JONES - DERYCK G. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. Deryck was predeceased by his parents: Ernie and Rose; and his brother Ken. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Gabrielle; children: Stephen (Michelle), Kim, Kerri and Robert (Sharon); grandchildren: Isaac, Johan, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Emily; and nephews: Robert and Rick of Vancouver. Deryck was born in Regina on May 22, 1925 and attended Kitchener elementary school and Balfour high school. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Manitoba and worked for private architectural firms before spending a major part of his career at the University of Regina Physical Plant. He was a member of the Lions Club and supporter of the Regina Lions Band. He also loved curling, fishing, gardening, and attending the Saskatchewan Roughrider games. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. S. Bester, as well as the doctors, staff and caregivers that provided comfort and support to Deryck and his family. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Joyce Hilton, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Deryck's memory may be made to either the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5, the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in care of the Regina Funeral Home (789-8850).

LEIBEL - On Friday, August 16, 2002, Roy R. passed away at the age of 66 years. Predeceased by his parents, Lydia and George; sisters: Freda, Alva, Mildred and Marion; brothers, Eddie and Victor; son Harvey; and daughter Margo. Roy leaves to mourn his daughter Marlene and her mother June; grandsons Kelly (Rhonda), Chris, Corey; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Leslie. "Dad - grampa, we are really going to miss you." A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Anne Thomas Knudsen officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. PELEPIAN, Mary (Mayme) Agnes,

PELEPIAN - With much sadness her family announces the passing of Mary (Mayme) Agnes Pelepian in the Wynyard Hospital on August 11, 2002. She was well into her 93rd year. Mayme was born January 7, 1909 on the family homestead in the Argyle District north of Elfros. She moved to Wynyard to work while still in her teens. Her life touched many in the community very deeply. She always maintained a positive attitude, and it was this attitude which helped her lead such a long and productive life. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander Pelepian; parents Katherine (Buchanan) and Angus McArthur; sisters Eva (Arni Arneson, George Reynolds), Myrtle (Albert Arneson); brother Neil (Elizabeth Holliday); stepfather Stan Dilts; brother-in-law Mike Pelepian; special aunts Grace, Jenny and Isabella. Left to mourn are daughter Iris (James Ellis); grandchildren Susan (Werner Mack), Jack, and their father John Maluga. Also left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews: Marjorie, Lorna, Linda, Ileane, Rita, Ann, and Wilfred. A private memorial service and interment was held Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Pleasantview Cemetery in Wynyard with Rev. Brenda Curtis officiating.

SADER - Mr. John Sader of Moose Jaw, passed away August 18, 2002 at the age of 87 years. John was born at Cudworth, Sask. on May 6, 1915. He joined the VIII Recce Regt. Dundurn (in 1941) 14th Canadian Hussars and went overseas. John's distinguished service earned him a Commission from the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, England. John was very active in the community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Chairman of the Moose Jaw Separate School Board for six years, and member for 12 years. John was also Vice President of the Canadian Catholic School Trustees Association for two years, President of the Catholic Section of the Sask. School Trustees Association and President of the South Sask. Branch of the SSTA for six years. After the war, he was also active in the Militia in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, and Moose Jaw with the XX Armoured Regt. On November 20, 1994, he was appointed Honorary Lt.Col. of the Sask. Dragoons. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He married Irene Viens September 24, 1936. John is predeceased by his wife, Irene in 1997; an infant son, William Paul; son, Richard; granddaughter, Kimberly; his parents; three sisters and a brother. He is survived by two sons: Robert (Bernadette); John (Brenda); one daughter, Debra and daughter in law Dorothy; grandchildren: Lynn (Jay Abrahamson), Randy, Darrell (Sharla), Bill (Tracey), Rick (Rhonda), Glenn (Jacalyn), Todd (Carmen), Dallas (Melodie), Karrie (Sterling) Snider, Jessica Butler, Dylan Sader; great-grandchildren: Andrea and Tyler Abrahamson, Dean & Nicole Sader, Jillian, Heather, Stacey Sader; Ryan and Sean Sader, Madison, Mason, Makayla Sader; and Brook Sader; special friend Helen Goettler; also a brother, Frank (Mirelda) - Penticton, B.C.; one sister, Terry (Lyle) MacEachern - Langley, B.C.; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT ST. JOSEPH'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1064 THIRD N.W., ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 22, 2002 AT 10:00 AM. Father Gerry Bauche will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. EVENING PRAYER SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT W.J. JONES & SON CHAPEL WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2002 AT 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. SHIELDS - After a valiant struggle with Alzheimer Disease, JOHN HENRY (HARRY) SHIELDS, passed away at Souris Valley Extended Care Centre on August 18, 2002. Harry was born on October 9, 1914, in Fort William, Ontario, the oldest child of Irish immigrants, Albert and Alice Shields. He grew up in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, realizing scholarship grades which led to a life-long passion for reading. However, family circumstances prevented him from pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor. He worked as a farmhand north of McTaggart in the 'dirty thirties' where he met and married his sweetheart Mabel Aconley. Harry and Mabel enjoyed many active years on the Aconley homestead farm until his retirement at age 78. They moved to Yellow Grass and were married 56 years when the death of his beloved wife parted them in 1995. Harry was a "Mr. Fix-it", taking on any challenge. As well as farming, he repaired the rural telephone lines in the McTaggart area for 29 years. Harry was a quiet man, a true gentleman with a unique sense of humour who was loved and respected by all his neighbours. A resident of Souris Valley Extended Care since December, 2001, he will be greatly missed by family, treasured friends and staff on 1B North. A poignant good-bye to Saskatchewan from Kathy Savrtka as Harry was a favourite uncle. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mabel and two sisters Alice Shields and Irene Caron, he is survived by one sister Mary (Phil) McLeod, Thunder Bay, ON, one brother Jimmy (Gwen) Shields, Geraldton, ON, nieces and nephews in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. in the Yellow Grass Cemetery, Yellow Grass, Sask. with Rev. Carolyn McBean officiating. Cremation. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Sask., #301 - 2550 - 12th Ave., Regina, Sask. S4P 3X1. Arrangements are entrusted to the Helmsing Funeral Chapel, Regina. 1-800-900-1161.

BILOKRELI - Murray - It is with great sadness that the family of Murray Bilokreli of Theodore, SK announces his passing on August 12th, 2002 at the Foam Lake Health Centre with his family at his side. Murray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nellie; son Bryan (Donna); daughter Charlene (George) Ferguson; six grandchildren, Melanie and Mandy Bilokreli, Braden Ferguson (fiance Celina Brunner), Erin Ferguson, Jennifer Ferguson and Brett Ferguson. Murray is also survived by his brothers John, Mike (Edith) and Jim; sisters Helen and Eunice; sisters-in-law Ann Demkiw and Marge (Bruce) Mihalcea. He was predeceased by his parents Nick and Francis Bilokreli; brothers, Edward, Walter and Rudy; also his Father and Mother-in-law Mary and Paul Demkiw. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 14th at 7:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel in Yorkton, SK. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 15th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church in Theodore, SK. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Foam Lake Health Care Centre, Foam Lake, SK.
