MARCEL DEROCHE

Surrounded by his family's love, Marcel Deroche passed away Sunday May 5, 2002 in Notre Dame Hospital in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes at 74 years of age. He leaves in mourning his loving wife Lorraine (Aminot), his children and fourteen grandchildren: Diane (Guy, Jolyne, Réjean) Roch, Lilliane (Hubert, Stéphane, David) Chappellaz, Jacqueline (Roger, Jude, Rhéanne) Vermette, Patricia (Claude, Justin, Matthieu) Vuignier, Guy (Nicole, Josée, Caleb), Eileen (Dan, Chloë, Céleste) Dorge, et Gérald (Colette, Ian et Julien).

He also leaves in mourning his brother André (Helen), his mother-in-law, Joséphine Aminot as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law: Doris Rusk, Lucille Vermiere, Ronald (Simone) Aminot, Fernand (Jeannette) Aminot, Rita (Normand) LeFloch, Jeannette (André) Durand, Suzanne (Charles) Durand, Lionel (Diane) Aminot, Paul (Clémence) Aminot and Paulette (Norman) Bérard, and numerous nephews and nieces.

He is predeceased by his parents, Jean-Baptiste and Joséphine (LeNéal) Deroche, his stepmother, Jeanne Galliot-Deroche, and his brother Lionel Deroche, his father-in-law Jean Aminot, his brothers-in-law Gilbert Aminot and Jules Vermiere, a niece, Brenda Durand and a nephew, Laurie Durand .

Marcel grew up in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and it was at the tender age of eleven that he lost his mother. As a young man, he drove the transfer before eventually going to work in the family business, Notre Dame Motors, of which he became owner after his father's death. With his wife Lorraine, he raised a large family and built his business to finally pass it on to his sons when he retired.

He also left his mark in the town of Notre Dame: councillor in the first town council, on the manor's and hospital's councils, first fire chief, and member of the Knights of Columbus. His devotion to his community made itself known.

He was an exceptional father and grandfather who passed on to his children and grandchildren the values of family unity, hard work and love. He loved being surrounded by his family and will always be its anchor. His presence, his strength and his unique sense of humour will certainly be missed.

Cremation has taken place. Prayers will be held in Adam's funeral chapel on Tuesday May 7, 2002 at 8 p.m. Religious services will be held in the Notre Dame Church on Wednesday May 8, 2002 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Notre Dame hospital.
