ELSIE BUCKLEY

ELSIE MARY BUCKLEY, passed away on November 17, 2003. Born in Fishguard, Wales on December 21, 1921. Predeceased by her parents William (Bill) and Gladys Morris. Lovingly remembered by her husband Cecil (Buck) of 61 years; ‘special’ daughter Judy (Steve) Mitchell, grandsons Todd and Tyler – all of Vancouver, sister Ivy Morris, nephew Dr. Barry (Sonia) Morris of White Rock, longtime friends Ray (Kay) Belisle; special friends Tom (Denise) Wild, Marissa, Taneshia and Tanner. Elsie was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star and Zion United Church. Honouring Elsie’s wishes, there will be no funeral held.
In living memory of Elsie, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

VI SHOOK

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, February 7, 2004 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Mom (Vi) was born in 1918 at Kandahar, Sask. She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Christina Auchstaetter; four brothers, Edward, Linnie, Gordon and Marno; three sisters, Liliane, Rose, and Aldis; niece, Mardis; nephew, Charles; and one grandchild, Tim. Vi (Mom) will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her children, Charles (Connie) Shook; Jim (Debbie) Shook; Cherie (Dave) Hudey; Terry (Bev) Shook; and Rick (Darlene) Shook; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Lincoln (Irene); sisters-in-law, Donna, Wilma, and Peggy; many nieces, nephews and close friends. Mom’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. The love she had for her family was precious. Through Mom’s life she enjoyed her time travelling with her friend, Mina and following her retirement from Valley View Centre, she spent her time at the Cosmo Centre, volunteered at Providence Place, played cards (bridge and crib), and enjoyed church functions. Vi also sold Avon for 25 years. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga Street West, on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at 2:30 pm. Reverend Doug Shepherd will officiate. Private family memorialization will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Box 309, Saskatoon, S7K 3L3, would be appreciated. In living memory of Vi, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

FRAN PERLETT

Mr. Frederick Francis (Fran) Perlettt of Tugaske passed away on Friday December 3, 2004. Fran was born December 5, 1926 on the family farm just east of Tugaske. In his younger years Fran travelled across Canada working at various jobs and helping farmers in the fall with the cutting of hay. Fran returned home to Tugaske where he met Shirley McKenzie, a school teacher. They were married in 1955 and farmed in the Tugaske area until retiring in 1989. Fran and Shirley enjoyed winter vacations in Arizona, Mexico and Hawaii. Fran will be remembered for the things that he enjoyed, golfing, gardening, crossword puzzles, watching his grandson’s play hockey and also enjoyed time with his friends on coffee row. Predeceased by his parents: Fred and Stella Perlett, his wife Shirley and one sister Lorraine. Fran is survived by his children: Darryl (Shannon Harms) Krysta (Lyndon Rush), Kaycie and Kody; Dawn (Gary) Ewen, Brett, Jeff and Kris: Danna (Blaine) Williams. One brother: Len as well as sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday December 8, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. from the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Rev. Rick McCorrister will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset cemetery. For those so wishing memorials may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 104 – 2301 Ave. C North, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5Z5 or the Renal Dialysis Unit, c/o Regina General Hospital. In living memory of Fran, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

JAMES RILEY

JAMES RILEY of Moose Jaw, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Sunday, March 13, 2005. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children at his side. He was born on May 5, 1931 at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. James worked for several years with the Western Ice Company of Moose Jaw. He owned and operated his own transport company for over thirty years. He also performed managerial duties at Pic-A-Pop in Moose Jaw and as well as similar duties at Prairie Spring Water Ltd. in Moose Jaw until he retired due to his illness. Predeceased by his mother, Mary Ellen, his father, William; three brothers: William, John and Stan; sisters: Edith Spendlow (John), Mary Lezzett (Alex), and an infant daughter, Diana-Lynn. James is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Mary Windrem and forever loved by four daughters: Mary (Keith), Edith (Dave), Brenda (Ward), Lucille (Mark) as well as six sons: Willie (Crystal), James (Shelley), Darrel (Lori), Randy (Alison), Ron and Steve (Jackie). Deeply loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James “Jim” enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles and outdoor pursuits. James loved visits from his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, Moose Jaw. Reverend Frank Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. For those so wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Saskatchewan Special Olympics Society, 353 Broad Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4R 1X2 would be appreciated. In living memory of James, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

LINDON ROUSELL

Lindon A. Rousell of Moose Jaw, passed away with Marlene by his side, on August 25, 2005, after a 29 year courageous battle with MS. Born in Moose Jaw December 8, 1939, he attended Prince Arthur, Peacock, and St. Louis Schools. Lindon married Marlene Knight on April 20, 1961. For many years Lindon worked in the meat processing industry. He served in Europe for 18 months during peacetime. Lindon enjoyed trap shooting, art work, wood working and for many years was a Scout Leader. He developed the “Whooper Troopers” so he and his family could spend more time together. He is predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Millie, and brother Dyton. Lindon will be lovingly remembered by his family: his devoted wife of 44 years, Marlene – Moose Jaw, two sons: Garth (Ida) – Fort McMurray, AB, Vaughan (Lisa) – Burnaby, BC; daughter, Rhonda (Tim) – Valleyview, AB; six grandchildren: April, Stan, Robyn, Amanda, Brandon, and Daniel; and brother Garth (John) – Windsor, ON. In keeping with Lindon’s wish, a private service for family and close friends with be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place, with memorialization at a later date. Memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 150 Albert St., Regina, S4R 2N2, would be appreciated. In living memory of Lindon, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

KAY (KATIE) NEUFELD

KAY (KATIE) NEUFELD, born July 4, 1906 in Blumenhoff, Manitoba, passed away Wednesday November 17, 2004. Kay married Peter Neufeld August 7, 1924. She lived a very busy life. Kay was a seamstress and worked as a housekeeper. She moved to Moose Jaw where she worked as a Dietary Aide at Ina Grafton Gage Home and in Housekeeping at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Grandma made quilts and slippers for all her family. Her gardening and Bingo were a big part of her life but her main love in life was her family and always looked forward to their birthdays. Kay lived on her own at Victoria Towers and at Providence Place the last while. She enjoyed her walks and could usually find her at the Uptown at noon. Predeceased by her husband, Peter in 1976, son, Jim, daughter, Leona Barby, grandson, Rory Barby, son-in-law, Ron Polley, five brothers and three sisters, Katie is survived by her children: Dorothy Polley, Clarence (Rosalie) Neufeld, Larry (Diane) Neufeld, sister, Helen Golia; three sisters-in-law: Sonya Wiebe, Bertha Wiebe and Ann Wiebe; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and twenty-seven great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 1:30 pm. Captain Stephen Kennedy will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In living memory of Katie, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.

CATHERINE (LOIS) ROSS

CATHERINE (LOIS) ROSS passed away on August 9, 2005 after a short battle with cancer. Lois was born on October 4, 1927 in Riverhurst, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband, Barney Ross, parents, one sister, one brother, a niece and two nephews. Lois is survived by her daughters: Debbie (Jim) Clark of Regina, Denise (Mike) Cullen of Morinville, Alta.; granddaughters: Karen and Sara Clark, Rebecca and Jessica Cullen, great-grandson, Taylor Clark; sisters: Verda (Gordon) Clark of Victoria, B.C. and Dot (Ed) Ohreen of Calgary, Alta., brother, Barry (Barb) Langdon of Regina; sisters-in-law, Hazel Ross of Moose Jaw and Phem (Vic) Bishop of Saskatoon as well as many nieces and nephews. Lois will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her through her many friendships, work in the church and in the community. Although the last three years of her life were filled with health problems, her love of family, strength of character, indomitable spirit and one eye on the golf course never let her give up. Following cremation, A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel. Linda Owens will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask., S4T 7T1 or to a charity of one’s choice. In living memory of Lois, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
