, Bermuda, Bahamas, England and Hawaii. In the joy of many friends, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 10 November 1995 at Esterhazy. After Betty's death, Frank moved to Fort Saskatchewan to live first with his daughter Margaret and then at Dr. Turner Lodge, a couple blocks from Margaret's home. With the need for increased care, Frank moved to the Health Care Centre in nearby Lamont. Frank was a loving husband, generous father, and proud grandfather. Kind and gentle, he had a wonderful sense of humour. Frank will be remembered fondly by the many people touched by his life. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church in Esterhazy with Father Rick Krofchek, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's R.C. Cemetery in Esterhazy. Special thanks to the many caregivers in the nursing homes and hospitals of Esterhazy, Regina, Fort Saskatchewan, and Lamont. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1470 Wascana Street, Regina, S4T 4J5 would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements care of Riverview Funeral Services, Fort Saskatchewan, and Peter Carscadden Funeral Service Ltd., Esterhazy.

He is survived by his loving family; wife, Shirley of 50 years; daughters, Beverley (Craig) Pister of Vancouver, BC and Judy (Jake) Stolar of Melville, SK; grandchildren, Amy, Jaclyn and Erin; brothers, Albert (Rachael), Alex (Elsie) and Laurie (Mryna). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Vic was a C.N.R. Engineer and spent his years working on the railroad in the prairies. He retired to Penticton with wife, Shirley in 1990. Vic enjoyed golf, seniors slow pitch, seniors games races, bridge and was an avid gardener. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at the Penticton United Church Chapel with Reverend Ron Jeffrey officiating.
