J. Elmer Williamson

Williamson, J. Elmer suddenly passed away at Kingston General Hospital, Kingston Ontario on Thursday July 10, 2008. Elmer Williamson(formerly of Weyburn), in his 86th year.Beloved husband of the late Jean Niblock (Aug. 2004). Dear father of Debbie (Tom) Hamilton of Lyndhurst, Ontario, Dale (Elaine) of Burton, New Brunswick, Wendy (Denise) of Delburne, Alberta. Fondly remembered by grandchildren, Mark,Maren, Leah, Sara, Kaitlyn, Benjamin,and Caleb. Elmer and his loving wife Jean lived in Weyburn close to twenty years where they made wonderful friendships and good memories before returning to Ontario to live. Memorial Service and Interment were held Monday July 14 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Oak Leaf,Ontario.

Peter Konrad Hintz

Mr. Peter Hintz, beloved husband of Mrs. Jan Hintz of Medicine Hat, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, August 7th, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Peter also leaves to cherish his memory three children: Kathy (Andrew) Thome of Medicine Hat and their children, Adam (Beth) and Janessa; Kevin (Ellen) Hintz of Calgary and their children, Timothy (Lindsay), Christopher, and Megan; and Douglas (Yvonne) Hintz of Calgary and their children, Jillianne, Emily, Michael and Ian; as well as one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by two brothers, Tony (Lucille) Hintz of Weyburn and Joe Hintz of Regina; one sister, Marie (Pat) McLeod of Weyburn; one sister-in-law, Carol Hintz of Medicine Hat; special friends, Cleona and Stanley Weiss; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Clara Hintz; and two brothers, Ed and Mike Hintz. Peter was born on October 6th, 1935 on the family farm near Khedive. He began his education in Khedive and completed his schooling in Weyburn where he also met the former Janice Grandbois. They were married on May 30th, 1959 and made Weyburn their home for eleven years, where Peter was employed with the Co-op Creamery. In 1970, the family moved to Medicine Hat where Peter took up his plumbing trade, eventually opening Pete's Plumbing & Heating. He had a great interest in horses ­ riding the rodeo circuit and horse racing. Peter was very involved in his church and the Knights of Columbus, 3rd and 4th Degree. His other interests included playing cards, especially 500 and crib, driving across Canada in his motorhome as well as visiting with old and new friends. The most important aspect of his life was family ­ his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel on Monday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at StT. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:25 p.m. Vigil Rites (prayers) were said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, on Monday, August 11th, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass was celebrated in ST. PATRICK'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 238 ­ 2nd Avenue NE, Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Father John L. Maes, celebrant. A private family interment will take place on Wednesday, August 13th, 2008. Elizabeth (Betty) Mary Kot (nee Gaab)

Elizabeth (Betty) Mary Kot (nee Gaab) of Weyburn, passed away peacefully after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband John Joseph Kot (1992), and her first husband Raymond Schmuck (1960). She was also predeceased by her parents Anton and Magdelena Gaab; brothers: Thomas Gaab, George Gaab and Rudy Gaab; Sister-in-laws: Ann Gaab, Ruth Gaab, Amelia Gaab, Yvonne Kot, Pauline Kot, Emelia Hudey; Brother-in-law: Nick Schmidt, John Klatt, Dan Slawson, Elbie Ford and John A. Kot. Elizabeth is survived by her children: Joseph Schmuck (Anne Weir), Fort McMurray, AB; Judy (Kevin) Cole, Calgary, AB.; Pamela Kot, Regina, Grandson Devon Schmuck (Carly Moskal), Saskatoon and step granddaughter Maria Weir, Grande Prairie, AB. Betty is also survived by her brothers: Peter (Rose) Gaab, Joseph (Dorothy) Gaab. Sisters: Rose Schmidt, Sue Klatt, Barbara Kot, Eva Ford; Sisters-in-law: Helen Schultz, Dorothy (Norbert) Schultz, Marianne (Ron) Abel and Brother-in-law; Darold (Lynn) Kot; as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty loved life. Betty was an exceptional mother and a wonderful friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Prayers were held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7th, 2008. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, August 8th, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Weyburn. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery. Audrey Margurette Kessler late of Weyburn, and formerly of Pangman passed away on Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Audrey was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Karl Kessler; her daughter, Verlene Linton; her parents, Edward and Eva Rolston; great-granddaughter, Amber Dawn Moore; great great-great-grandson, Kohler Bronson Moore; three brothers: Ray, William and John Rolston; and her sister Pearl Rainey. Audrey is survived by her children: JoAnne (Lloyd) Pitcher and their children: Trevor (April), Charles (Tracy), Danielle (Clay) Parks, Paulette (Paquito) Drouin; Fern Kessler (Bill Ward) and her children: Donna (Garry) Moore, Lorraine Nyhus, Glen Nyhus; Bob (Lorraine) Kessler and their children: Jolene, Sasha (Jamin) Hackl and Naomi; Richard (Sherry) Kessler and their children: Kathy (Joel) Melanson, Jeff (Millecent), Jerry (Cherie); Charles (Jackie) Kessler and their daughter, Brittany; Cheryl (Darrell) Rowland and their children: Tina (Scott) Fettes, Mandy, Carla (Grant); son-in-law, Dwight Linton and his children: Steven (Sheena) and Stuart (Jana) Linton; twenty one great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Cook of Kelowna, BC as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean Wick

Jean Wick was born May 14, 1921 in Ogema, Saskatchewan and passed away on September 2, 2008 in Regina. Jean was raised on the family farm South of Kayville with one brother and four sisters. She attended Adell School and then went on to high school in Ogema. She completed her Grade 12 and went on to receiving her Standard Teaching Certificate. Jean went on and met and married Earle Scott who then sadly passed away in 1988. After his passing Jean married Ernest Wick, who also sadly passed away in 2005. Jean taught school for 23 years in a rural one room school in Thorndyke, Dahinda and Ogema. Teaching was her passion. All the many gifts and presents she received from her students she proudly displayed in her house for all to see. Jean loved to keep busy. She played on the Adell Ladies softball team, enjoyed sewing and crocheting, baking and cooking, square dancing, travelling, singing and playing the piano. She also loved playing cards with her family and friends. Jean also kept herself busy with the Rebecca's and sang in the United Church Choir. Jean was a person that loved her family, children and grandchildren and friends. She was a strong willed person and was always there for her family and friends. Everyone was always welcome for a cup of coffee or to stay for dinner. Not only was she a great mother and grandmother, she was a dedicated teacher and was well respected by all her students. Jean loved her flowers and garden and was always giving everyone produce or flowers. Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Jean was predeceased by her mother and father, Louisa and Robert Scott; first husband, Earle Scott; second husband, Ernest Wick; brothers and sisters, Helen (Doc), Lillian (John), Elma, Clarence and Ruby (Jack). Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rob (Janice) Scott of Ogema, their children Mark (Carrie Ann), their son, Tyrell; Michelle (Troy) their children, Zoe and Medea; Elwood (Denise) Scott of Regina, their children, Denelle, Chelsea and Ashley; Janet (Wade) Hesjedal of Bengough, their children, Regan, Aaron and Brittany; step-children, Lynne (Kundus) Hoffart of Regina, Randy (Marianna) Wick of Oungre, Mary Anne La Coste of Regina, Tammy Hardy of Regina; seven step grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn with Rev. Sylvia Fitzgerald officiating. Interment took place in Ogema Cemetery, Ogema. Stephen Bayerle

Bayerle, Stephen late of Weyburn, passed away on August 20, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Magdalena Bayerle; wife, Mena Bayerle; two brothers, Philip and Joseph Bayerle and brother-in-law, Cameron Selby. Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his son, Roger Bayerle of Regina; two sisters, Margaret Selby of Regina and Marian Chernenkoff of Brandon, MB; sister-in-law, Lila Bayerle of Weyburn, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, with Fr. Gerry Bauche officiating. Ken Oxelgren

Ken Oxelgren of Tribune, passed away September 3, 2008 at the Weyburn Special Care Home at the age of 82 years. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Tillie Oxelgren; brother, Clem (Delilah) Oxelgren; sisters, Phyllis (Elmer) Erickson and Muriel (Hjalmer) Erickson. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lorraine Oxelgren; daughter, Roxanne (Dean) Ror; son, Kim (Eva) Oxelgren; daughter, Sonia Oxelgren (Nick Tuchscherer) and son, Cory Oxelgren; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren - Devon (Carrie) Ror, Tyler Ror (Amanda Steer) and their daughter, Mya, Trina (Jason) Mundy, Travis (Kim) Oxelgren and their son, Dallen, Adine (Adrian) Enns, Mitchell and Jackson Tuchscherer; sister-in-law, Dorothy Erickson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ken was born and raised on the family farm and continued to farm it until the 1990's. He served on the municipal council for 10 years. In his younger years he enjoyed to play ball and curl. However, he will be remembered by his love of a good argument, especially political. This extended well into his later years! By Ken's request, there will be no Funeral Service. Beaudry, Yvette Marie late of Weyburn, passed away on August 26 at the age of 85 years. Yvette was predeceased by her mother & father, Leona and Fidela Cyr; husband, George Beaudry and son-in-law, Bernie Robert. Yvette will be lovingly remembered by her children, Judy Boehmer of Regina, Jeanette Robert of White City, Elaine (Ed) Daer of Weyburn, Doreen (Jim) Stadnick of Weyburn, Gerri (Blaine) Becker of Maxim and Laurie Diewold of Regina; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Marie Ann Daer of Weyburn as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Fr. Gerry Bauche officiating. Morley Leroy Olson

Morley Leroy Olson, late of Weyburn passed away on Sunday, August 31 at the age of 75 years. Morley was predeceased by his parents, Dick and Carey Olson; his wife, Katie in 2007; and his brothers and sisters. Morley is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Inez Guider, Weyburn and Eileen Guider, Regina; brothers-in-law: Clarence (Joy) Guider, Halbrite and Eddy (Lorraine) Guider, Calgary, AB. Morley worked at the Weyburn Review and Vanity Dry Cleaners both of Weyburn and with Page Cleaners, Victoria, BC. Morley was with the Saskatchewan Department of Highways for 35 years. He enjoyed watching football and hockey on television. At Morley's request, there will be no Funeral Service. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn will be held at a later date. Evelyn Delores Hansen

On Sept 2, after living life to the fullest and with her husband of over 57 years by her side, Evelyn passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father. She came into this world on May 26, 1924 the 4th of 8 children born to Elsie & Ray Erickson. Most of her childhood was spent on a farm South West of Lake Alma. At age 20, she moved with her dad & sisters to Modesto, CA. She remained in the U.S. until her marriage to Johnny in San Francisco on November 25, 1950. They returned to Saskatchewan the following March in the middle of a blizzard. In Evelyn's own words: "It was quite a change for me after living in California but when you love someone, you will go to the ends of the earth with them". Johnny & Evelyn farmed for over 40 years near Oungre and retired into Weyburn in 1993. Their home always had the welcome mat out & a full pot of coffee on. She liked nothing better than to be surrounded by family & friends - particularly those who enjoyed a rousing game of Skipbo! Evelyn's love for family & friends was surpassed only by her love for Christ and her life was a testimony to her faith. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers - Raymond & Meryl Erickson, a sister Inez Long & her precious first grandson - Troy Hansen. Remaining to celebrate her life are her husband Johnny; their 5 children & spouses - Larry & Ellen Hansen, Rhonda & Ken Trueman, Lorna Hansen, Don & Esther Hansen, Joel & Lelia Hansen; 9 grandchildren - Sheri (Jeff) Raknerud, Clayton Hansen, Dana Barrand, Erin Barrand (Lance Roberts), Jeff Hansen, Andrew (Jessica) Hansen, Rebecca Hansen, John Hansen & Tanner Hansen; 1 great grandson - Kaden Raknerud; 3 sisters - Opal McCracken, Joyce Geesey, Norma (Paul) Bell; 1 brother - Don Black. She also leaves her sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law - Edith Melby, Clarence & Vera Hansen, Harold Tangjerd, Evelyn Hansen, Lloyd & Lauretta Hansen, Palmer & Marg Hansen; special cousins Wes & Lois Erickson, Gail & Ross Olson and Cheryl & Keith Young as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other cousins & friends. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Silver Heights Bible Church, Weyburn with Pastor Harley Porter officiating. Thelma Leona Ortman late of Weyburn, passed away on Monday, September 1st, 2008 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Ortman, her parents, Ole and Christina Holten and her brother Ronald Holten. Thelma is survived by her sons, Robert (Gloria) Ortman, Weyburn, Larry ( Broyna) Ortman, Weyburn; two sisters-in-law, Daisy Holten and Teresa Chance; four grandchildren: Mike (Sheri) Ortman, St. Albert, AB, Shaun (Wendy) Ortman, Weyburn, Tracy (David) Harper, Lethbridge, AB, Angela (Richard) Martinez, Austin, Texas; her very special great grandchildren: Dakota, Kim, Raylene, Matt, Tazmin, Darcie, Cody, Diego; special niece , Patti ( Brian) Wiles, Ogema and children Jinnine (Allen) Carnduff, Martin (Donna) Wiles, Richard (Angelia) Wiles along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
