MARY ERFLE

Mary Frances Erfle (nee Birss), born on June 14, 1928 in the Limerick district, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2005, with her family at her side. Mary will be long and lovingly remembered by all who knew her as a kind, gentle, selfless person. She enjoyed curling, playing softball and bridge in her younger years, later enjoyed watching the games on TV. Her family was most important to her, leaving them to mourn a wonderful role model. Mary is survived by her five children: Norman Czernick (Corinne), Christine, Adrian (Ellen), and Marshall; Louise (Grant) McLeod, Leah, Deanna (Corey), Carla (Collin), Kaela, Madison; Linda (Grant) Henning, David, Heather, Michelle (Josh); Cathy Lyons (Dave), Mary Louise (Ofe), Alayah, Khaleyl, Keonna; Tara, Destiny and Tyson; Karen Duncalfe (Rodney), Rebecca, Mindy (Dave), and John. She is also survived by her step-children: Garry (Dianne) Erfle, Janell; Rhonda (Mike) Scheelar, Joanne (John) Bain, Alex, Raelean (Clint) Hickson; sister-in-law, Lillian Birss; and first cousins Mary VanDusen., Tom Powrie and Jim Powrie. Mary is predeceased by her husband Albert (Lefty) Erfle, her loving parents, Marshall and Adda Birss; and three brothers and sister-in-law, Jim, Fraser (Agnes), and Charles. Funeral Services will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Molly Kitchen will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of choice, would be appreciated. In living memory of Mary, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JESSIE HEFFLEY

JESSIE HAMILTON HEFFLEY passed away March 11, 2008 at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, at the age of 92. Jessie taught at various communities in Saskatchewan including Swift Current and Moose Jaw. John and Jessie farmed at Drinkwater and then moved to Moose Jaw later in life. They traveled world wide over the years. Jessie enjoyed oil painting, cross stitch and playing bridge. She was a member of Sask. Teachers Foundation, St. Andrew’s United Church and Mizpah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Moose Jaw. She was predeceased by parents, Hugh and Margaret Horner, Husband, John Heffley, brother, Maurice Horner; sisters: Amy Maki, Rose Johnson, Charlotte Fraser, Winona Mullin, and Valerie Roach. She is survived by nieces: Sharon (Art) Landry and Marlene (Ron) Allen; nephews: Ron (Norma) Mullin, Leslie (Hildegarde) Johnson, Gordon Johnson and Robert Fraser as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. A graveside service will take place at Rosedale Cemetery on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 1 p.m. Reverend Nobuko Iwai will officiate. Those wishing to attend may meet at the cemetery gates just prior to 1p.m. A reception for family and friends will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Family Center 262 Athabasca St. E. from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. following the cemetery services In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 104 – 2301 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, S7L 5Z5. In living memory of Jessie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

HARRY CLEMMENSEN
NOVEMBER 14, 1934 - JUNE 14, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry on Saturday June 14, 2008 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by his parents Kristine and Anton Clemmensen; also his six brothers, George, Henry, Richard, Vern, Ivan, Swain; two sisters; Anna, Alma. He is survived by his wife Geri and three children; Brad (Kathleen), Brenda, Tracey; three grandchildren; Mark, Kristina and Zachery; four brothers; Ove, Arnold, Albert, Kay and one sister; Ida; also many nephews, nieces and friends. There will be a small gathering of family and friends at 1050 Hastings Street today from 4 - 8 pm to celebrate his life.

ELFRIEDA OPPERMAN

SELMA ELFRIEDA OPPERMAN slipped away in her sleep Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Providence Place. She is survived by her daughter, Marva Lee and children: Tonya (John), Mark and Erica; son, Ricky (Rosemary) and their children: Ryan, Randy (Rebecca) and Roslyn; a sister, Engsie and Howard Van Dusan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Bruno, Saskatchewan, May 25, 1926, Elfrieda married Alvin Opperman in Weyburn, January 30, 1948. They lived happily together for 52 years. She worked as a Psychiatric Nurse for 35 years with Valley View Centre. Elfrieda enjoyed sports, needle craft and gardening with Alvin. Once again, they are together in joy. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 150 Albert St., Regina, Sask., S4R 2N2 would be appreciated. In living memory of Elfrieda, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

DOUGLAS PORTER

DOUGLAS HARRY PORTER, age 59 years of Moose Jaw, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2003 in Regina General Hospital. Douglas was born August 31, 1944, in Willow Bunch where he was raised and received his education. He moved to make his home in Moose Jaw two years ago. Douglas was predeceased by parents, Olive and Harry. He leaves to mourn, son, Michael (Jayme); daughters: Tina (Shawn) and their son, Desmond, Tammy (Jason) and their son, Dillon; brothers: Marvin of Moose Jaw, Ray of Merrit, B.C., Wayne (Sue) of Weyburn and Ken (Sonya) of Moose Jaw, a sister, Carol (Keith) Rossitter of Mississauga, Ont., as well as aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Memorials for the Kidney Foundation, 1–2217 Hanselman Crt., Saskatoon, Sask., S7L 9Z9 would be appreciated. In living memory of Douglas, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

ERNST JENSEN

ERNST MARTIN CHRISTIAN JENSEN passed away peacefully at Moose Jaw Union Hospital at the age of 96 years. Ernst was born at LeClaire, Scott County, Iowa on June 14, 1909. He came to Canada in 1923 and in 1926 started farming with his father and brothers. He farmed all his life in the Stelcam and Belle Plaine districts. Predeceased by his parents, Hans and Dorthea Jensen; brothers: Richard and Harry and sister, Stella Paulson. Ernst is survived by sister, Elna Jensen, two nieces and six nephews. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., Moose Jaw. Pastor Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday evening (7-8 p.m.) at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. In living memory of Ernst, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

RONALD ROGERS

Ronald Charles Rogers passed away March 17, 2007 at the age of 90 years. Ron is predeceased by his mother Dora, father Jack, daughter Jacqueline Elsom, and brother Fred. He will be remembered by his son Jim (Linda) of Calgary; grandchildren, Robby Elsom and Ricky Rogers of Calgary, and Lisa (Darcy) Brown of Brooks, AB, along with four great-grandchildren, Jessie and Brian Elsom and Chad and Riley Brown; sisters, Rose Green of Victoria, BC and Dorothy Hale of Regina. Ron served two years in the Royal Canadian Navy particularly in the North Atlantic during Second World War. Ron worked for Wilson Stationary for forty-four years. He was the past president and held life memberships in the Moose Jaw Wild Animal Park Society, Moose Jaw Cancer Society, Moose Jaw Lions Club, the Saskatchewan Motor Club in Moose Jaw and the Horseshoe Club. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans Funeral Rites will be conducted by Dale Evenson. Memorialization will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Regina. Memorials to the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, S6H 7K7, or the Canadian Cancer Society 223 Fairford St. E. Moose Jaw S6H 0E1 would be appreciated. In living memory of Ron, a tree has been planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
