BENS, JOHN ANTON (TONY) - Saturday, 22 Feb 2003
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the sudden loss of our husband, father, and grandfather. Born in Cudworth, Saskatchewan July 7, 1920. Passed away peacefully on February 22, 2003.
Tony grew up in Cudworth and lived on the family farm until 1941. He enlisted with the RCAF and served overseas until January 1945. He married Betty Bens, his wife of 57 years on November 15, 1945.
They lived in Cudworth, moving to Morinville, Alberta in 1946 and to British Columbia in 1956. He is predeceased by his son Ken in 1971.
Left to mourn and to carry his memory with love are his wife, Betty, and 4 children; Elaine Ivancic, Shirley Bens, Marilynn (Ken) Montgomery, and Gary Bens; 5 granchildren; Tania Ivancic, Tony (Tracy) Ivancic, Lisa Ingram, Rhonda Montgomery, Jessica Bens; 4 great grandchildren; Amanda and John Ivancic, Karleigh and Austin Ingram; 3 sisters; Martha Bens, rosa Muyard, and Catherine Jungwirth and 1 brother; Joe Bens.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Canadian Food for Children, 3218 - 224th St., Langley, B.C., V2Z 2G8.
Requiem Mass: Thursday, February 27th at 11:00 a. m. with reception following at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C.

Jaron Michael. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the sudden loss of our son, Jaron on February 22, 2003. Born July 7, 1999 in Abbotsford, B.C.
He is survived by his Mother, Michelle, Daddy, Randy, sister Savannah, stepbrothers, Quinton, Tyler and Nathan. His Nana, Carol, his Aunties Laura-Lee and Sandra. He also leaves to mourn, Grampa Bruce and Grandmom Gloria, Grampa Morris and Grandmom Marie and many aunts, uncles and friends. He touched so many lives in his short time here.

SHORE, EDWARD (TED) - Saturday, 22 Feb 2003
Edward (Ted) Monty - Born January 27, 1953, late of Port Coquitlam, passed away February 22, 2003 at the age of 50 at Eagle Ridge Hospital. Ted grew up in Abbotsford.
Predeceased by his mother Jean Shore.
Survived by his loving wife Terry; his father Monty; & brothers Bob, Doug, and Ron.
Everyone who knew Ted is welcome to remember him at a Memorial service to he held at the Legion, 2675 Shaughnessy St., Port Coquitlam on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 1:00 p. m., followed by refreshments. Donations to the Legion Branch #133, in lieu of flowers.

SANDERSON-CHRISTIE, ELEANOR - Saturday, 22 Feb 2003
Eleanor Hope Sanderson-Christie late of Mission, B.C., passed away on Saturday, February 22nd, 2003 at Mission Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Christie in 1973.
Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her son Dale Christie and daughter-in-law Linda Christie and grandson Kenny; her dear friends Denise and Ray Goertz and Carol Telford. She was a member of the Alanon and Alteen.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 28, 2003, 10:00 a. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, with Reverend Les Goertz officiating and the Legion presenting the Last Post.
Burial will follow at Hatzic Cemetery. Eleanor's family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Schoichet and Dr. Breckenridge and the nursing staff at Mission Memorial Hospital as well as home care staff for all their tender care through her sickness. JEAL, MEI-LIN - Friday, 21 Feb 2003
Mei-Lin Jeal passed away into the presence of the Lord on February 21, 2003 at the age of 85.
She is survived by her husband Frank and his daughter Eleanor and many friends in Abbotsford and Vancouver.
She was a godly woman; she had a sharp and lively wit and she was great fun to be with - she will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 28th at 2:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, donations to any of her favourite charities, e. g. her church, the Vancouver S. P. C. A., the Vancouver General or St. Paul's Hospitals, the Salvation Army Vancouver, are appreciated.

WILLIAMS, DONALD - Thursday, 20 Feb 2003
Donald passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord at noon, February 20, 2003 in the Tabor Home. He was born August 28, 1913 in Edmonton, AB.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Martha, his 4 children Joyce (Bob) Schmidt of Maui, Hawaii, Jeannette (Larry) Epp of Seattle, Wash., George(Dorothy) of Abbotsford and Mona (Dean) Gold of Abbotsford, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He and Martha were married August 14, 1938 in Laird, Sask. He operated several business in Sask., before moving to B.C. in 1959, where he operated Village Furniture in Clearbrook until he retired in 1969. He loved music, played several instruments, and enjoyed golf and travelling to Arizona for winter.
A private graveside service will be held followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, February 25th, 2003 at the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road.

JENSEN, REVEREND ARNE - Thursday, 20 Feb 2003
Reverend Arne, passed away on February 20, 2003 at Mission, B.C. at the age of 65 years. Arne will be lovingly remembered by his wife BArbara, children Kirsten (GeorgE), Mike and Kim, grandchildren Alisha, Cheyenne and Kayla, brother Gordon and sister Elsie Winchell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arne was born in Calgary and was ordained as a Lutheran pastor in 1965. He ministered to congregations in Brunkild, MB; Forestberg, AB; Parkside, SK; Mackenzie, B.C. ; and Matsqui, B.C.
In 1981 Arne began his studies to become a Specialist in Institutional Ministry, and served as Chaplain at Kent, Mountain, Mission and Ferndale Institutions. During his career in the prison ministry, Arne pioneered new programs assisting inmates and their families, including initiating a family worship service. After his retirement in 1997, the new chapel at Mission Institution was named in his honor. Arne will be especially remembered for his kindness, his humour, and his love of life.
Arne's family wishes to extend its gratitude to the many homecare and hospice workers who provided him with physical and emotional support. A service will be held at 1:00 p. m., on Friday, February 28th at Matsqui Lutheran Church, 5781 Riverside Street, Matsqui, B.C. Those wishing to make a donation in Arne's memory are invited to do so to the B.C. Parkinson's Disease Association or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

JORY, CLEORA - Thursday, 20 Feb 2003
Cleora Jory passed away peacefully and swiftly on Feb. 20, 2003 at the age of 94. She leaves to mourn her sole surviving sibling, Jesie Delaney; two sons, Bill (Midge) and Bob (Diana); six grandchildren, Megan, Janet(Ken), Peter (Kathleen), Richard (Jennifer), Curtis (Sandra) and Christina (Kyle); seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by Hill Jory, her husband of 51 years, in 1985.
After moving here from northern Alberta in 1947, Cleora and Hill farmed on King Road for 17 years before moving onto Bevan Ave. She attended UBC to earn her B. Ed degree and taught home economics in local schools for 18 years. Before her stroke in 1992 she had been active in the North Poplar UCW, the Retired Teacher's Assn., the United Church and other groups.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Cleora's life will be held at Trinity Memorial United Church on Sat. March 22 at 2 p. m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Cleora may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BISHOP, BEATRICE - Sunday, 15 Dec 2002
Beatrice Mary Lucretia Bishop, late of Abbotsford, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2002 at the age of 77 years.
She is survived by her daughters Ann (Ron) McCracken of Calgary, Alta., Judith (Ron) Nesbitt of Oakville, Ont., Gail Filgueira of Georgetown, Ont., and grandchildren Casey, Amy, Nicole, Tara and Kerrie.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at 1:30 p. m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Rev. Wayne Wattman officiating. Cremation.

VINET, GLADYS - Sunday, 15 Dec 2002
Gladys Vinet, born May 26, 1914, passed into the presence of her Lord on December 15, 2002. She is survived by her brother Galt Dougall.
The family wishes to extend many thanks to those who befriended her in her senior years. A private family funeral will be held on Thursday, December 19th in Abbotsford.

ROBERTSON, EDITH - Saturday, 14 Dec 2002
Edith Marion Robertson late of Abbotsford, B.C. peacefully passed into the presence of her Lord on December 14, 2002. Edith is survived by her loving family, son Harry (Loreen) Robertson of Richmond, daughter Pat (John) Fast of Abbotsford, sisters Bessie Olsen and Connie Pottage of Abbotsford and several nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
We thank all the nurses and caregivers at the Cottage Pavillion for all the special care given to our mother.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mtn. Park Community Church, 36232 Lower Sumas Mtd. Road, Abbotsford, Saturday at 1:00 p. m. December 21, 2002.

COMEY (NASH), LINDA - Friday, 13 Dec 2002
After a long courageous battle with cancer Linda Ann Comey passed away December 13, 2002 at 3:27 a. m. She is survived by her loving husband John, daughters; Paula, Kimberley and Megan; sisters Samantha and Elizabeth as well as many other family, relatives, friends and loved ones.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday December 17, 2002 at 8:30 p. m. from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at 10:30 a. m. from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church at 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C.
Interment will follow at Gardens of Gethsemane, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C. Cancer Society in Linda Comey's name.

WHITE, GRACE - Friday, 13 Dec 2002
Grace Jean McAllister (Fotheringham) passed away suddenly December 13, 2002. Born on the Isle of Coll, Scotland January 4, 1920.
Survived by her daughters Morven (Len) Leroux, Colleen White and grandsons Justin and Sean Leroux.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Many thanks to the ER group at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

BALZER, MARGARET - Thursday, 12 Dec 2002
Margaret H. Balzer, late of Menno Home, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2002 at age 88 years. She was surrounded by several family members and Helen, a close friend at the time of her passing. She was predeceased by her daughter Gloria in 1949, her husband David in 1980 and three grandchildren. She was the last remaining sibling of her family.
Survived by her children; daughter Rita (Helen) Allen, daughter Betty (Bill) Peters, daughter Lorina (Vic) Froese, son Len (Edna)Balzer, son Al (Dorothy)Balzer, daughter Mary Lynne (Dave)Jackson, son Ray (Shirley) Balzer and daughter Sharon (Neil) Berglund; one sister-in-law Sara Janzen, as well as 22 grandchildren and 10 great granchildren.
Memorial Service to be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at 12:00 noon from Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen St. , Mission, B.C. Private graveside service was held. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all.

GIBSON, PRISCILLA - Thursday, 12 Dec 2002
Gibson, Priscilla passed away peacefully on December 12, 2002 at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mabel Hathaway, her sister Isabel, and brothers Gordon, Harold and Johnnie.
She is survived by her loving family; daughters Dawn Halliday and husband John, Gale Fafard, son Grand Gibson and wife Diane, granchildren April and Amber Halliday, Brooks, Blake and Lesley Fafard, Jill and Jodi Gibson; and 2 great granchildren Brandon and Brittany Fafard. Also survived by her brother James Hathaway and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, December 16 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the Billy Graham Foundation would be appreciated. She has gone to be with her loving Savior and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
